Regina (reginar) I honestly do not remember the flashback for #1 -- I read #1 about 9 years ago, lol. And even though I own the audio and ebook I have never re-read it.

message 152: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) #1 was the flashback with (view spoiler). It as a good one.

message 153: by Leea (new)

Leea You're getting to some of my favorite parts :) It start really moving at this point.

message 154: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I just can't wait for Stan to realize how Teri feels about him! I mean (view spoiler)

message 155: by Leea (new)

Leea Those two. Ugh! It's a very happy ending. *squeal*

When do you want to read the next one? We're still doing Special forces saturday?

message 156: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I don't think I'll be ready, haha. I can start it either saturday or sunday.

message 157: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) It was such a long time ago that the summaries don't help. :) I just do not remember!

The ending is CRAZY. But done so well. Can you imagine waiting a year for the next book????

message 158: by Leea (new)

Leea Is Brockmann done with the Troubleshooters series? No, I hate waiting for books to be released (Cough... Gabaldon... Cough).

message 159: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Leea, she talks about this in my two-day interview with her but, you shouldn't read that interview until you are done with #14 -- or do not click on the spoiler in that interview and read it after you read Sam and Alyssa's book. :) Anyway, she said she is not done with the series at all. Right now there are 16 books out so you have a long way to go. LOL. In addition to those 16 there are two short stories involve m/m relationships When Tony Met Adam (Troubleshooters, #12.5) by Suzanne Brockmann Headed for Trouble by Suzanne Brockmann and Headed for Trouble is not yet published -- sometime later this year or early net year. :) So you have a lot to look forward to! And 16 did not end with a cliffhanger nor did it end with any hanging romances. :)

message 160: by Leea (new)

Leea In Over the Edge, Alyssa's FBI partner is gay and he is in a relationship, do we get a book about him? I like him and find it so fascinating his relationship with Sam.

I can't wait for Defiant (MacKinnon's Rangers, #3) by Pamela Clare :)

message 161: by Regina (last edited Apr 26, 2012 09:10AM) (new)

Regina (reginar) Jules plays a significant role in almost every single book. He has a co-starring role in Hot Target (Troubleshooters, #8) by Suzanne Brockmann Breaking Point (Troubleshooters, #9) by Suzanne Brockmann and Force of Nature (Troubleshooters, #11) by Suzanne Brockmann and then we get his main romance in All Through the Night A Troubleshooter Christmas (Troubleshooters, #12) by Suzanne Brockmann those four are some of my favorites. :)

His relationship with Sam is a great one, it definitely changes and grows. There are some great emails and good nicknames between them.

I can't wait for Defiant either!

message 162: by Leea (new)

Leea Yay! Thanks Regina! It's so hard because I want to keep reading but I also want to wait to read them with Wendy. Sometimes I devour a series and then I burn out, I don't want to do that with these.

message 163: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) LOL, I'm at 80% right now. Today is my company day so I doubt I'll finish it though, which stinks. Leea, I have to read something YA after this, and then we're still shooting for Special Forces, right? But I can move on to the next one during the week next week?

message 164: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Yay for Special Forces! I have to read two arcs for next week The Killing Moon (Dreamblood, #1) by N.K. Jemisin Living Proof by Kira Peikoff and I am hoping to get Deadlocked (Sookie Stackhouse #12) by Charlaine Harris (yes I am crazy) but I will be able to do it at the same time as Special Forces.

message 165: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I'm on the fence about the new Sookie book. I was thinking about that the other day. I may get rid of my print books. It just doesn't hold me the way they used to. I was REALLY unhappy with the last one.

message 166: by Leea (new)

Leea I'm ready for Special Forces when you ladies are... We still thinking Sat? Also, we're reading this copy Special Forces - Soldiers (Special Forces, #1) by Marquesate ? Or the other?

I'm also on the fence about the Sookie books, I was unhappy with the last one. I liked the ending and Sookies clean slate but I'm not going to pay full price for this one, nope!

The killing Moon looks good, can't wait for your review.

Wendy, take your time. Let me know when you want to read the next one (Troubleshooter book), no rush - ever :) You know how impulsive I can be about books I love.

message 167: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Ha, I have the same impulse.

I say we start just with that one. We can break them up into the individual stories.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) And delete that post. I wandered into the wrong topic, haha.

message 169: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) That sounds like a plan.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) How short are the individual stories?

message 171: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Goodreads has Soldiers at 559 pages.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) But that's a bunch of stories in one book, correct?

message 173: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) No, Soldiers is just the first story. Then you have Mercenaries 1 and Mercenaries 2, and then the last one is called Veteran's.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Oh wow that's long.

message 175: by Regina (last edited Apr 26, 2012 04:55PM) (new)

Regina (reginar) I don't think so. I think it is like this:

Special Forces - Soldiers (Special Forces, #1) by Marquesate Special Forces - Mercenaries Part I (Special Forces, #2 part 1) by Marquesate Special Forces - Mercenaries Part II (Special Forces, #2 part 2) by Marquesate Special Forces - Veterans (Special Forces, #3) by Marquesate

But I haven't spent much time figuring it out so I could be wrong. http://www.marquesate.org/special-for...

And each story has around 450-650 pages. But each story is one books/story in the arc.

This from here: http://www.marquesate.org/free-readin... "the epic consists of three cycles: Soldiers, Mercenaries and Veterans"

message 176: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Sorry I didn't know Wendy was posting.

message 177: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) LOL, we're so efficient.

message 178: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Maybe obsessive! :)

message 179: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) That too, hahahaha

message 180: by Leea (new)

Leea I haven't been getting notifications again.

Wow those are long... i'm in for the long haul. hehe!

message 181: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I'm looking forwar. I've heard such amazing things about this series.

message 182: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I finished!! Again, sneaking and reading my Kindle at work. I'm only two days late!

It was so good! My favorite so far, definitely.

message 183: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) The ending is heartbreaking.

message 184: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Ugh, it was like a kick to the balls. I'll admit that since I'm a synopsis reader (view spoiler). So I had a feeling that that's how it would end, it still didn't stop me from aching. I was just glad that Alyssa understood.

message 185: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) That synopsis is horrible, it ruined it for a GR friend of mine. Brockmann does the marriage really well over the next two books. I like how she had the people reacting to real life issues. Although the fact that he just got on a flight still in his clothes from working outside I found unbelievable - -it is hard to just get on a plane. :)

message 186: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) hahaha, I had to remind myself that it was written in 2001, so it may have been easier at that time. Like maybe it was before 911

message 187: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Very true. I seem to remember hearing that its publication was delayed bc of 9/11 but I could be making that up (the entire set up -- terrorist plane, etc)

message 188: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) yeah, I can imagine that it probably would have been touchy.

message 189: by Leea (new)

Leea Yeah, I found that unbelievable. Plus if he's like any military man (or man in my family) I know, he's got a pocket knife on him at all time. haha! I still loved that he had to tell her in person and flew across the country to do so :)

message 190: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Me too. It was such a genuine gesture. I just have done that flight -- LA to DC and it ain't easy.

message 191: by Leea (new)

Leea No it's not. My husband used to do the SF-DC flight a few times a year and he always got stuck somewhere... It's not fun!

message 192: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) I just saw him stuck on the plane, in these dirty clothes and nothing to read. Torture! But he is a Navy SEAL, I guess he can deal.

message 193: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) I am glad your husband doesn't have to anymore. Even flying from Chicago is a pain!

message 194: by Leea (last edited Apr 27, 2012 04:00PM) (new)

Leea I bet. Jim used to get stuck there all the time. He used to get stuck when he flew every other week (I was just pregnant with Gar and our house was on the market in TX... it was the worst 6 months ever.) from Sac - San Antonio. It was crazy! He has the worse plan luck of any man. haha! I used to fly home from San Diego - Sac. (when I was in college) and that's the best flight. haha!

message 195: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) I have actually never gotten stuck anywhere while flying which is crazy bc I fly alot for work, except for in DC after 9/11 and I had to drive home. But I flew out there on 9/9/01 (first day of work at new law firm was on 9/10/01) and then I couldn't get a flight home, so I had to drive. I probably have jinxed myself mow.

San Diego Sacramet is probably like a 30 minute flight? Those are the best -- up and down.

message 196: by Leea (new)

Leea It's a quick 45 min... just enough time for a beer and then you land. haha! It used to be so cheap, under $80 round trip vs. 7 hrs in the car.

For some reason I'm still not getting updates for this thread. Strange?

message 197: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Gah, What is UP with GR????

message 198: by Leea (new)

Leea Not sure but it's been all wonky for at least a week, if not longer. It's beyond old now. Ugh!

message 199: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) I just added a new short story to my post at the beginning of this thread: Beginnings and Ends (Troubleshooters) by Brockmann, Suzanne was just released today. :)

message 200: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Awesome! I can't wait to finish my book and start 4.
