I just think this particular one morphed into some strange conversation about feeling good about who you are and not letting society tell you what to do. I am just wondering how that all started from a few extra eyebrows!

errr I meant to say "choose to do that." My typing gets worse by the day.Oh I know we go off topic all the time. I couldn't survive in a group where off topic was shunned. Ask Terry, she saw me say something to a lady in the Outlander group when the lady freaked out over a book rec being off topic, even though it was related in a roundabout way.
I can't imagine what would happen if we weren't allowed to get off topic.I think this group has fun, yet intelligent conversations. Look at the deep emotional stuff we drew from EYEBROWS. For reals, we're the best.

I saw someone post that John C. Reilly was in talks over the Haymitch role (has not been cast).Is it just me, or does this seem like a weird choice? I always pictured Haymitch as being worn-out and middle-aged, but still somewhat attractive.

I never thought of Haymitch was a attractive but I've seen this around the web. So this might work for me where it wouldn't work for others.
I actually like John C. Reilly in the role. I never thought of him as attractive either.
Well, Haymitch is said to have been handsome in the past. So, like Stacia, I imagine him pretty worn-out but the kind where you can still see the features that used to be attractive. Like JKR described Sirius in HP3.
I always find it interesting how we all interpret descriptions differently.
I can see how you could look at Haymitch and see someone who used to be attractive. I still like Robert Downey Jr for Haymtich, but I suppose I don't mind John C Reilly.
At first I wasn't sure about John C Reilly, but the more I think about it... I kind of like him.Every film I've seen him in, he's always stood out. I'm reserving judgement.
Although, if RDJ is cast instead... well that wouldn't be too bad either. ;-)
RDJ is who I've had in my head since I first read Haymitch's description. I just think he would be brilliant in the role, but I'm good with whoever.
Another fan favorite for Haymitch who's also frequently mentioned alongside RDJ is Hugh Laurie.
I could see Hugh Laurie too, he's got the look.
John C Reilly is a good actor so I would be ok with him.
ok so got a question for ya, just finished hunger games and wondering.... can Prim still be chosen in future reapings or can Katniss? i Know Katniss already went but it was Prim's name that was chosen so i'm curious how that works, any thoughts???

I love this series. I can't wait for the movie. All the casting so far seems like it could work (I'm reserving judgment on Gale and Peeta for now). I heard online, well I guess I saw online is more accurate, that Stanley Tucci is in talks.... wouldn't he be perfect as Cinna!

Yah I read that too about Stanley Tucci. I pictured Cinna as like mid to late 20s.

He is a really good actor, I think he could play the part well but it's just not what I was picturing. Also I was thinking of Haymitch as attractive and John C. Reilly is not, but he is a good actor too.
Definitely no to Stanley Tucci for Cinna. And I don't like the amount of big names. Please, let young and talented actors get a chance too, dammit.
Oh lord, no Stanley Tucci. Not only has he had supporting roles in way too many movies, I agree that Cinna felt much younger in the books.
I pictured him with better hair. Actually I pictured Richard from Lost only not quite.

A younger version of Richard could work. I still like the idea of a thinner Ian Somerhalder, but he's too well known for the role. It would have been a good role for him pre-Boone when he had the lighter hair.I don't expect everybody to be attractive, because that's not how life is, but both Cinna and Haymitch struck me as at least somewhat attractive.
Cinna in my head is sort of lean and tall - almost delicate looking, Haymitch more of a haggard and used-up, but was once attractive. Maybe almost as if he had bulk at one point and lost some of it so he was a bit saggy or hollow in the face.
I agree, both of them were attractive. But I feel like Katniss mentioned Cinna's attractiveness in the beginning when she first met him. I just DO Not see that one at all!
The cast Wes Bentley as Seneca Crane who I apparently don't remember well enough. That said, I don't mind looking at West Bentley on screen if his IMDB pics are true
Okay, so why does Wes Bentley look more like a good Cinna and Stanley Tucci look more like a Seneca Crane to me.I think they got those flopped.
Wes Bentley does look like Cinna to me, however I'll take Wes Bentley in any small role that looks are not terribly significant.He's purdy.

He sure is, but I completely agree that he would have made a better Cinna.
So one of my friends in another group said that (and I'm not saying this is gospel) John C. Reilly is out for Haymitch, and there are rumors of Woody Harrelson possibly being in the running.

I agree with you there, and I don't think anyone on here was being cruel. It just makes me sad that there are those who are cruel, which probably hurts a child's self-esteem more than anything. I don't see a problem with waxing or tweezing, but I certainly respect the decision not to at such a young age.
