I have finished
Halfway to the Grave This novel is an action packed page turner, which keeps the reader enthralled. I love the pace of this book, especially when it gathers speed towards it's exciting end. 5 stars
Storm Glass Not as good as the study series but still good. 3 stars
Naked in Death A topical story , with adult interactions, senators, and a shady boyfriend. Recommended, I will be reading more of this author 4 stars
The Coven this second book in the series is fabulous and i would recommend it to anyone, the characters are likeable the plot keeps you interested 4 starsI have started
The Hollow and
Lover Awakened
I finished
WOW, I don't know what I am going to pick up now, it was so fantastic, any book would pale behind it.
JF Patient Zero, #1 Joe Ledger series by Jonathan Maberry. UF, super entertaining, 4.5 stars ... exciting combination of military/cover ops thriller, terrorists, mad scientists, "weaponized" bioterror substance that turns people into zombies.Reread two non-UF favorites: 44 Scotland Street, first in this fun, quirky series by Alexander McCall Smith; and Dexter by Design, #4 Dexter Morgan series by Jeff Lindsay.
Next Up: You Suck, #2 Love Story series by Christopher Moore
I finally finished the short story books Dates From Hell, Holidays Are Hell and Prom Nights from Hell. They have been laying around half read. I didn't think that any of the stories were bad. Some = good and others = so so, light reading. I think I'll start on Hotter Than Hell. I continue to read Linger
I'm trying to rationalize getting Moning's Shadowfever in hardcover even though it won't match my paperbacks of the previous 4 books- is that neurotic or what?
I finished Both
and
giving book 2 of the Vampire Huntress series a 5 star and giving The 6th in the Vampire Academy series 4 stars. Im now reading and almost finished with
I am reading an urban fantasy-
Children of the Night by Mercedes Lackey-so far it's very interestingand Squirrel Seeks Chipmunk: A Modest Bestiary by David Sedaris and Ian Falconer-dark humor
Sheila wrote: "I'm rereading Patricia Briggs' Bone Crossed, before going on to her latest, Silver Borne. I love the Mercy Thompson books, and also the Alpha and Omega series."I concur. I'm waiting for the next one in the Mercy novels on March 1st to come out and was wondering what else is a good urban paranormal read while I wait. Any suggestions?
I like the Mercy Thompson series as well, and recommend it to everyone along with Devon Monk's Allison Beckstrom series, Carrie Vaughn's Kitty the Werewolf series, Seanan McGuire's new series about half-elf October Daye, and with some reservations, anything by Yasmine Galenorn
I have finished Lover Awakened
The Third book in this excellent series is the best yet. Zsadist was amazing. 5 StarsSpider's Bite
I would definitely recommend this book as a sexy, sassy read, especially if you're looking for the type of book where the female lead is strong, autonomous, smart and sexy. 3 StarsDarkfever
Darkfever is the first novel in the Fever series by Karen Marie Moning. This book is full of mystery, revenge and tension. If you're looking for a fantastic supernatural tale that doesn't degenerate into an orgy, this might just be the one for you dont judge this book by it cover. 4 starsBitten & Smitten
They story is utterly captivating and fun. The heroine is very easy-going and she made me wonder numerous of times, if it is actually possible to keep such a cold head under such "disturbing" circumstances. I enjoyed reading this book immensely, and would definitely recommend it to paranormal romance/mystery fans. 4 stars
Tempting the Beast
I like erotic fiction as much as the next person, and this series had real potential but it transcended a lot of the boundaries I'd previously read. This was the first Lora Leigh book I've read, and I was looking forward to trying something different, but now I won't be in any real hurry to rush out and read the rest of this series, unfortunately, unless they're a marked improvement from book one!. 3 stars for the plot I am now reading The Iron Daughter
and A Hunger Like No Other
and still reading
The Hollow
I am reading and enjoying
which is in the same universe as the author's delightful "The Care and Feeding of Your Baby Killer Unicorn" (or something) from
.In Rampant Astrid is a unicorn slayer-- who knew they needed slaying? Diana Peterfreund!
Just finished
and now I am waiting for my copy of
. Should have been here yesterday, but the German mailing company is a bit slow these days -.-
Just picked up Play Deadlatest in the Mason and Lou series. It's quick and I think Levitt's getting a little too into the alternate worlds aspect of the storyline, but fun as usual.
Recently finished with:
- really good book (4th in the series) - Sirantha is now in my top 5 female characters category.
- Was alright, but nothing to write to mother about.
- Is a wonderful YA book with mysteries around every corner, plus a wee bit of romance thrown in.
- Can I just say that I truly hate cliffhangers? Other than that, excellent book to read.Next up:
- Current

and
I started off reading both
and
. (its weird but its my usual pattern lol) anyway..I'm enjoying both but Darynda Jones new book ensnared me lol(I highly recommend it). And so, I will be finishing up the other book next.
I just finished Rivers of London by Ben Aaronovitch. It was pretty good, especially for a debut novel. I'll definitely be reading more of this series.
NOTHING! I read the Hunger Games as part of the challenge, and then had to read the rest of the trilogy straight away. It consumed me and I ignored everything but work so I have to take a break and not get engrossed in another book for a bit so my boyfriend doesn't hate me!!! :)
Ha Ha! Thanks Becca. I was curled up with in a fleece blanket, with my pup and my book for hours after work and he would sit on the couch next to me and pout saying "You don't need me...you have your blankie, your puppy and your book"....LOL Poor guy! :)
I started reading The Golden Compass and Ballad: A Gathering of Faerie again. I put Ballad down about a year ago. I think I was burned out on the Faerie/Fae theme. I am more accepting this time around. I had deserted 'The Golden Compass' in order to read new books from other favored authers. I am enjoying both books.
Clearly Jessie,You need to get him a blankie and a book and possibly a puppy so you two can read together.
I've finished Ascendant (and my husband finished
) and I'm reading
.
Hey, new to this group (I am getting into so many groups that my TBR pile is humugous..lol) Anyway, I am reading a couple of books
Though I think Bloodfever is pulling out in front to be finished first..LOL I am really liking this series.
I just finished the Chicagoland Vampires yesterday and started the Downside Ghost series by Stacia Kane. I loved the Chicagoland Vampires and can't wait for the 4th book to come out but this Downside Ghost series is really weird. I can't seem to get into it and only made it to chapter 2 so far.
Lisa MH wrote: "I've finished
. It was good, but I never really connected to Kate. I liked the world and other characters better than her. Hmmm. I hear the other books get better so I'..."The Kate Daniels series does get so much better as the series goes on . I really grew to love Kate and some of the other characters in the series. The Mercy Thompson series was great too. I just hate waiting for the other books in the series to come out.
