I've noticed that many of us are reading the new Jayne Ann Krentz title Fired Up for February's title starting with F and thought I'd mention that she's the featured author for the Beyond Heaving Bosoms Reads thread near the bottom of the RRRC homepage. Anyone who'd like to read any title by Krentz or any of her pseudonyms (Amanda Quick, Jayne Castle, or Stephanie James) are more than welcome to join in our chats. :O)

Fellow GR members, Debbie :) You can find details at this link ... http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/2...
Well we are three days into the month and I already have two books done and a third started. Woot! Just finished the 10 categories last month in time. Would like a little more padding this month. I'm not sure how to list these though. I'm going to put them down now, but I might move categories as both books qualify for more than one space and haven't picked the rest of the month yet.1. F this book!:
2. It's my birthday and I'll read if I want to:
3. "We named the dog Indiana": Cry No More by Linda Howard (2/1) The main character is from Indiana. She returns home to her parents several times in the book as well.
4. I love this stuff:
5. Don't let me be alone and unloved on Valentines day: How to Host a Seduction by Jeanie London (2/3)
6. I'm black and I'm proud!:
7. And all this time I thought it was NPR:
8. If we was talkin' dead presidents, why'd we pick the cheapest two?:
9. If all your friends jumped off a bridge would you do it too?:
10. Without direction, how am I supposed to pick anything? What do you mean my choice? I'm scared. Hold me.:
Great start though, I haven't even gotten started yet and with Feb being a short month, I need to get a move on.

Sara, I have the same categories as you do. Every month I just rename them a little. (thanks for noticing)Another day and another book bites the dust! I'm making short work of this in this short month.
1. F this book!:
2. It's my birthday and I'll read if I want to:
3. "We named the dog Indiana": Cry No More by Linda Howard (2/1) The main character is from Indiana. She returns home to her parents several times in the book as well.

8. If we was talkin' dead presidents, why'd we pick the cheapest two?:
9. If all your friends jumped off a bridge would you do it too?: The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty by AN Roquelaure (2/4). This was given to me as a Christmas gift by a friend of mine at a family function. She made sure that everyone knew that it was basically S&M porn. Her mother and grandmother looked at me funny all day. My children are used to it though. I think next year I will buy her a big pink but-plug for the family gathering. Who knows? Her husband might even appreciate it.

I addeda couple books to my list i haven't finished yet but know i will. ;-) Question though. for the rev War/Civil War one, can it be an alternative reality book or does it have to be the US Civil War? i ask because I have on audio from Harry Turtledove's Atlantis series that is the Civil War for his alternative reality and while it's not US presidents it's fictional characters that play those same roles. not sure I'm explaining correctly but anyone who reads Alt Real would understand what I'm trying to say. :-) I actually wasn't even going to bother with the book I'm mentioning since I wasn't crazy abotu the otehrs in teh series but i did get it for free and if it will fit, that gives me a reason to not give it away just yet. :-)And another question... i have an anthology I'm reading now (and is plugged into my list). the story I'm just about finished has an A-A heroine. Will that book count for the one story or does it have to be a full length book to count?
oh and one more Q... I understand the birthday item in this challenge after it was explained tome. but is there an easy way to find ideas without scrolling through pages and pages of books? Since I'm a reviewer and those books always take priority, my challenge with this one is finding if a book I have to read already is on any of the bday people's shelves. I don't often get to just pick up a book for the heck of it. At lest I get to pick my review books though so I only read reviews books I think fit my genre tastes. I tried t do this chalenge for January but gave up after spenind like 5 ours scrolling book shelves to see if anythign fit what i had already. Way too much time for me to put into something like this that isn't even reading a book. ;-)
Kelley,Q1: I'm going to leave that one to your discretion, since I'm not familiar with the book itself.
Q2: Novellas are acceptable for the challenge. You don't need to read the entire anthology.
Q3: You might do what I do when I choose a book for this category. I usually have 2-3 books that I already know i want to read. Then I would go to the celebrants' profiles, go to their shelves, and I used the search feature to find my selected books. There is usually someone who would have it. Hope that helps.
kelley, I can answer your b-day question. Find a book that you want to read that you think someone else may have already read. Now find the person with the b-day who has the most books on the shelf. Then do a search for books to see if it is there or not. If not, go to the next person with the most books. This may not be in the spirit of the challenge, but it certainly keeps with the rules. It is the spot that I try to get caught up on a series read every month.
For birthday reads I check out the list of birthday girls from the thread, and hit the "compare books" option on their profile. I've got so many books (just over 3500) and have only read just over 600 of them, so I'm trying to find books to read that I already own. Comparing books will bring up any book that we both have in common that's on both of our shelves. If I don't find something to read right away (usually do find something), if nothing else it helps me find who has the most similiar reading tastes to my own.

Thanks Yz. I actually remembered a different one I have that fits better and is an audio so doesn't get in the way of the whole "review book" thing so I'm going to use it instead.
You can do a computer search on just one person's bookshelf? I didn't know you could do that. Unless yu're meaning just scroll through the pages myself. That's what I tried to do last month and it was just WAY too time consuming and I quit on it.
