Hello everyone. I read some WW2 stuff, so I thought I would finally join the group. In the past, I usually turned toward the European theater, but lately, I want to read more in the Pacific side.
Welcome to the group, Bryan. Lots of great books on the Pacific War out there--here's a few I'd recommend:
The Last Stand of the Tin Can Sailors: The Extraordinary World War II Story of the U.S. Navy's Finest Hour
Hell from the Heavens: The Epic Story of the USS Laffey and World War II's Greatest Kamikaze Attack
Target Tokyo: Jimmy Doolittle and the Raid That Avenged Pearl Harbor
Indestructible: One Man's Rescue Mission That Changed the Course of WWII
We Band Of Brothers
Clear the Bridge!: The War Patrols of the U.S.S. Tang
Crisis in the Pacific

Welcome Bryan, great to have you join. Consider getting started on more bookshelves...this group tends to expand your TBR pile.
Thanks AR and Mike!I am already looking at the Pacific War thread and everyone has some great titles.
This group will surely grow my reading pile.
Hello everyone, just finished reading neon by Paddy Ashdown and “Hitlers war” by David lrving. I’m new to this group and a bit of a new comer to history books.

Hi this is Clara. I’m 18 years old and I am homeschooled. I love WW2, it’s my favorite era of music and history! My favorite heroes are Desmond Doss, Corrie ten Boom, the Churchill’s, and Princess Alice of Battenberg.

Hi everyone. Just thought I occasionally scourge the group for new reads even though there's about 10 book in shelf waiting for reading and about 50 books in "wishlist". But you never know when those run out(most likely in 2023 by this pace).
Basically joined Goodreads to keep better track of my history collection that's becoming to go near 100.
Interest in the topic started around when I was 10 and was on and off until I finished my MA(early 2014) and got to reading for leisure again.
Mostly read in English that's not my native language. I usually buy all my books and rather not collect books that I won't read.

Greetings, I´m a tank enthusiast and WWIII history buff from Portugal. I am mostly interested in tank related books, but also world War 2 and modern warfare themes.

Hi EveryoneI have just discovered the existence of this group from my new GR friend Aussie Rick – cheers, Rick! Obviously, I was not paying attention before, lol.
I am looking forward to reading your comments and participating in the discussions.
I have recently finished Alan Moorhead's Desert War trilogy (Mediterranean Front, A Year of Battle and The End in Africa) which are beautifully written as well as packed full of fascinating information.
I'm not currently reading a WWII history book because I have a free book (novel) to review but I have a new book about D-Day just published last year that I am looking forward to reading soon – Normandy '44, D-Day and the Battle for France (James Holland), which contains updated information after the de-classification of historical records; I can't wait!
Best regards, All
Gary
Welcome to the group Gary, hopefully you'll find Normandy '44 interesting. Be prepared for a lot if wallet emptying recommendations!
Hi Gary, glad to see you here, I am sure you will find a few things of interest and hopefully have some fun along the way.

Welcome to the group, Gary.
I'm Theresa. I've been on Goodreads and have been friends with several of you for a while now, but am just now getting around to joining the group. Live in Colorado. Married. Mother of three. Work full-time and read whenever I can. Only child of a career Army officer and grand-daughter of two WWII veterans. Huge passion for WWII and Holocaust history.
A warm welcome to the group Theresa :)Here is our thread on the Holocaust:

If you ski, I hope you have snow in Colorado, if you're driving the children to school, I hope you don't.
I have a feeling that being members of this group may mean we incur considerable extra book expenses!
