Just started Along Came a Spider. It distrubed me a little that a 12 yr old boy could murder a 20 month old baby in the beginning of the book. I hope it gets better.
Finished Gone Girl and now on to The Caller by Karin Fossum. Also finished Gone by Mo Hayder. What a writer.!!!!!
I read Gone Girl and have her two previous books on TBR pile. Also read Gone..... I added the rest of the series on my Wish List. Both GREAT books. Now reading The Light Between The Oceans. Wasn't sure about it at first, but now I'm into it, I'm enjoying it.
I just finished Lies of Convenience by M.M. Gornell, and it was an outstanding book. I couldn't put it down. She's writing the Route 66 mystery series so each book has a whole new cast of characters. I find myself hoping they'll come back in another book.
Karen wrote: "I just finished Stephen King's 11/22/63. It was FABULOUS. So well done! This may be one of my favorite books of the year."I think this book is more difficult to read if you lived those four days. The photo on the back was agonizing. Is it just me?
I finished Live and Let Die this morning and enjoyed it very much. It was as good a read as I remembered from the last time I read it. Starting Deadeye Dick by Kurt Vonnegut next.
Just finished The Game by Laurie R. King. Next up, Locked Rooms, also by King. Loving the Mary Russell series!
Erin wrote: "Next i'm gonna read Shock Wave. Love the Virgil Flowers series!!"One of my favorites as well ... just finished
Just finished Mad River. Excellent read! Began reading A Cold Treachery by Charles Todd. This is my first Todd novel. Hope its good.
June wrote: "I just started The Light Between The Oceans and am not sure about it yet. The first couple of chapters didn't do it for me, but I give a book about 75-100 pages before I call it quits."A brilliant book, one I'd call a favourite this year so far! If you're interested, my review is here http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...
I finished Absolute Power by David Baldacci. The president and secret service get up to some shady stuff in this book. Interesting plot and characters.
I finished The Third Option by Vince Flynn. It was good but it wasn't as good as the other four I've read. Tomorrow I'll pick up John Grisham's newest one The Racketeer
Elizabeth wrote: "Finished Gone Girl and now on to The Caller by Karin Fossum. Also finished Gone by Mo Hayder. What a writer.!!!!!"I agree, Elizabeth. Mo Hayder is brilliant.

I have finished it...it was brilliant! 5 stars for me, and I'll do a review soon:)

"Enjoy, Julie. This is one series where you really do need to read the first one first. Otherwise, it is difficult to get into the characters. The first book sets up the relationships.

Half way done and I love the two brothers.
Ctgt wrote: "Just finished The Redbreast, which I really enjoyed and am starting Blood Land."Redbreast was an excellent read.
Started the Fallen AngelThe Fallen Angel: A Novel. Great series - I think Gabriel Allon is a fantastic character and I love all the art history.I highly recommend the series but I do suggest starting with earlier ones. Enjoy!
Just finished A Simple Murder, about a murder in a shaker community in the early 20th century. Now reading Broken Harbour by Tana French...she is a wonderful suspense author and I am loving this, her newest book!
Finished Don't Look Back by Karin Fossum this evening and enjoyed my intro to Inspector Sejer very much. I will be reading more. Starting Grave Goods, the third Mistress of the Art of Death novel.
Diane wrote: "Half way done and I love the two brothers...."I loved Trust Your Eyes too, the brothers really grow on you. Enjoyed it so much I intend to re-read The Accident, which is the only Linwood Barclay book I didn't love... maybe I was just 'off' when I read it first.
Finished The Good Thief's Guide to Paris. Sort of a rocky start, rather confusing, but it may have been because I had to put it down and pick it up a few times. It did come together nicely, however, and I did enjoy it.
On to The Keeper of Lost Causes for my in person group next week.

I just started Chris Pavone's 'The Expats' - it's been on sale for 20p and at the top of the charts for weeks, so I thought I'd better check it out!

This is a fantastic series, isn't it? I'm presently taking a moratorium on all books that are serious and/or cause stress, so I've put the fifth Gabriel book away until after the holiday season. (laughing) Once the madness is over in January, I'll pick them back up again. Right now, if I listen to or read a mystery/thriller, it has to be in the cozy category. I'll make an exception for next month's Mitch Rapp, and probably for Harry Bosch, but otherwise, I'm completely zen. (smile)
I'm reading The Camel Club by David Baldacci. About terrorists and conspiracies and shenanigans in the U.S. Secret Service.
I am fairly new to this group and have enjoyed reading some of the posts and seeing what other people are reading. I just finished reading
and really enjoyed the book. Has anyone else read this book or any of the Will Trent series? If so, what did you think of the book?

It was nice to see the relationship of Evelyn and Amanda and how they got to be so close. If you like this book you should read the first in the Grant County series, Blindsighted.

Finished Catherine the Great by Robert K. Massie and Chevalier's Remarkable Creatures. Now am into Munster's Case by Hakan Nessar, the first of his that I have read. Don't even know for sure if any others are translated. Seems really good so far. And it's good to be on a mystery again. I haven't read one for a while. How unlike me at this stage of my reading life!
