Gale schmale. I don't want anyone on my sexception list to play him. This eliminates Rob Pattinson, Garrett Hedlund and Taylor Kitsch. If these guys played Gale, I would be in quite a conundrum as to what team I'm on.
I'm also a huge FNL fan. Tim Riggins is so flawed but so perfect at the same time.

I like the sequels a lot! Some say they're not as good but REGARDLESS they are must-reads if you loved the first.

I've only read the first and I liked it. The library has it and I got distracted and haven't come back. It's younger the Hunger Games, more Middle Grade than YA but good.

As long as Katniss stays as smart and kiss ass as she is in the first book, I will love it. She does doesn't she?

What the hey I'll check em out I was blown away by the writer so...

I don't care about Gale, but if Josh Hutcherson is chosen over Hunter or Lucas Till, I might as well just hang myself. ;_;

I don't know anything about this Liam kid (though I do like the name Liam quite a bit...totally unrelated point). But Josh Hutcherson is suppose to be a good actor and that's the most important thing (and I'm sorry ladies who love him--he's not pettyfier and that is also a good thing for me).
If they pick someone who can act and isn't an ogre I'll be good. It's a slight bonus that he's from Kentucky (and so is Jennifer) so my state would be made of Hunger Game win if he was cast. Considering I live in District 12 I feel this is appropriate.
Now if they pick an ogre we'll have some fighting words!

I'm good with that. I've never seen Liam in anything, but his brother Chris is a great actor. I like Jennifer Lawrence and I've liked Josh Hutcherson in everything I've seen him in...

It's oddly refreshing. Also we're not seeing any of the Disney bunch really which was something that worried me a bit. (Don't get me wrong I love Disney movies/shows but thats where they belong...on Disney)

Jennifer Lawrence has been cast already. Google it and you'll find out. She's a very talented actress.

I know it's been said a million times before me... But I reeeeeally want Hunter Parrish to play Peeta.
I've only just recently ready Hunger Games (I demolished the whole trilogy in about 5 days... forgoing sleep and living off a combination of Diet Coke and cake... y'know, the usual) so I had already heard his name being thrown around in the mix.
I'm a huge fan of Weeds so I knew who he was and when I started reading the books I couldn't get him out of my mind.
Plus I am all for him taking his top off continually throughout the films!
But if not Hunter then definitely Lucas Till, who admittedly is more age-appropriate to play him.
Don't really mind who plays Gale... as long as he can pull of the moody/staring into the distance/angry role.
But I love Jennifer Lawrence and she's already proven she's got the acting chops so I can't wait to see what she'll do with my homegirl, Katniss!

That's what boxes are for my friend!

Gale and Peeta cast for Hunger Games

I know you all are more generous with allowing differing looks to slide, but I'm a little bummed...

Maybe it's because this book series was SO good at making me envision the characters that I had higher expectations. So many book series have characters that could be interchangeable with just about any young actor/actress. This one didn't.
Yeah, yeah...the acting, the acting. I don't mind eating my words later if they pull it off. I HOPE they do. Better to like everything about the movie than not to. But, I have to admit, I have the feeling that I'm going to be distracted the whole way through while watching it, trying hard not to think about how they aren't really the characters.

And I'm SOOOO thankful I won't have to cringe at fake accents. (except maybe Gale because I don't know where that actor is).
If he can act and has the right chemistry with Jennifer that's all that matters to me. Maybe they can have an opening in Kentucky and I can go and it'll be wonderful and sunshine filled.

Basically Catie must be a genius.
Seriously people I hate fake accents. I don't think anyone understands my excitement. ITS NOT AN OGRE & NO FAKE ACCENTS! WOOOOOOO!
Now PLEASE just do some events/press in Kentucky and I will be so excited.

Well he does date Miley doesn't he?

Me too me too! When Peep and I started the whole Gale vs. Peeta fake fight I totally looked it back up and found out Peeta was blond then! I am into dark hair in guys so I pictured him like that :)
p.s. Cassi - Liam is from Australia.

I guess I'll just have to wait for the movie.

But in my mind I can separate book Peeta & movie Peeta. Nobody is EVER going to live up to the book. And we all picture Peeta differently anyways.

He looks very pale though... I'm having Twilight flashes, which isn't good.

Wendy I totally agree about the bad Twilight makeup - they best not have the same make up crew working on the HG movies!

Well he does date Miley doesn't he?"
I think that might be it - I am not a fan of hers at all.

For some reason, the picture coloring makes me think of the ship captain from Firefly.

He does look like the younger brother of the guy from Firefly! I am much happier about the blond hair after this picture too :)
