Don't give up on the series yet. Mac grows on you. The first book ya just wanna smack her, but the rest of the books you begin to like her more until you love her by the end of the series.....same thing w/JZB. You fall in love w/him too.

Everybody keeps telling me that, is one of the reason I'm going to give Mac another chance. The other is that although annoying and bimbo as she was, the story was good enough to make me curious about what's next.

message 3955: by Alisa (last edited Dec 23, 2012 01:18AM) (new)

Alisa I just finished with Ink.
Ink by Isabelle Rowan This was a 4 star book for me. It was a quiet, sweet telling of a love story. The main characters are both males so this story may not be for everyone. There was little sex in the story & what was done was very tastefull. It fit with the style of the story. It has the typical set up of broody vampire meets kind & open human who is going to change vampire. But it's done differently than most other stories & it's done well. This was the first time I had read a m/m relationship (unless you count the beating around the bush done n BDB) so I wasn't sure what I would think. I found that it didn't matter at all as the love that was the focus of the story is what stood out and grabbed my attention. I totally recommend it to those of you who haven't read it yet.

I think the last book ended so perfectly I think my expectations for Chess were to high. I was hoping she would you know get a clue and stop whining. Oh well it was a good book. Love Terrible and I really missed Bump he is so funny!

Alisa Recently finished Dominion (Dominion, #1) by S.E. Lund Ascension (Dominion, #2) by S.E. Lund Retribution (The Dominion Series, #3) by S.E. Lund I really liked this series. I don't usually feel emotional over books but these had me all over the place. It keeps you guessing constantly as to what will happen next & there are no clear cut good guys/bad guys.

message 3960: by Alisa (new)

Alisa I'm now trying to clear out some "old school" books from my TBR pile for the new year. Currently reading Dragon Actually (Dragon Kin, #1) by G.A. Aiken

Sandra J Weaver (sandraweaver) | 147 comments I'm enjoying it. I wouldn't call it a "page turner;" but with the holidays and everything going on, it's a book that can be picked up and put down easily. I have several PNR books and cozies in the TBR waiting in the wings for a less hectic day.

THat was probably my least favorite in the series. There was a little too much relationship drama. Chasing Magic (Downside Ghosts, #5) by Stacia Kane is much better. There is a lot more action.

message 3970: by Yasaman (new)

Yasaman Noori (yasaman_noori) reading Steel's Edge (The Edge, #4) by Ilona Andrews
then until Ever After (The Hollows, #11) by Kim Harrison comes out, have to busy myself with some books!

message 3971: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) Finished Hex Hall (Hex Hall, #1) by Rachel Hawkins , it was a fun reading, too YA, too predictable, plot not that original, but I liked Sophie a lot, and will continue with the series.

Started Bloodfever (Fever, #2) by Karen Marie Moning , and as everybody said, I am liking it a lot. I'm predicting a read-all-that-there-is-out-there-till-no-book-or-short-storie-available-left kind of mood. :o)

Dawn (dawnv) | 4058 comments Finished His Purrfect Mate (Mating Heat, #2) by Laurann Dohner Mark of the Witch (The Portal, #1) by Maggie Shayne

Mark of the Witch was interesting. I think I may try to read the next one, but I hated the ending it was not like a cliffhanger but it just ended...weird!

message 3974: by Gin (new)

Gin | 338 comments @Dawn it's tied with the third one as my favorite, maybe even a little bit better.

I've started Dead, Undead, or Somewhere in Between (Rhiannon's Law #1) by J.A. Saare and I'm enjoying it more than I thought I would

message 3977: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) Finished Bloodfever (Fever, #2) by Karen Marie Moning and liked it a lot! Either the writing and the main character are improving... I liked it so much that I started Faefever (Fever, #3) by Karen Marie Moning 10 minutes later :o)

message 3978: by Dawn, Desperately seeking new worlds (new)

Dawn (dawnv) | 4058 comments Ok I need to check out the Lux series everyone seems to be raving about it :-)

Finished Tangle of Needthe romance was underwhelming to say the least but I did enjoy all of the side characters and it got me thinking..what happened to Clay from Mine to Possess? Or Sophia the Justice Psy...it also seems like she is about to conclude this story arc, I heard the series is not over with. It will be interesting to see what happens to the world after the civil war.

Gin | 338 comments Dawn wrote: "Ok I need to check out the Lux series everyone seems to be raving about it :-)

I enjoyed Obsidian (Lux, #1) by Jennifer L. Armentrout but in a very "this is kind of cheesy and YAish, but OMG I can't put it down" kind of way. The second one was a bit too much teen angst for me, but it left me curious enough that I'll still read the third.

I can say without hesitation it gets better at the end but the beginning is very slow.

message 3983: by Gin (new)

Gin | 338 comments I enjoyed Dead, Undead, or Somewhere in Between (Rhiannon's Law #1) by J.A. Saare and now I'm reading City of Bones (The Mortal Instruments, #1) by Cassandra Clare with Nairabell. I wanted to get to this series before the movie comes out, otherwise I'd never read it.

Lund back to back, I needed a break from such an intense series. Just finished Wallbanger by Alice Clayton yesterday. Loved it - 4.5 ★★★★! My TBR list is so long now, thanks to so many good recommendations, I'm having a hard time deciding what to read next. I've heard good things about Down to You (The Bad Boys, #1) by M. Leighton so that might be it. Or maybe Reflected in You (Crossfire, #2) by Sylvia Day ...

message 3985: by Michelle (new)

The Dominion series is really good huh? I was all over the place emotionally.

message 3988: by Alisa (new)

Alisa I'm currently reading two books. I don't usually read more than one at a time but neither are really drawing me in. They're both not bad but the plots seem to be moving along slowly. Especially the Showalter one. Definately not one of her better books. Last Kiss Goodnight (Otherworld Assassin, #1) by Gena Showalter A Kiss Before the Apocalypse (Remy Chandler, #1) by Thomas E. Sniegoski
