Let us know what you think of "Young Victoria" Gabriele. I really want to see it!

Will do, Jeannette! I'm really looking forward to it.

Let me know if you ever want to meet up there, Lee!

Sure, I'd love to meet you there one day Gabriele. We used to go to Guelph quite often because my grandmother lived there but she's in a retirement home in Ancaster now. It's been a few years since we've been back but if we're ever in the area I'll let you know.

Good morning everyone. I was up late reading my comfort book (almost done with that one). We're stuck in for the weekend because my kids are sick and my husband had dental surgery yesterday...ugh. The upside is that I'll probably have good reading time. I also have to help Dixie, my puppy, write her blog today...she is becoming impatient. :)
Have a good start to the day!

Kids sick and a husband with dental surgery? Sounds like fun Christine! LOL, I'm glad you can see the positive! You are making me very curious about your blog, I may have to go check that out.
My husband is a mess. He's all swollen and drugged up (and crabby...but I feel for him). I just figure that I may as well take the reading time while everyone is resting.
The dog blog is silly, but it's fun and it allows Dixie to express herself. She still has some trouble managing the keyboard with her paws though. ;)

No worries, Jeannette. Lee & I are shelving all the books mentioned that other members don't shelve. I don't think we've missed shelving any, but feel free to alert us if you notice differently.

My doctor pulled raw tomatoes out of my diet, which cleared up most of my "gas" problem (sorry for being graphic...).

on the Sony eReader too, and I imagine also the other ones (and I too adore my eReader!)
Great news about the increasing members... Keep up the brilliant work, Lee and Lisa!

Man, does this count as off topic because I just started talking about comfort reads?
Back on topic, talking about mail misadventures... one of my friends went to New Orleans for a conference (lucky cow) a few years back, and (knowing I'm a bit of a collector) sent me a number of postcards. None of which made it to me. Not one. She's positive she got my address correct (she's very reliable about these things) and the other people she posted cards to received them. So unfair!

I just meant that with 100 members we should have 1000's of books on the list. A few of the members seem to be very enthusiastic book buyers! (Kind of a friendly joke.)

Well, I'm sure a lot more will get added.
I also wonder: some of us might have hundreds of comfort read books and some of us might have only a very few.
This is a great group and the definition of comfort reads has been very broad. It's great to be able to have so many informal chats about books, and food and moving, without any "serious" study or debate.

Oh yes, I agree, and it's one of the main reasons I find this group so much fun.

Well, I'm sure a lot more will get added.

Well, I just learned today that a group bookshelf even EXISTED! :-p

Thanks Gabriele for the great review! I hope I'll get to see it soon. And so happy to see Rupert Friend in another good movie.

Every book that members mention as a comfort read in the discussion threads gets put on the bookshelf, under all the shelves that apply.
Feel free to add your own books, or add missing shelves to them. Lee and I will add any books not added by members, and sometimes we're too quick and add them before anyone else gets a chance.
If you feel the need for another shelf post in the suggestions and questions thread. And check out the thread how to add books to our shelves. Those threads are in the general folder and the group business folder respectively.
You can see all our books by clicking the bookshelf link or the more link (where some of the books show up) from our home page.

The Kindle can do audobooks. A GR friend, Laurele, first mentioned this to me and turned me on to AudioBooks.com, where you get the books for a reasonable monthly fee.
For the food tips - fiance and I went to the grocery store today to get some yummy healthy snacks and dinner tonight consisted of fun, healthy food, and I feel great! Humus, whole wheat pita bread with 'veggie' sandwich inserts, fresh fruit for dessert.. mmm. Tomorrow is fresh fish and big fresh salad, and he (as the house cook) is digging for recipes to encourage more healthy eating for both of us. We didn't eat terrible before, but in the winter, in the US midwest, people tend to eat 'comfort food' that my body apparently doesn't find comforting :)

Paula, You just succeeded!
I'm not known for being concise either!

Paula, we love you. Don't cut yourself short for our sakes. Write as much as you like. :-)

Nice to see that Sarah Ferguson came out all right and didn't get destroyed by all this royal business. She seems like a good, genuine person.
Did you spot Princess Beatrice in a cameo appearance at the very beginning of the movie? She was one of the ladies-in-waiting at Victoria's coronation.

Agreed, Jeannette, that Sarah deserves kudos for finding herself and a career that she enjoys. I saw her and Andrew in Toronto once, not long after they were married I think. It was a hot day and there was a huge crowd there to see and cheer them. What a lovely couple they had made. Sarah recently said that she still loves him and they are best of friends. Their marriage was tough since his royal duties kept them apart for all but about 40 days a year!
Such a shame that they couldn't have been two ordinary people. So nice for their daughters that they stayed friends.
I haven't seen pictures of their daughters since they were kids. They must be all grown up now eh?

Hahaha! Thanks Lisa! And thanks for letting me ramble, everyone :) I'm not that talkative in the real world, but seem to be here. Just can't help it with all the great topics!
Christine wrote: "Lee, Are you the person that I saw who read The Wasted Vigil? (I'm pretty sure that's the title) Somebody got that on my radar, but I can't remember."
I started this today, Lee. Oh my, I already love it.

ugh ...nothing is going as I would like it to in the world of football. Now I have a headache and I'm crabby. I should not be allowed to watch sports.

Yes, the Olympics are fun...and they rarely drive me to levels of insanity where I will bald myself. :)

I was thinking about you today! Sorry Christine! Just gotta love Peyton Manning!

I've been in this bookstore/cafe many times! It's very cute. I've also been to the movie theatre upstairs but I don't know if that's still there.
