Medea's smiled faded a little. "It must be nice for you to settle down for a bit. That must have been hard to be constantly moving around," she said in a quieter voice.

Avery shrugged. "It was alright most of the time," he said. "But it is nice to settle down. I think Caleb sort of misses the traveling more, but I don't." He was almost surprised himself at his un-angry mention of his brother.

Caleb grinned and shrugged. "I am quite lucky," he agreed. "I do so enjoy Tuesdays." He let out a breath and leaned back. "What's your favorite book?"

Caleb nodded with a small, rueful smile. "It is a tough question," he agreed. "The Tale of Despereaux was a good one. They made a movie, I think, but it didn't do the book justice in my opinion." He looked thoughtful for a moment. "I've liked the five Fablehaven books. My favorite one was the fifth. So, I guess that's my favorite."

Caleb's eyes lit up, excitement plain on his face. "They're my favorites." He grimaced. "I know. I hated Gavin for that." He blushed. "He seemed so perfect for Kendra. And when he betrayed them it made me so angry, I sort of ranted for a while." He shook his head. "But all in all the series is awesome." He nodded. "That was horrible. I hated when Patton was just there with her, and it seemed so awful to him to see his young wife die, when he and his Lena were fighting..." Caleb trailed off with a sheepish grin. "I get really into books, I guess. The fifth book is the best out of all of them. I think I brought it, if you wanted to borrow it."

Medea turned her head and gave Caleb a long look. "Hmm. Well," she said, turning back to Avery, "it must have been easier for...both of you to be travelling. I imagine it was hard to make other friends." Her voice took on a sad tone.

Avery shrugged with a vague look. "Sometimes. Caleb was... better at it. I read a lot, but sometimes I found other kids that liked flying or reading. Muggles and Wizards."

Medea smiled, but it didn't reach her eyes. A distant, somber look had crept onto her face. "Yeah.. Hogwarts is great so far. I would rather go here than travel!" Her voice, however, stayed bright.

Medea tried shaking her head and nodding at the same time. It didn't work out very well. She simply shrugged instead. "Well... yes. I'm fine, thanks. Or I will be by Wednesday. I'd rather not - " She shook her head.

Avery nodded. "Okay," he consented carefully. "Let me know if anything changes, I guess." He bit the inside of his cheek and let out a breath. "So, what subjects haven't we exhausted yet?" He asked with a slightly forced grin.

Caleb tilted his head slightly to one side, hearing something different in her voice, but he just nodded. "That makes sense, it's better that way. I hope they do."

Avery pretended to think. "No, and no. I didn't have any motor vehicles at the time."

Caleb pretended to look stricken. You don't like Riley? He mouthed, then shrugged with a grin. "Well, I suppose everyone is entitled to their opinions. Nicholas Cage is a good actor. So is Sean Bean. I think he was in the Percy Jackson movie as Zeus." Caleb looked at Lyra. "What's your favorite, then?"

There was a split-second where Caleb was reeling inwardly, unsure if she was kidding or not. It was hard to tell. "I'm sorry I'm such a bore," he said with a raised eyebrow.

Caleb saw her smirk and inwardly breathed a sigh of relief. "Well," he said, leaning back against his chair and crossing his arms in imitation. "It's better than if I were frolicking about spreading mayhem, isn't it?"

Caleb narrowed his eyes, resisting an urge to laugh or something. "Would you be sufficiently amused if I were storming about causing destruction?"

Caleb almost shrugged, then managed to hold still, simply blinking. "Maybe if I had some chocolate first," he said contemplatively. "I could go spray paint everything green and silver."
