I agree with you there, and I don't think anyone on here was being cruel. It just makes me sad that there are those who are cruel, which probably hurts a child's self-esteem more than anything. I don't see a problem with waxing or tweezing, but I certainly respect the decision not to at such a young age.

Heidi Ok again. It is just some eyebrows here people! Get a grip!

It is NOT JUST EYEBROWS!! This is HUNGER GAMES CASTING!!! Which is, like, super important. Google it if you don't believe me.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Don't kill my will to chat about random crap. Next thing you'll be saying is that we need to talk about books. Why would anyone ever choose to that? How lame.

hahaha! I am not stopping the random chatting by any means. I do it all the time! I just think this particular one morphed into some strange conversation about feeling good about who you are and not letting society tell you what to do. I am just wondering how that all started from a few extra eyebrows!

message 1007: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) But you say that like we don't go off topic all the time...?

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) errr I meant to say "choose to do that." My typing gets worse by the day.

Oh I know we go off topic all the time. I couldn't survive in a group where off topic was shunned. Ask Terry, she saw me say something to a lady in the Outlander group when the lady freaked out over a book rec being off topic, even though it was related in a roundabout way.

Cassi aka Snow White Haggard | 2261 comments I can't imagine what would happen if we weren't allowed to get off topic.

I think this group has fun, yet intelligent conversations. Look at the deep emotional stuff we drew from EYEBROWS. For reals, we're the best.

You all were just getting too serious for me!

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Paula Malcomson was cast as Mrs. Everdeen.

Heidi Ohhh she was great on Deadwood.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I saw someone post that John C. Reilly was in talks over the Haymitch role (has not been cast).

Is it just me, or does this seem like a weird choice? I always pictured Haymitch as being worn-out and middle-aged, but still somewhat attractive.

I never thought of Haymitch was a attractive but I've seen this around the web. So this might work for me where it wouldn't work for others.

message 1020: by Brandi (new)

Brandi I actually like John C. Reilly in the role. I never thought of him as attractive either.

message 1021: by Kurukka (last edited Apr 23, 2011 09:59AM) (new)

Kurukka Well, Haymitch is said to have been handsome in the past. So, like Stacia, I imagine him pretty worn-out but the kind where you can still see the features that used to be attractive. Like JKR described Sirius in HP3.

Cassi aka Snow White Haggard | 2261 comments I always find it interesting how we all interpret descriptions differently.

message 1023: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I can see how you could look at Haymitch and see someone who used to be attractive. I still like Robert Downey Jr for Haymtich, but I suppose I don't mind John C Reilly.

message 1024: by Jo (new)

Jo (jowillwrite) | 26 comments At first I wasn't sure about John C Reilly, but the more I think about it... I kind of like him.
Every film I've seen him in, he's always stood out. I'm reserving judgement.
Although, if RDJ is cast instead... well that wouldn't be too bad either. ;-)

message 1025: by Becca (new)

Becca | 1608 comments RDJ is who I've had in my head since I first read Haymitch's description. I just think he would be brilliant in the role, but I'm good with whoever.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Another fan favorite for Haymitch who's also frequently mentioned alongside RDJ is Hugh Laurie.

message 1027: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I could see Hugh Laurie too, he's got the look.

message 1028: by Heidi (last edited Apr 24, 2011 06:50AM) (new)

Heidi John C Reilly is a good actor so I would be ok with him.

message 1029: by Holly (new)

Holly | 108 comments ok so got a question for ya, just finished hunger games and wondering.... can Prim still be chosen in future reapings or can Katniss? i Know Katniss already went but it was Prim's name that was chosen so i'm curious how that works, any thoughts???

message 1030: by Becca (new)

Becca | 1608 comments She could, but just wait til you read CF and Mockingjay. It's craziness.

message 1031: by Holly (new)

Holly | 108 comments well i think im going to have to buy it on kindle since it will take forever to get from my library or the overdrive library due to popularity. must be good or everyone wouldnt want them!

message 1032: by Heidi (new)

Heidi I bought it after I read it and I only do that for great books.

message 1033: by Jessie Leigh (new)

Jessie Leigh (msjessie) I love this series. I can't wait for the movie. All the casting so far seems like it could work (I'm reserving judgment on Gale and Peeta for now). I heard online, well I guess I saw online is more accurate, that Stanley Tucci is in talks.... wouldn't he be perfect as Cinna!

message 1034: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Oh wow... I pictured Cinna waaaaaaaay younger and more attractive.

message 1035: by Caryn (new)

Caryn (carynreads) Wendy F wrote: "Oh wow... I pictured Cinna waaaaaaaay younger and more attractive."

I agree that I definitely didn't picture Cinna that way, but I think he would be good in that role.

message 1036: by Julie (new)

Julie Yah I read that too about Stanley Tucci. I pictured Cinna as like mid to late 20s.

message 1037: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) He would be good if I can stop myself from thinking him as younger and sexy. I'll have to rework him in my head.

Actually, not anything against the actor, he's great, but this would be the first casting choice made that I'm a bit disappointed in.

message 1038: by Julie (new)

Julie He is a really good actor, I think he could play the part well but it's just not what I was picturing. Also I was thinking of Haymitch as attractive and John C. Reilly is not, but he is a good actor too.

message 1039: by Kurukka (new)

Kurukka Definitely no to Stanley Tucci for Cinna. And I don't like the amount of big names. Please, let young and talented actors get a chance too, dammit.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Oh lord, no Stanley Tucci. Not only has he had supporting roles in way too many movies, I agree that Cinna felt much younger in the books.

Cassi aka Snow White Haggard | 2261 comments I pictured him with better hair. Actually I pictured Richard from Lost only not quite.

message 1042: by Jessie Leigh (new)

Jessie Leigh (msjessie) Wendy F wrote: "Oh wow... I pictured Cinna waaaaaaaay younger and more attractive."

I can see that, but I love him. I think he definitely has the flair for it. And they've scaled up the ages on everyone in the cast so far, it seems like.

message 1043: by Stacia (the 2010 club) (last edited May 03, 2011 03:41PM) (new)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) A younger version of Richard could work. I still like the idea of a thinner Ian Somerhalder, but he's too well known for the role. It would have been a good role for him pre-Boone when he had the lighter hair.

I don't expect everybody to be attractive, because that's not how life is, but both Cinna and Haymitch struck me as at least somewhat attractive.

Cinna in my head is sort of lean and tall - almost delicate looking, Haymitch more of a haggard and used-up, but was once attractive. Maybe almost as if he had bulk at one point and lost some of it so he was a bit saggy or hollow in the face.

message 1044: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I agree, both of them were attractive. But I feel like Katniss mentioned Cinna's attractiveness in the beginning when she first met him. I just DO Not see that one at all!

Cassi aka Snow White Haggard | 2261 comments The cast Wes Bentley as Seneca Crane who I apparently don't remember well enough. That said, I don't mind looking at West Bentley on screen if his IMDB pics are true

message 1046: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Okay, so why does Wes Bentley look more like a good Cinna and Stanley Tucci look more like a Seneca Crane to me.

I think they got those flopped.

Cassi aka Snow White Haggard | 2261 comments Wes Bentley does look like Cinna to me, however I'll take Wes Bentley in any small role that looks are not terribly significant.

He's purdy.

message 1048: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) hahaha! He is definitely easy on the eyes.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) He sure is, but I completely agree that he would have made a better Cinna.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) So one of my friends in another group said that (and I'm not saying this is gospel) John C. Reilly is out for Haymitch, and there are rumors of Woody Harrelson possibly being in the running.
