message 101: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I'm not sure I'll finish it tonight. (The Voice is on.) But it's hard because all I want to do is keep reading. It's hooked me.

Leea, I can't wait to read your review.

My copy of Lover Reborn should arrive in the mail tomorrow, I'm so excited! Even with the spoiler, I'm excited.

message 102: by Leea (new)

Leea Was it a big spoiler? I'm waiting to start something new because I want to read Lover Reborn...

I gave it 3.5 stars... I can't wait to chat with you about a few key things that happen.

Where are you at with David and Mallory? Love them!

message 103: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Um, David and Mallory have plans to (view spoiler).

It was a very big spoiler, lmao. About my favorite future couple.

message 104: by Leea (new)

Leea That sucks! Grrr... Make you're spoilers people.

I love Mal and David so much... When Joe told Tom that, he was so right. Okay, I can't wait for you to finish :)

message 105: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) LOL, I'm reading reading reading!

message 106: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I am so scared that David is going to die... I just have this really awful terrible feeling... ugh! I only have about 15% left, but I'm dreading it because it's the climax.

message 107: by Leea (new)

Leea Ahhhh!! I'm so excited for you to read the rest. Don't be scared ;)

message 108: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) That's a bit reassuring! I just got to the part where (view spoiler).

message 109: by Theresa (new)

Unless they start up again, it looks like the WW2 sub plots end with book 6. It was Noah's grandparents' story. Yes, I LOVED Sam's history. It really makes you understand and love him. It's funny, because I didn't like him at all in Unsung Hero.

Overall, I liked Flashpoint, but I did have some trouble with it. I think it was because of the fact that I was coming off reading Gone Too Far, which is a peak of the Sam & Alyssa storyline. Another problem I had was the details in the K-Stan politics. It really irks me, the way women are degraded and devalued! She hinted at it in the previous books, but in Flashpoint she delves into it. I did enjoy the story and the characters. I'm looking forward to seeing some of the old characters again!

message 110: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) The flashbacks never come back. I think Hot Target is next? That was a really good one too. Not much military action though.

message 111: by Leea (new)

Leea Wendy F wrote: "That's a bit reassuring! I just got to the part where [spoilers removed]."

I got really emotional at that part and I had a tear in my eye at the end of Unsung Hero.

message 112: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) FINISHED!!! Whew, that was good! I'd say a 3.5, but for goodreads I gave it a 4 star because it was on that side of 3.5, lol.

Reviewed. I'm going to see who the next one is about. But definitely reading Lover Reborn first.

message 113: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) I am starting LR with you! I am frantically finishing up the book I was reading first.

Yay - -I can take my hands away from my eyes now and look at your reviews. :)

message 114: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) LOL!! I'm a bit bummed that they next few aren't about any characters I met. I see that 4 is about Wildcard though.

message 115: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Wildcard and Tom will be in all of them. So you will see them again. :) not the other characters. But wildcard's book is one of my very favorite in the series.

message 116: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) That's good! I'm hoping I get to know more of them.

message 117: by Leea (new)

Leea Wildcard is HOT! Yeah, the next one looks good. Well it sounds intriguing. I've never been a romantic suspense fan. I really enjoyed the multi layered storyline.

Well there are 16 member in the SEAL team - right?

message 118: by Leea (new)

Leea Started Over the Edge (Troubleshooters, #3) by Suzanne Brockmann today and I love it. Took me a few chapters to get all the SEAL team names and nick names again but I can't wait to Stan and Teri to fall head over heals in love with each other :)

message 119: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I was just gonna come in here and talk about it too!

It's so good! How far are you Leea?

message 120: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) And the really cool thing is you will get to know all of those names very I depth as the series progresses.

Yay! Glad you are liking it. Where are you ladies at?

message 121: by Leea (new)

Leea I'm at chapter 6...

(view spoiler)

Where are you at?

message 122: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I'm a little bit past that, though I'm not reading at the moment.

I like (view spoiler).

message 123: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Max is the negotiator right? I love him. I really like Gina too. She is amazing. She goes through alot.

message 124: by Leea (new)

Leea Does max get a book? I love him. Yeah poor Gina. I'm up to chap 11

message 125: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Max is already married, right? I think that's mentioned in this one. I'm glad Gina gets more of the story.

You read so much faster than me. You could already be ahead of me.

message 126: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) No. He isn't married.

message 127: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) sorry arguing with the hubby so piecemeal responses - yes he gets a book.

message 128: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Oh, cool!

message 129: by Leea (new)

Leea Yeah, he's not married. Oh good he gets a book. Gina (view spoiler)

message 130: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Oh man, I want to read that spoiler so bad... you're definitely ahead of me now. I'm going to read in a minute on my work break. But I'm only on chapter 8.

message 131: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) I agree Leea, he is sexy. I also like his house. :) I found that so sweet about him. I love the back and forth between Max and Gina and the tension Max feels, that it is getting to him -- the white ironed shirts, his perfect shave. I love that man.

The entire set up and tension with Stan, Terri and was it Mike? drove me crazy!

message 132: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) The book after this one is one of my all time favorites in the series Out of Control (Troubleshooters, #4) by Suzanne Brockmann but I am getting ahead of myself. :D

message 133: by Leea (new)

Leea Regina wrote: "I agree Leea, he is sexy. I also like his house. :) I found that so sweet about him. I love the back and forth between Max and Gina and the tension Max feels, that it is getting to him -- the w..."

While reading your post I just kept saying 'Yes' hahaha!

Stans house... bungalow, I love that man.

Max with his $3000 dollar suits (um, he works for the FBI? theres a story there)

**Sorry Wendy**
Stan and Teri, Chapter 12 (view spoiler)

How Brockmann is mixing the past and the present is great!

message 134: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Regina wrote: "The entire set up and tension with Stan, Terri and was it Mike? drove me crazy!"

This is driving me insane. It's reminiscent of Butch and Marissa, so much that should just be said to save them all grief. I mean, they both (view spoiler)!

You don't have to apologize Leea, lol. I'll get there eventually. I'm really loving the book a lot.

message 135: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Well, I think Max is at the top of the top -- this isn't a spoiler, but he has direct contact with the president and goes to important briefings. My understanding that FBI agents get paid well, but he is way at the top -- so he is likely getting paid really well. But I could be wrong.

The past and present in this one is done brilliantly, it is also done really well in #4. I agree completely Leea and Wendy about the Stan/Terri/Mike mess!

And Leea, she so needed that from Stan. It was so upsetting.

About Alyssa and Sam, they are so damned Hot. I love that they are complete opposites in a way. And I love that angry tension.

message 136: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I love that they're not perfect too. Not just physically, but also emotionally and in their personality. I love Sam a LOT, it's hard when she's mean to him. But at the same time, his homophobic comments drive me banana's. It's refreshing that she gave them realistic flaws.

message 137: by Leea (new)

Leea You're right about Max, he's their top negotiator. She should get paid a lot...

Yeah, Sams comments drive me crazy. Other than those comments I feel like Alyssa is making judgements about him to protect her heart. If she only knew how he really felt about her... sparks will fly :) When do they get a book? Next? I tend not to read the synopsis for the next book till i'm not with the current one because I don't want to spoil anything.

message 138: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) They feauture in his book and in books 4, 5 and then their book is 6 I think.

message 139: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I love when they're all drawn out like that. It makes it more exciting.

message 140: by Regina (last edited Apr 25, 2012 11:42AM) (new)

Regina (reginar) It is definitely that in this series! Gone Too Far (Troubleshooters, #6) by Suzanne Brockmann (#6) is their book.

Breaking Point (Troubleshooters, #9) by Suzanne Brockmann (#9) is Max's book.

message 141: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Max's book sounds good! (So does Sam's actually.)

I always go read the synopsis ahead of time. I like to know what's coming, haha.

message 142: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Okay, I'm loving this book. But I'm also so frustrated. I would think that someone, one of those smartmouth dudes, would be going 'Ooooh, Stan, she's so into you!'. LOL

message 143: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Haha, you are so right. I remember this book as having great war/military tension too in addition to the sex/love part. The airplane stuff was intense. Oh Max I love you!!!!

message 144: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) This one doesn't really have a clear cut favorite scene for me like the last two. I'm frustrated with Stan and Teri, but I'm also enjoying it too. It'll make the moment they come together so awesome.

I'm LOVING Max and Gina! She just (view spoiler).

Sam and Alyssa are breaking my heart. I just want them to get along and stop ripping each other apart.

I love the flashback too, but this time around I think it's the one I like least.

message 145: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Hmmm, I am thinking of the first flashback ..., the second and now this one ........ah. Okay. I can see why, I await your conclusion about this flashback. I can definitely see what it would be your least favorite. My favorite was in #4, it involved nazi spy intrigue stuff and is told through a published memoir -- published by grandmother of the heroine. So it was a very cool way to do the flashback. My least favorite was in #5, but I also wasn't a fan of #5 at all, but it is a very important transition story to ..... Sam and Alyssa's book. Now there book has a very cool flashback (and the last one in all of the books) -- it involves Sam remembering his childhood.

message 146: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) I love how pushy Gina is with Max. :)

message 147: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Well I like that Helga is getting the start of (view spoiler)

message 148: by Leea (new)

Leea I finished... LOVED IT!!! I'm all giddy and keyed up.

Can't wait to read the next book... let me know when you want to Wendy?

Okay... Max, ummmm wow. He's so dark and mysterious and I cannot believe all that Gina went through. Such a touch lady for sure.

Sam and Alyssa, I sure didn't see that coming. Wendy, you are going to go crazy - Can't wait to chat about it with you.

I agree, this is the first book where the WWII story didn't overshadow the modern day story.

I cannot wait for Max and Sam's book - they look amazing.

Book 4 was my favorite flashback too, but I have to say my least favorite flashback was book 1. I just couldnt stand Cybele. (Was that her name?)

message 150: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I'm at about 70%, I'll finish it tomorrow for sure!
