Will Fringe go back to the future this season? —Barry

NATALIE: Yes, but it won't be the same future we saw in the finale. "The future that we saw in 2026 will now not have happened, because by altering the past, inevitably you set in motion a new chain of events that lead to a different future," executive producer Jeff Pinkner tells us. But the time-jumping series won't just be looking forward. "There will definitely be [flashback] episodes, but the past would be different as well because Peter wasn't a part of it, but he would be in the future." As confused as we are?

LANCE REDDICK TEASES RELATIONSHIP CHANGES IN SEASON 4 OF ‘FRINGE’

We already know that since Peter sacrificed himself — rather, his existence — for the sake of the rest, there are major adjustments afoot. But how major? For that answer, we turned to inside man Lance Reddick, who breaks down some of the changes we might be seeing in the Fringe division.”Broyles and Peter weren’t that connected, but there is an affection that Broyles started to have with Walter that is gone now,” he says. “Now it’s about keeping the guy functioning so that he can work for us. And even though Olivia is still his top agent, there isn’t necessarily the same kind of paternal relationship that Broyles and Olivia had before.”

The new, subtle approach to their relationship will also be seen in another pairing: Astrid and Walter, says Reddick. “There was a closeness they had that I don’t think necessarily exists,” he says. “So it’ll be interesting once Peter reappears and as the season goes on, we try to figure out who the heck he is and what’s this crazy stuff he’s talking about. How in another reality we all knew each other. And how do we reintegrate that into the story.”

But the twist from last season won’t just fracture relationships. It will also bring together worlds, he reveals. “There may be more interaction in terms of casework between the two universes, which would be very interesting,” he says. “I don’t know that we can do too much of that because it takes so much time to shoot because we’ve gotten multiple versions of people. Particularly if they’re in the same scene because everybody has to play themselves, have a double, do it on green screen, and all that stuff. But it’s very intriguing.” He’s got that right.

Season 3 is now available on blu-ray and DVD. Has anyone got their copy yet? I walked to Best Buy the other day to buy it and then realized at the door that I was a day too soon. Was working both jobs yesterday (release day) so didn't get a chance. Maybe today or tomorrow if the chance presents itself - I plan to buy season 3 this week. I am enjoying watching TWIN PEAKS in the meantime. "The Log Lady" is great and she is quickly becoming like a good friend.

Been watching Twin Peaks and I just love it :-) I can relate to the characters so well because they are all crazy (like me). The Log Lady carries this log around with her where ever she goes and this FBI Special Agent gets information for the case from his dreams and one crazy woman wears an eye patch and this one girl just starts dancing to this great music and there are many more quirky characters like these. Twin Peaks has famous people like Piper Laurie and others. I love this show!!!!

Wikipedia info on Twin Peaks:
Twin Peaks became one of 1990's top-rated shows, a critical success both nationally and internationally. Reflecting its devoted cult fan base, the series became a part of popular culture, referenced in other television shows, commercials, comic books, video games, films and song lyrics. Declining viewer ratings led to ABC's insistence that the identity of Laura's murderer be revealed midway through the second season. In 1992, the series spawned a prequel, the film Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me, a commercial failure in America, but a success in Japan. In 2002, the series was ranked #45 on TV Guide's 50 Greatest TV Shows of All Time and in 2007, it was listed as one of Time magazine's "Best TV Shows of All-TIME."

I'm waiting for my tattoo shop to take good picture and hoping I can copy it - that'll be a few weeks at least because they want to take a picture fully healed & then I gotta wait for them to post it online. I'm not very tech savvy. I need to figure out a way to post pictures. My built in laptop camera doesn't show the detail. I'll keep thinking & see what I can figure out. Would definitely like to post pictures when I can :-) Right now my arm is wrapped in plastic wrap.

Jackie (thelastwolf) Yes, definitely wait for it to heal.
Will they post it on a website? If so, I can tell you how to copy the pix and convert it html code so you can post the pic right here in this message box. If it's your own pix and they're on your computer I can tell you how to convert that also. It's really easy.

I just knew something was gonna go wrong when they took a civilian across the bridge to the other universe. That was scary for me.

message 728: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thelastwolf) Yep, way too many things that could go wrong. It's not something I'd even contemplate if I were in charge.

message 729: by Christine (new)

Christine It seems like they cross over with such ease now. What did or didn't happen that they have the ability to do it now. There are so many questions we still need answers for.

message 730: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thelastwolf) The bridge Peter created. That's what they're using to travel between universes.

message 731: by Christine (new)

Christine But if Peter is able to leak thru, wouldn't that make the bridge unstable too?

message 732: by Jackie (last edited Oct 07, 2011 12:42PM) (new)

Jackie (thelastwolf) Good question. I don't know. But I like that idea, because it'll give more storylines, furthering the mistrust between the universes. Unstable is even better than a full collapse. Brilliant idea.

Fringe is such a beautiful show. Enjoyed this past week how Walter was connecting with that boy - they both felt so alone. Next week's episode looks like a big one in the preview it asks the question "Has Peter Bishop Returned?"

Fringe always Friday's most compelling drama, but who's watching?

By ALEX STRACHAN, The Gazette October 14, 2011

Fringe (Citytv, FOX, 9 p.m.) just might be the most respected longrunning drama on TV, now that hardly anyone's watching. It has always operated on the margins of sci-fi supernatural storytelling. Last week's episode, in which an increasingly haunted Walter Bishop (John Noble) and the stoic Olivia Dunham (Anna Torv) investigated the strange phenomenon of exploding fungus - one online wag likened it to finding a cure for the common mould - recalled one of those eerie, reflective episodes of The X-Files, from that series' classic, monster-ofthe-week period.

The analogy is apt because, like The X-Files, Fringe is at its best when getting at what makes its characters tick. The monster of the week is what draws viewers in, but it's the likable, easy-to-relate-to characters that keep them there. Ever since Walter accepted responsibility for his missing son Peter - missing and presumed dead, both in this world and in Fringe's parallel, so-called "alt world" - Walter has had a tenuous hold on sanity.

In just a few short weeks - this season has set a new benchmark for the quality of its storytelling and acting - Walter has become increasing erratic as he experiences sudden, unexpected ghostly visitations from the missing Peter (Joshua Jackson). Easily rattled, Walter has covered all the reflective surfaces in his lab, so he won't suddenly see Peter's likeness staring at him, but it isn't helping: Last week's episode ended with Olivia narrowly preventing Walter from gouging his eyes out.

A Los Angeles Times reviewer noted earlier this week that the detail of gore in Fringe rivals that of many R-rated horror flicks, adding that Walter's liberal use of recreational pharmaceuticals routinely challenges network TV's accepted standards for depicting drug use.

Fringe's premise this season has revolved around its characters' inner pain, and in tonight's outing, Subject 9, Walter must leave the safety of his lab for the first time in years, as part of the ongoing investigation into his past. Life outside his comfort zone is a challenge. It's a big and noisy world out there, all the more intimidating for a man who's already losing his grip on reality.

The Fox network's promotional spot for tonight's show - shown at the end of last week's episode - suggests Jackson's return is imminent, but that's not the only reason to watch. Noble has always been a fine actor in nearly everything he does, but this season has given his character whole new layers of pain and guilt to deal with. It's not easy to watch, but it has helped make Fringe the most compelling, addictive Friday-night drama on TV.

I thought about that, but I'm just going to place it between the two wings at the bottom. Like this one:

The only letters on the code that it represents is O and P which have no significance to me:

The O and P could stand for Olivia and Peter.

Jason "plasborgma" wrote: "The O and P could stand for Olivia and Peter."

That is clever. I hadn't thought of that meaning :-)

However, I think one dot is enough for me and I will probably still go in the middle of the wings because I am making this into a half-sleeve and will have so much going on on the sides of the wings that the dot wouldn't get as much attention.

It sure wasn't me. I am no good at cracking codes and this one was very tricky, but I like knowing the cryptic words they are giving us during the commercial breaks - they end up being clues/hints toward future storylines.

I have been watching Twin Peaks again. David Duchovany or however you spell his name (Fox Mulder from The X Files) is in Season Two of Twin Peaks and he dresses like a woman - it is so funny :-)

btw, I have gotten that smoke face tattoo from Fringe - what my artist did is put the profile hidden in the background - it turned out okay, even if it wasn't exactly as I planned. It actually took me 2 days to find it in the background :-) Still gotta add color. Will post a picture when it gets finished.

Well some of them are joined together into sleeves now so I'd say 5 Basically everything I like I think of getting a tattoo. I was watching American Horror Story and thinking I could get a pin-up tattoo of Moira the Maid but that would be very daring...but it's a thought :-) That's why my new year's resolution is to limit myself to getting only 4 new tattoos in 2012.
