Welcome to the group Phyllis. I am finally going to try to read The Silent Girl because I was able to get the audiobook from the library. Going to pick it up tomorrow.

Phyllis (phyllisbrannin) Thanks for the welcome, I read The Silent Girl about a month ago. It is a very good book. You will like it. Thought it was much better than her last one, Ice Cold.

:-) Awesome! You're Welcome - Glad you found us Shirli! We are reading or re-reading Body Double right now and as Marla said will be reading In Their Footsteps beginning in January. Hope you'll consider joining us for one or both of those. I have not read In Their Footsteps yet so I'm excited for that.

message 158: by Emily (new)

Emily (emfrandsen) | 3 comments Hello all. I'm new to GR and definitely had to join this group. I'm a huge fan of Tess and her Rizzoli & Isles series books. I'm also an avid watcher of the show. I get in as much reading as I can in between my roles as a wife, mother, full-time worker, full-time student, and playing soccer/working out/camping/hanging out with friends and family.

I reside in Utah but I'm originally from San Antonio, Texas. I've been here off and on for about 20 years. This is home now and I love it but I'll always be a Texas girl. The mountains are beautiful, which makes for great camping/outdoor activities.

I was introduced to Tess's books by a friend recently and I can't seem to put them down. I'm reading The Sinner right now. I wish I could read every minute of the day, but I do my best. I'm excited to be a part of the group and look forward to making new friends.

Hi Emily :-) Thanks for joining us. Which part of Utah do you live in? I'm from St.George but now live in Colorful Colorado. Sounds like you keep yourself busy - glad you find time to read. I saw you like The Help & The Hunger Games from your profile - excellent books. The Help was a great movie & I'm excited for The Hunger Games movie.

In Their Footsteps is our next group read. We are just finishing up Body Double and some of us are reading Vanish next. If you finish The Sinner anytime soon, please feel welcome to join us for any our group reads.
Welcome to the Tess Gerritsen Fans Group :-)

message 160: by Emily (new)

Emily (emfrandsen) | 3 comments Thanks for the warm welcome. I live in Northern Utah near Hill AFB. I do keep myself busy. I really hope to get some more reading in while I'm on a break from school (4 weeks) :-).

I absolutely loved The Help and the movie was even better! I'm hoping to finish The Hunger Games before the movie comes out, but I can't seem to pick it up due to Tess's books. Not complaining that's for sure.

Looking forward to this group! Thanks again!

Katherine (sandrakay) | 9 comments I am a new Gerritsen reader. I just completed The Surgeon and have read a few of the other books in the Rizzoli and Isles series but out of order. I am going to try to read them in order now. I look forward to reading more of the books discussed in this group.

:-) Welcome to the group Katherine!!!! Hope you'll read some books with us when they're featured as group reads. We have an official group read every two months and we will also feature titles as "mini-group reads" if there are 3 or more group members interested in reading a particular title. In Our Footsteps is our Group Read for Jan-Feb and Vanish is a mini-group read during the month of January. Please feel welcome to join us in reading either or both of these titles or post in the Mini-Group Read Discussion thread if there's another title you're interested in reading :-) Thanks again for joining & we hope you like it here.

message 163: by Danniella (new)

Danniella Duff (danniellathepaganwitch) Hey guys! I'm Danniella. I love Dark fantasy books, horror and crime. My favourite authors are Tess Gerritsen, Karen Rose, Alyson Noel, Rachel Caine and Kelly Armstrong. The quickest I've read a book is in a day, the last one was The Vampire Stalker. I started reading dark fantasy books for years now, so I don't really remember what got me started, but I'm glad I did.

message 172: by Anastasia (new)

Anastasia (tdallonsy) Hello everyone! I'm Anastasia, living in Dubai at the moment.

Currently making my way through Tess Gerritsen’s Rizzoli & Isles series. Having finished The Surgeon last year, I put the series aside as I got distracted. Over the course of the last few days, I'm almost halfway through 'The Mephisto Club' after having gone on a reading spree (in part due to insomnia) over the last five days.

Yeah, I read 5 books in 5 days. Once you start, you can't stop! (Insomnia helps! ;-) )

message 175: by Wes (new)

Wes (wes50) Hi. I'm Wes, I live in Maine, am 61 and retired. I am a new member to Goodreads and this group. I've always been an avid reader but even more so now that I've retired! I just "discovered" Tess in January when an acquaintance recommended her books to me. I live about 60 miles from where she lives, and had heard of her, but just never had read any of her books. I have finished The Surgeon and The Apprentice, and I'm now reading The Sinner. I really like her style, her characters, plots and settings. I enjoy crime and medical thrillers, and these books are a combination of the two. Other favorite authors of mine are Robin Cook, Patricia Cornwell, Scott Turow, John Grisham, Dean Koontz, Ken Follett, Nelson DeMille, P T Deutermann, and Greg Iles.

message 176: by Kelly (new)

Kelly Furniss (kellyfurniss) | 15 comments Hi Wes and a big welcome to our group! :0)
I bet now you are retired you are wondering how you ever had time to work! ha!.
I have Body Double as my next read in the series & I'm looking forward to it once I get round to it (got a few others to read first).
We have similar tastes in authors judging by your list and I will now have a nosey at the ones I am not familiar with!.
Happy Easter and reading!.

message 177: by Wes (new)

Wes (wes50) Thanks, Furny! I also will have a look at some of the authors on your book list whom I'm not familiar with. I won't live long enough to read everything I'd like to!

message 178: by Kelly (new)

Kelly Furniss (kellyfurniss) | 15 comments Me either Wes!.My to be read pile/wishlist is huge and it seems to get added to daily!.I have piles of books I haven't even added on here yet! Lol!.
Be warned if you check out my list I have rather eclectic tastes and I am a member of a book group and a couple of groups on here so you will find my reading genres varied.

message 179: by Brenda (new)

Brenda Another author you may enjoy Wes and Furny is Lisa Gardner. Her books are similar to Tess' and I love them both...along with some of the ones on your list Wes!

message 180: by Kelly (new)

Kelly Furniss (kellyfurniss) | 15 comments Brenda- Thanks I will be sure to check her out.
I am just reading my Book clubs optional choice at the moment then I am itching to get back to some crime!.

message 181: by Brenda (new)

Brenda What is the book you're reading for the book club Furny? Crime is always good to get back to;D

message 182: by Kelly (new)

Kelly Furniss (kellyfurniss) | 15 comments Brenda-For my book club we have a main discussion book and an optional read monthly.
For April we have Observation- Jane Harris (optional)
The Girl On Paper-Guillaume Musso (Main read) and last moths optional read I still want to get through is
Cold Earth- Sarah Moss.
Three great choices with a bit of crime but not gritty crime.

message 183: by Brenda (new)

Brenda Thanks Furny, I'll check them out:)

message 184: by Kelly (new)

Kelly Furniss (kellyfurniss) | 15 comments Brenda- Please do!. However with any Book club like you will be aware the one that I am a member of make the choices very varied to try continually something different but also appeal to all the different members. A good thing about my book club I have found though is that it makes me read books I would have probably never picked and it pushes me out of my comfort zone.
I have read some great books with mine and we have a lovely comfortable group, never any problema and quite often we chat about everything and anything! Lol!.
I am also a member of a few groups on here & want to get through there books too (Rizzoli & Isles, Patterson, Stuart MacBride etc... the list goes on! so may books so little time!!

message 185: by Brenda (new)

Brenda I also belong to a book club with my local library, and our books are extremely varied as well! Like you, I have read a lot of books I wouldn't have picked up, if not for them:)

message 186: by Kristina (new)

Kristina (mrsviolette) | 2 comments Hi Wes,

I could have been the one to write your note! I too live in Maine, I’m retired, and have finished The Surgeon and The Apprentice, and I'm now reading The Sinner. I also like her style, her characters, plots, and settings. I enjoy crime and medical thrillers (I used to work in medicine). I have to confess that The Apprentice was a little too scary to read in bed. I had to finish it in the daylight. My other favorite authors are Nelson DeMille, Dan Brown, Jodi Picoult, Robin Cook, Patricia Cornwell, John Grisham, and several others.

J.A. Schneider (jaschneider) | 13 comments Hi Dustin and Tess Gerritsen fan friends,

I love medical thrillers. So far I've read two Tess Gerritsens (thought The Surgeon was a bit too gory/graphic), but I'm looking forward to the Rizzoli series.

Question: Which Rizzoli & Isles book would you recommend that I start with?

Happy to find you!!
Joyce
