Charlotte (charkro) | 1798 comments Debbie and Marissa, welcome to the group! =)

Debbie, I wouldn't say you're crazy for making so many notes. I personally am glad that I have most of SK's books in ebook form, because otherwise the pages would be one big, soggy, yellow mess. XD

I'm with you, Marissa, I still love every book too. =)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Oops, missed seeing you guys in the intro page here. Welcome Debbie and Marissa. And with so much going on in these books it never hurts to have folks taking so many notes. And clarifying and questioning, and even theorizing things. Just makes it all the more awesome. Happy to have you guys with us. ;)

By the way, could you please add my name and birthday to the upcoming birthday celebrations list?

message 1656: by Charlotte, Cheesy Cakes (new)

Charlotte (charkro) | 1798 comments Greetings from America, and welcome to the group, Isil! =)

(Forgive me, but my keyboard won't let me type your name properly. )

It's always good to have another member, so have a look around and feel free to join in on some of the discussions.

And I love your name's meaning. =)

To add your name and birthday, go to our birthdays folder:
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/group...

Find your birthday month, and then post your name and day in that topic, and we'll be sure it gets on the list. =)

Love your name sounds very sparkly. :) And that is correct, just post when your bday is and I will be sure it gets to our bday pool. So you can get a shout out on that special day.

Also welcome to the group and feel free to join discussions, ask questions and anything else. Hope to talk more with you son. :)

I would live in either world if I could just get my hands on any of the Sentella!!! Love Maris!! Then of course the world of DH........now that's a whole 'nother obsession!!! My first love will always be Kyrian; but I love them all!!!

Sorry about there being any posting issues. And welcome to the group Debbie. I think things are posting pretty well for ya now. And happy you are enjoying both series so well.

Charlotte (charkro) | 1798 comments Hi Debbie, and welcome to the group! =)

Hooray, another League fan! Hope you're enjoying Born of Legend, I thought it was awesome. And Maris is one of my favorite characters, too.

Hope to see you around on the boards. =)

message 1671: by Debbie (new)

Debbie Hagopian (debbisuz) I'm from Gainesville, FL and have read all of SK's League series except for Born of Legend which I'm currently reading. Can anyone tell me what "mutara" means? I've seen where Jullien calls Ushura this several times. I am pretty sure I recall seeing that in previous books too here and there. I've tried to find out with web searches but no luck. Thanks for any clarification on the word.

message 1672: by Angela (last edited Jul 21, 2016 06:10AM) (new)

Angela Charles (shasha31) | 6 comments Hi everyone! I am Angela from Tallahassee, FL. I have read all of SK books and they are addictive. I have putting off reading Born of Legend because I know that it will have me emotion. A redemption story tends to do that to me. My favorite character is Julian of Macedon. There is something about him that I just love. Styxx is a close second.

message 1673: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Hi Debbie and Angela. Welcomes to the group. Happy to have you guys with us. :)

I believe and could be mistaken. But I think mutara was said to have meant darling or my darling. Might need to get our resident League peeps on that to be sure. But glad you both have been enjoying SK's reads as well I and the rest of us do. Feel free to hop in on the discussions and sharing some theories and have fun. :)

message 1674: by Charlotte, Cheesy Cakes (new)

Charlotte (charkro) | 1798 comments Welcome to the group, Debbie and Angela! Glad to have you with us. =)

@ Debbie, I posted a response for you in the "Born of Legend" thread. =)

@ Angela, I thoroughly agree. SK's books are very addictive. And I think you will love Born of Legend. ;)

message 1675: by Abby (new)

Abby Hi everyone, my name is Abby and I'm from Gary, IN. I will be moving though after I get married in 2 weeks woohoo!!

SK has quickly become one of my favorite authors! I started with the Chronicles of Nick and then moved into the DH series. My favorite characters are Kyrian and Simi (cause who wouldn't want to eat the heifer goddess lol).

Right now I am playing catch up. I just started reading No Mercy and have fallen behind in CoN. Hopefully will be starting her League series soon!

message 1676: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Hi Abby,

Welcome to the group and congrats on the upcoming nuptials and the big move.

Glad you are enjoying all of SK's creative worlds. She is definitely a true gem out there. :)

message 1678: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca Madsen | 1 comments Hello everybody. My name is Rebecca and I have been reading Mrs Kenyons books for most 8 years now. I started with the Dark Hunter series but my favorite is the League series. I have a copy of most of her books but I'm missing the last few Dark Hunter books and about half of the Chronicles of Nick series.

I was lucky enough to meet Mrs. Kenyon when she came to Kansas City about 4 or 5 years ago and have a signed copy of 2 of her books. By far some of my favorite possessions.

I am a book-a-holic and tend to read about 500 pages a day. So if you have any book recommendations I would welcome them.

message 1679: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Hi Rebecca, welcome to the group. I'm sure there are more than enough recommendations we can help you with around these parts.

I also got a chance to meet SK as well. She came to a Meet the Authors event here in Ohio. And got her to sign a few of my books. Got a hug and took what I thought was a pic with her. But it unfortunately never came out. Til next time I guess lol.

Feel free to check out our What's on your nightstand threads, even SBS too. Oh and definitely the Word on the street thread, all kinds of happenings and things being answered over there.

Charlotte (charkro) | 1798 comments Hello Rebecca, and welcome to the group! =)

Wendy (wdw57) | 1 comments Hello , My name is Wendy and have found the books of our fav author to be captivating to say the least. Though I have read them out of order as I could find the books. I am going to attempt to catch up to them all and begin at the start and read them in order. Thank goodness we have many little free libraries around so I might find them there. Have a Happy New Year all

message 1683: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

message 1686: by DeAnn (new)

DeAnn (strategicserendipity) | 1 comments Hello, my name is DeAnn and I first started reading the books in the mid-2000's. I left off with Acheron when it came out and it took me a few years to go back to them. Every time I do, start at the beginning (probably why Fantasy Lover is still my favorite). I made it back to Acheron last fall and again got hung up. I am now a little more than halfway through it and moving forward again. So excited to be back in the game and thrilled to have found a group who loves them so much.

message 1687: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Hi DeAnn,

Welcome to the group. Yea, Ash and Styxx's books are some trying ones to get through. But we are more than here to help ya get through it. Glad you are enjoying the stories as well. :) Feel free to join in the discussions would love to get your take on things.

message 1688: by Wanda (last edited Jan 12, 2017 06:55AM) (new)

Wanda Lee | 4 comments Heya! Don't think I've introduced myself as of yet. My name is Wanda and I simply LOOOVE SK's books! I'm trying to get all paperbacks as they take up less room and I'm already bursting at the seams with books by Feehan, Cole and Sands!

I cannot say that I have a favourite, but whichever one I am reading at that time is my fave!

I even have the Simi and Ash 1/6 scale dolls that were made a few years back and hope to own more!!! Ash needs a complete facial redo, as his eyes are not even close to what they should be.

And, YES, that is a blatant hit to see if any more will be made!

I do have 13 OOAK (One of a Kind) dolls and one BJD that I relate to characters in her books every now and then.

Reading, SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism) and photography are the 3 hobbies that I do and enjoy them all to the fullest of my abilities! In the SCA, I either shoot targets while doing archery or shoot whatever with my camera!

Here's looking to reading or REreading SK books!

message 1689: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Hi Wanda,

Welcome, welcome. And wow didn't realize there was a special Society for photography and even archery. That is really awesome too about having the dolls of Ash and Simi, I think I had only seen them online somewhere or other.

Glad you enjoy the books so well too. Happy to have you joining us and look forward to you sharing your thoughts and opinions with us over the characters.

Wanda Lee | 4 comments The SCA ( http://sca.org/ ) is a group that does Re-enacting of the Middle Ages. Archery is but one of the many, and I mean MANY, activities that can be done.

My hobby of Photography started because of this group.

Not my pic, but this is Ash and Simi: https://www.flickr.com/photos/1488286...

Okay, so I'm officially jealous ... of your dolls. I would have loved to have had them, as they look really awesome. (But alas, they went out of production before I even learned about them, lol). But I haven't heard of any plans to produce more Ashton-Drake dolls.

Feel free to post pics of your OOAK dolls, too! I, for one, would LOVE to see them! =)

Oooh, my bad Wanda. I was responding/posting to your reply and combined things a bit earlier. Either way that is really awesome. I had always wanted to check out re-enactment events like that. Or even some of the LARPing stuff, even if my acting skills aren't all that great, lol.

I have also tried a bit of photography as well when I was in school. It was really fun. But I think my fave medium for art is pottery. And still open to try glass blowing.

And totally love your dolls as well. Feel free to share more of your pictures and other stuff as well. Always interesting to learn more about different hobbies and interesting people. :)

Hi Janelle, welcome to the group. I'll be honest and say the books only get juicier after Night Play. Definitely much to speculate on and more interesting characters to learn about along the way. Glad you are enjoying CON too in all it's twisty-turny goodness.
