I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought it was overrated. There are a ton of high reviews, I thought it was o.k. I felt the same way with Halo (Halo, #1) by Alexandra Adornetto too.

Amanda (peanutty222) I just read Girl, Stolen by April Henry and it was pretty good. A short story about a blind girl who accidently gets kidnapped by a car jacker.

Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 2445 comments Glad you liked it. I've really wanted to read this one.

Jess | 120 comments I just read My Soul to Take from the Soul Screamers series by Rachel Vincent. I LOVED it! Thought it was one of the best YA that I have read.

Maybe I'll have to try reading it again.

message 756: by Jess (new)

Jess | 120 comments Not the best (YA), but I can't wait for the 2nd book. I can't wait to see how the characters evolve. Good chemistry too!

message 757: by Samantha (new)

Samantha | 432 comments I just finished The Exiled Queen (Seven Realms, #2) by Cinda Williams Chima and I thought it was better than the first in the series. I'm liking where the that author's taking things and it's definitely on my auto-read list now.

Seems to be love/hate with this series. Personally I thought it was really interesting and that it kept getting better (and even more deliciously angsty, lol).

I know I'm almost done with Book 2 and things are getting really interesting!!! So glad I decided to pick up these books!

Samantha | 432 comments Glad to hear it. :) She's even in the process of writing the fourth, so it doesn't end there. *devilishly rubs hands together*

The Seven Realms, is The Demon King the first book in the series? I can't remember. If so, I have it but have yet to read it.

I just finished Ghost Town (The Morganville Vampires, #9) by Rachel Caine and I loved it! I haven't loved the last couple MV books, so I was very happy to see things back to the awesomeness of the past books. This one was pretty emotional though and very dark.

message 762: by Darcy (new)

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 2770 comments Carrie, I am glad to hear MV are getting good again. I love that series, they are fun, fast reads.

Yup, I thought the second book was stronger, but the first wasn't so shabby, either.

Jessica B | 292 comments Just finished Unholy Magic (Downside Ghosts, #2) by Stacia Kane

I absolutely loved it. It was a roller coaster ride of emotions that's for sure!

message 765: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (peanutty222) I just finished I Am the Messenger. Truthfully I didn't get the first 3/4 of the book until I finished reading it. I almost put it down a few times, I wasn't getting the story. THEN I finished the book and thought it was brilliant.

message 766: by Jess (new)

Jess | 120 comments Finally got to read Firelight. Thought it was pretty good. The cover is beautiful!

I FINALLY got it from the library, Jess. I'm a few pages away from finishing Return to Paradise. Gotta say - I love it so far.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 827 comments Carrie, you asked me to tell you how Generation Dead (Generation Dead, #1) by Daniel Waters was. It was good but nothing exciting. The book was easy to get into and read, but there were more scenes than necessary I thought. I did like the ending though and it made me curious to know what happens next, so I think I'll continue the series.

message 769: by Carrie (Care) (new)

Carrie (Care) (care76) | 1746 comments Thanks Stacia! I might have to try it.

message 770: by Jess (new)

Jess | 120 comments Heather is that the 2nd? Did you chose the book b/c she is a redhead?? lol

message 771: by Heather (new)

Heather T (horrorvacui000) | 5931 comments Mod
Return to Paradise? Ya, it's the second. I don't remember her being a redhead. Although, it's why I read Red-Headed Stepchild.

message 772: by Whitney (new)

Whitney (whitneychakara) | 1272 comments I just read Paranormalcy (Paranormalcy, #1) by Kiersten White and it was really good I cant wait for the next in the series.

message 773: by [deleted user] (new)

The Maze Runner (Maze Runner, #1) by James Dashner
I think this book would do really well as a movie. Plot was so cool and exciting, but had a hard time connecting with the characters. Especially the main character felt really flat. Still OMG at tne epilogue. I need the new book now

message 774: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne Chakara wrote: "I just read Paranormalcy (Paranormalcy, #1) by Kiersten White and it was really good I cant wait for the next in the series."

I agree I really enjoyed this book and thought the characters were really good.

message 775: by Whitney (new)

Whitney (whitneychakara) | 1272 comments I love the fresh new take on Paranormals I get tired of the same old same old faries, warewolves, vampires BLAH.

Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 2445 comments That's great, I love a little twist to them as well.

This one had a good sequel. I like the new girl.

I started that today. It's got my interest so far.

message 779: by Carrie (Care) (new)

Carrie (Care) (care76) | 1746 comments I LOVE the Maze Runner and it's sequel. It is one of my favourite series.

message 780: by Paula (new)

Paula (pauldajo) I finished Side Jobs: Stories From the Dresden Files and it was good, not great, but the short stories allowed us to see pieces of the puzzle that the main story doesn't have the time or the space to include.

message 781: by Irene (new)

Irene Hollimon | 89 comments I just read Evernight (Evernight, #1) by Claudia Gray and I really liked it. It started out like a Twilight clone but then there was a twist. The end of the book is pretty good and I can't wait to start the next book in the series.

message 782: by Carrie (Care) (new)

Carrie (Care) (care76) | 1746 comments I read that last year and I have yet to read the next book. I am not sure why because I liked it.

Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 2445 comments Evernight was gooooood! Don't worry Carrie, I haven't started the next book either.

message 784: by Amanda (last edited Nov 22, 2010 10:59AM) (new)

Amanda (peanutty222) Evernight is on my "I hated it" list. Maybe I should give it another try????

I just read The Dead Girls' Dance and it was......Meh. I heard the series gets better, I hope I'm not wasteing my time. I have Magic Bites waiting for me.

message 785: by Heather (new)

Heather T (horrorvacui000) | 5931 comments Mod
I liked Evernight, but the books have tapered off a bit since then for me.

Aah, start with Magic Bites now! It's my favorite urbanfantasy series :)

message 788: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (peanutty222) I have all 4 so maybe I will pitch The Morganville Vampires for now and get going.

Well some people say the series gets better and better with each book, but I loved the earlier ones the best. I think 4, 6, and 9 are my favourites, but I really did love all of the first 6.

I just finished Nightshade and I loved it!

I know, I stopped reading the series after the second one, but since I've heard so many people love this series, I figure I just don't have the Morganville Vampires loving-gene.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 827 comments I thought book 3 is where it really started to pick up and book 4 was one of the best.

However, different strokes and all that. It's not worth struggling through something if it's painful.

message 792: by Whitney (new)

Whitney (whitneychakara) | 1272 comments I just finished spirit bound and it was so good.

message 793: by Vivian (new)

Vivian (_vivian) The Maze Runner (Maze Runner, #1) by James Dashner was so good! I need to run out and get the sequel now. Is it going to be a trilogy?

glad to hear i have it on my shelf waiting to read.

message 795: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne I'm reading Ghost Town (The Morganville Vampires, #9) by Rachel Caine right now which is the 9th book in the series. I have liked some and thought others were just okay.

message 796: by Jessica B (new)

Jessica B | 292 comments I finished City of Ghosts (Downside Ghosts, #3) by Stacia Kane on the weekend. I absolutely loved it. It is probably my favourite read so far this year.

Yes, it will be a trilogy.

Whitney (whitneychakara) | 1272 comments I just finished Eighth Grade Bites (The Chronicles of Vladimir Tod, #1) by Heather Brewer it was a really good Middle Grades book. I read it and kept in mind if I would recomend it to my little brother or not and thats the way I decided what stars it got.

Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 2445 comments Fun!! I've been thinking about reading this one, but I always end up deciding it sounds far to cheesy for me.
