Melanie (melaina) | 411 comments Arch wrote: "Melanie, you've read three books yesterday?"

yep:-))yesterday afternoon/evening... My maximum in a day is about 6 books (and Sunday I read 5), and I've read 49 books in May :-)... And lucky me, I'm spending a week at a spa alone (first time I've been alone since January!!) so other than my treatments and walking around the village, I have nothing to do but READ:-)) I'm thrilled!!!

@ Darcy... How would you rate Open Season? I'm thinking of buying LH's romantic suspense books..

message 520: by Arch (new)

Arch | 4247 comments Mod
Wow Melanie. You must be a fast reader. I can't read six books in one day.

message 521: by Darcy (new)

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 704 comments Melanie wrote: "@ Darcy... How would you rate Open Season? I'm thinking of buying LH's romantic suspense books."

I gave this one a 3. My rating system is 3 is a good solid book. For a 4, it has to really impress me, and a 5 it has to blow me away. Most of Linda Howard's books hit at a 3 for me.

I'm glad to hear it. Christoff is a hard act to follow.

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish I'm loving Wild Fire (Leopard People, #4) by Christine Feehan by Christine Feehan.

I also ran across this little series called Masters of the Shadowland by Cherise Sinclair. They're kind of kinky, about a BDSM club, but so far not hardcore.

message 529: by Melanie (new)

Melanie (melaina) | 411 comments So after finishing All Night Long by Jayne Ann Krentz and reading The Duke's Indiscretion (Duke Trilogy, #3) by Adele Ashworth last night, I'm now reading A Heart So Wild (Straton Family, #1) by Johanna Lindsey that someone on the gunslinger theme thread recommended:-) So far I'm enjoying it :-))

I am not very far in, but do agree with you about the letters. This is the last book that I need to read for this series. I don't usually read out of order, but the older ones are harder to find.

Me three, especially the mystery element and the action taken to make it right.

Mollie *scoutrmom* (scoutrmom) | 635 comments Courtney .*. Vhibrant .*. wrote: "Just finished Ransom.

Definitely the Claiborne Brides, I thought it was excellent.

Mollie *scoutrmom* (scoutrmom) | 635 comments I'm currently dipping into my Kindle for PC's The Irish Warrior by Kris Kennedy in between library books. I just finished four quick reads for my Dangerous spell it out challenge over the past two days, and need a break for cooking and knitting before I dive back in. My next will probably be another for that challenge, I just have yet to decide which. The Irish Warrior by Kris Kennedy

message 542: by Shawna (new)

Shawna (shawnalovesromance) | 9 comments I just finished An Unforgettable Lady by Jessica Bird, aka J.R. "The WARDen" Ward, and loved it! The hero John Smith is a cold, dark, dangerous, tortured alpha, and I loved him of course!

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish Oh, Shawna... now that I have all of Jessica Bird's 4 stand alones, I'm going to start them!!!

Melanie (melaina) | 411 comments Arch... I loved Cole!! Can't wait to read his story:-)

Courtney: I LOVED The Bride (Lairds' Fiancees, #1) by Julie Garwood !!!! I ended up reading that book along with Cold As Ice (Ice, #2) by Anne Stuart You Don't Know Jack (NY Girlfriends, #2) by Erin McCarthy and started Fallen (Eyes of the Republic, #1) by Claire Delacroix .. The last book is the only one I'm not crazy about... I'm halfway through, and tempted to just give up on it or pick it back up in a week or two.. Now I just want to read Larissa Ione or Julie Garwood:-) Any feedback on it?

Melanie, let me know how you like Cole's story. Come The Spring. I wasn't feeling it. I will have to read it again to see if my feelings change.

Cole didn't feel like Cole to me in that book. Not the Cole, I've first came to love in For The Roses.

You might see differently.

Cole is bad in The Clayborne Brides. lol that's why I love him. He's a good bad boy. Messy too!

I need to find/read An Irresistible Bachelor next, and I've got the rest of her Moorehouse Silhoutte series to read after that.

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish Oh, I loved Moorehouse!!!! And I adored Spike and how Brotherlike he is. When you read his book you'll see what I mean. And if you read my review of his book you'll see what the WARDen had to say about Spike's "yellow eyes."

AIB was the hardest to find. If you have an eReader, I'd go that route because I've seen that book going for anywhere from $20-$900 on ebay and B&N used.
