What are you reading?
I'm not currently reading anything... don't really know what to read! Does anyone have a recommendation for a book with a hero that is almost "predatory", like he will stop at nothing to get his woman.. think Kylemore from Claiming the Courtesan by Anna Campbell.
I think that is more in the vein (ha ha) of some of the paranormals. It reminds me a little of Shana Abe's The Smoke Thief.
or how about Tempt Me At Twilight although as I've said before Harrry never seemed all that ruthless to me.
I think that Stephanie Laurens also may write books a little like that- as her books just make me want go to sleep I am unable to recommend any in particular.
Thanks y'all, Dhes I've read Lord of Scoundrels- Loved it and Lord Dain! And I've read Harry's book, don't have any Stephanie Laurens books... I guess this is harder than I thought! I'll figure something out! :)
Danielle has a shelf for stalkerific heroes I think, Cheryl. Check that out. I have a "caveman" shelf for crazy alphas, too.
So whilst I was browsing Dhestiny and Danielle's bookshelves for "predator-type" heroes, I became distracted by a shelf for "Captive-Kidnapping" (another favorite theme) and noticed a Julie Garwood book in it, Honor's Splendour, which I haven't read, and quite honestly it has been far too long since I've read a Garwood book! I own all of her historicals but I've been savoring them since she doesn't have any cooking on the burner at the moment! So, I am currently reading Honor's Splendour by Julie Garwood!
I'm reading a bunch of books:
.Believe it or not the punctuation book and the fables are going the best. I'm hating the heroine in Untraceable (if I didn't have to read it for two challenge, I'd have stop reading it) and I'm annoyed that the hero of One Dance with a Duke who went out to check a horse 1 hr. after his wedding - there was an excuse but it didn't make any sense. In romance, I want a hero who just married the heroine to be thinking on one thing only and a horse is not it!
one dance with a duke wasn't a fav of mine D.G. - the whole club thing seemed stupid to me..or maybe I just didn't get it. There were a few good parts but otherwise an overall disappointment.
Bekah wrote: "one dance with a duke wasn't a fav of mine D.G. - the whole club thing seemed stupid to me..or maybe I just didn't get it. There were a few good parts but otherwise an overall disappointment."That's exactly how I'm feeling. At least the heroine keeps reminding them how stupid it is...
I can't take a book seriously if the plot/premise is too unbeliavable--or just plain weak. I'm reading
This is the second in the series and its not to bad so far, also my first by this author. So far they have been solid 3* reads for me.
I actually enjoyed the whole Stud Club trilogy, and in the ending of the final book, we really, truly, see what motivated Leo to start the club. And it made perfect sense to me.
I'm reading
and enjoying it. It's not as heavy on action as I thought it would be, but I do love Franco. :)

Bekah, not everyone enjoyed it as much as I did, but maybe later on down the road you'd enjoy it more.
I would have enjoyed the Stud Club trilogy more if I had liked the heroine in the first book. She just really irritated me. The second book I liked a lot and the 3rd was better than the first. I'm glad to have read them.

A problem I have with books is when something bugs me, it pulls me out the story and I can't get into it. It's like trying to watch a movie with loud music in the next room...you keep trying to concentrate in the story but all you hear is the music. When that happens, I just give up on the book or if the book is not terrible, I'll finish it but won't continue the series.
Katherine wrote: "Then Comes Seduction I loved the first book in this series so I hope this is just as good."Oh I just loved Jasper in that book, Katherine! That was just a really sweet series!
No, she said they can all be read as stand alones, that she just put in some things for people who read the first 2 books, some familiar things, but that it can be read alone. I have 1 week before I have to start the next challenge, and i know this is going to be an emotional read, so I decided to start it while I have time to devote to it.
Cheryl wrote: "Oh, ok. I can't wait to hear your thoughts on it!"So far, it's very good. Takes place during the same time period as
and
. I'm LOVING the hero, Nicholas, and the heroine, Bethie. She's got some fight in her!

I'm so glad to hear that. I've just started so not much has happened yet.

UniquelyMoi *~*Dhestiny*~* wrote: "I also liked book 2 a lot, Katherine, though I think we're in the minority. LOL"I liked book 2 best of the entire stud club trilogy.... I also liked how it all "came out" at teh end of book three.
Me too, Heidi!!! I LOVED it when we actually learn just why the Stud Club was so important to Leo. I loved it!So you're in the Stud Club #2 Minority Club with Katherine and I. LOL

I really like it so far. I'm only on disk 2 of 13 though, so I have a ways to go still. I absolutely loved the BDB books.
I got Covet through the post today and am also looking forward to starting it as I am a huge fan of BDB too! Is it alot different Megan?
I LOVED Covet!!!! Don't compare them to the BDB, and you'll enjoy it more. The Brothers in the BDB are like none-other, but wow... Jim is amazing in Covet, and I've heard Crave is excellent.

Book 2 was definately the best of the 3 IMO.
Book #1 in the Stud Club is improving for me and it's all because of the heroine. I really love practical heroines.
Trying to get through The Templar's Seduction by Mary Reed McCall, no too impressed by the writing. Before that I read When It's Perfect by Adele Ashworth and liked it...will definitely read more books by her!
