Chachic Not yet, I'll post a review tomorrow. Are you curious about the urban fantasy genre? Heidi was asking about this book as well. I told her that if she wants to read something from the genre, I recommend the Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews.

message 302: by Chachic (new)

Chachic LOL, I see adult urban fantasy as different from YA urban fantasy. Moon Called was a little slow for me in some parts but I think it's a good start to a promising series. Right now, I still love the Kate Daniels series more but that can change when I finish reading the rest of the Mercy Thompson books.

Just finished reading CATCHING FIRE..."

Yeah, I've heard that the first will be called The Gathering. I read an excerpt (sp?) of it in The Reckoning. Which was your favourite book from the darkest power trilogy? Mine was The Summoning for sure, but they were all amazing!

message 304: by Ashley (new)

Ashley (readerandwriter) I just got done reading The Rainbow Cedar by Gerri Hill by Gerri Hill. This book is a lesbian romance novel. I am now reading another LRN called Fresh Tracks by Georgia Beers by Georgia Beers. I am unfamiliar with this author so it should be interesting.

That's the way I felt about CF too … it was too much like the first book all over again (and to be honest I'm not a huge fan of HG to begin with). :/

YAY! :D My friend just finished reading Ask and the Answer last night––she wrote me a ranting note on my Facebook wall, lol. She loved it. :) Luckily I gave her Monsters of Men yesterday :D

Can't wait to hear what you think!

Sooo yeah. Right now I am reading:

Linger (The Wolves of Mercy Falls, #2) by Maggie Stiefvater Ash by Malinda Lo The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (Millennium, #1) by Stieg Larsson The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafón

HOORAY! :)

Brigid I just finshed Linger. I liked Cole, but Sam annoyed my with his pining ways. All together I gave it 3 stars. Not as good as Shiver IMHO. I loved the Milenium Trilogy (Girl WTDT) - I listened to all three on audio, and I love the narrator. The first book is a slow mover, but well worth it :)

Kourtni I hope you like The Ask more than the first book :)

message 312: by Kourtni (new)

Kourtni (kourkyloo) | 732 comments I started to like the first book a lot more about halfway through. The second one seems to have picked up where the first left off.

message 313: by Brigid ✩ (new)

Brigid ✩ | 2471 comments Mod
I felt the same way. I wasn't really attached to the first book until I got about halfway through it. Second and third books had me hooked from first page to last, though. :)

message 314: by Cass (new)

Cass (casswordsonpaper) GLIMMERGLASS by Jenna Black. 60% finished. It's taken me 3 weeks... :\ Not that the book is bad. I don't really know what it is. Perhaps it is because it is on the computer, and I'm used to physical books now.

message 315: by Chloe (new)

Chloe (chloebooklover) | 33 comments Finished The Forest of Hands and Teeth (Amazing!) and right now I'm reading The Year I Turned Sixteen.

I do plan on reading Mockingjay … although it probably won't be for a while after it comes out, because I went to request it from the library and there were already like 300 holds on it (eek!). I have a lot of issues with the series––I don't hate them, but I don't really like them either. I just feel out of the loop if I don't read them, since everyone else does. :P

message 317: by Chachic (new)

Chachic Still in the middle of the Mercy Thompson books. I'm currently reading the third one:

Iron Kissed (Mercedes Thompson, #3) by Patricia Briggs

message 318: by Chachic (new)

Chachic I finished the third book last night and I need a breather! I'm putting the fourth one on hold and reading this one in the meantime:

The Year Of Secret Assignments (Ashbury/Brookfield, #2) by Jaclyn Moriarty

I also decided to start on a YA book because it might be easier to finish while I wait for Mockingjay here.

message 319: by Amelia (new)

Amelia | 38 comments I'm back!! Just finished a whole slew of books on my vacation!

The Sky Is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson Ostrich Boys by Keith Gray Scumble by Ingrid Law Max Cassidy Escape from Shadow Island by Paul Adam For Keeps by Natasha Friend Lockdown by Walter Dean Myers The Night Fairy by Laura Amy Schlitz Best Friends Forever A World War II Scrapbook by Beverly Patt

Now I have to blog them all, catch up on e-mails, and adjust to this three hour time change...

message 320: by Chachic (new)

Chachic Wow, you were able to finish so many books, A.M.Y.! Glad you included The Sky is Everywhere in there.

message 321: by Cass (new)

Cass (casswordsonpaper) SHUG by Jenny Han. It has a To Kill A Mockingbird - Stargirl feel. Which is good, as I enjoyed both of them.

Kourtni (kourkyloo) | 732 comments Just finished The Ask and the Answer (Chaos Walking, #2) by Patrick Ness last night. It was crazy! I don't even know what to say about that ending, it was as nuts as the last book. I must read Monsters of Men (Chaos Walking, #3) by Patrick Ness !!

message 323: by Brigid ✩ (new)

That ending drove me crazy too! Monsters of Men is a-freaking-mazing though, so you have something to look forward to. :] One of my friends just finished it and was freaking out about it on Facebook this morning. :D

At last!!!

Brigid- I have so many askings about The Ask and the Answer (Chaos Walking, #2) by Patrick Ness . Guess I'll just have to find out in the last book! Wow, that was super corny. Hope you like The Sky Is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson !! I loved it!

1017 had major problems! Wasn't the second book even better than the first? Brigid cheated and already got the third book from the UK.

message 331: by Kourtni (new)

Kourtni (kourkyloo) | 732 comments The second book was so so much better!

I have a confession...I'm a cheater too. I bought the third book from the UK Amazon today!

message 332: by Amy (new)

Amy (aaammmyyy) I was able to get Clockwork Angel because I was on vacation in London and they had it early in their bookstores! It's paperback though, so I'm going to purchase a hardcover US version when it comes out Tuesday.

I can't explain why I liked it better than TMI, but Will (from CA) is just as awesome as Jace :D Actually, I think it might be because I like Tessa better than Clary personality-wise :) I can't wait till Tuesday so I can really discuss it with other people!

Ok. I am going to do that too! I can't be behind you all. When is the US release?

message 334: by Chachic (new)

Chachic Clockwork Angel is already available here in the Philippines too! I don't know why the bookstore got it early. LOL I'm going to wait for reviews before I get it though.

Chloe (chloebooklover) | 33 comments At the moment I'm on the last 20 pages of Rhymes With Witches. It is a LOT better than I ever expected from it. It has a lot more depth than I thought it would.

Chachic I started reading Mockingjay today and I just finished it. Still need some time to absorb everything though!

Linger is most def. a cliff hanger ending. I liked it, but not as much as Shiver. Sam annoyed me with his spineless "I'm so in love" thoughts. I liked the new wolf, Cole, which made the book worth reading.

message 339: by Brigid ✩ (new)

Brigid ✩ | 2471 comments Mod
Yup, what a cliffie. Funny, I liked Linger better than Shiver! I thought it was more exciting. And awww I love Sam. Although I wish he and Grace would get into more arguments; they're a bit TOO perfect. Cole is awesome too!

message 340: by Chachic (new)

How come Clockwork Angel comes out earlier in every other country?! Comes out in the US on Wednesday. :( I WANT TO READ IT SO BAD.

Shiver and Linger are great, in my opinion. Yes, they are very lovey-dovey, but they don't annoy me the way other paranormal romances do. I wouldn't say there's much "action" in it, but I love the writing and it's an interesting twist on the whole paranormal-romance/werewolf story. Love 'em.

message 343: by Amy (new)

message 346: by Amy (new)

Amy (aaammmyyy) Ouch that sucks! Mine starts September 9, which is abnormally late. I'd rather start earlier and end earlier, too. Especially next summer, so I'll get a longer break in between high school and uni!

The US release is right around the corner. I believe it's September 28th. So I'm only getting it a couple weeks early, plus I fell in love with the UK cover for some crazy reason. You should buy it anyways! Peer pressure!!

I feel like a repeater, as I already posted this on my other group, but I am currently reading Mockingjay (Hunger Games, #3) by Suzanne Collins and listening to Honey, Baby, Sweetheart by Deb Caletti .
