Questions About All Things In Death . . .
Possession in Death is when they had the backyard cookout but it wasn't Roarke's first time with the grill.
I loved that first grill experience. The fire warnings alone were hilarious. "How hard can it be?" Lol.
Sara ♥ wrote: "I love Possession..."Possession and missing in death were unusual and quirky. It took me 2 readings to really appreciate them
In what book do Eve and Roarke go to a picnic at the Mira's? Love Eve's interactions with Dennis Mira! Is that the same book where they decide to have a cookout of their own, and Roarke fights with the grill?
Okay, I'm in one of my sick modes where I just binge on In Death audiobooks. I'm in IMITATION and Eve refers to Mavis & Leonardo being married. I don't remember the wedding. Does anybody? Am I just having a brain fart?
I realize that. I don't recall the passage in Imitation you're referring to. I will glance back at (view spoiler) - it's certainly possible I'm remembering it wrong.
I just don't ever remember them getting married or ever engaged. I just thought they were co-habbing and then the baby.
Here's what was said in In Death Wiki about the mistake in Imitation:
In Imitation in Death Leonardo and Mavis are incorrectly said to be married.[50] (view spoiler) Responding to a question regarding the mistake in Imitation, Nora said, "I don't think we need a spoiler here for me to say Eve just misspoke. Mavis and Leonardo remain cohabs."[52]

I would imagine some authors would have to keep a database. And, of course, there are so many people that keep up on others too.

I asked this question of Suzanne Brockmann because her Troubleshooters series has so many characters and she described a pretty elaborate, color-coded notebook system that seemed pretty foolproof. I've never found any errata. But, her series isn't 50 books either.
I think with a series of this length, Nora is entitled to a couple of hiccups. When she changed the Harvo character to Harpo in two books, I sent an email. Noticed that in Obsession, she's back to Harvo.

Kristen, we must be twins since Eve and RoRke are my go to when I'm sick. This has been going on for at least 5 years. There is always something new and interesting to think about.

Sandra ~ ♥ Cross My Heart ♥ wrote: "Rapture In Death"Thanks, I'm going to re-read it before I re-read obsession in death.
I finished IMITATION this weekend. Now, I'm re-listening to BIG JACK. It's funny that this one is numbered after IMITATION, when it obviously comes before it!
I have a question about New York to Dallas. I am re-reading it and I know that Commander Whitney knows about what happened to Eve. Do you think he knows about her mother and what happened? Do you think he was told? Do you think Mira tells her husband since there is such a connection with them and Eve? I also know she tells Peabody in another book about what happened, so I wonder if Feeney knows. Next question! In Obsession, do you think Roarke will make McNab and Yancy rich with a new Murdering Morphing Dollies game? Wouldn't that be awesome? (like he did with Jamie)Also, you think there will be a romance and back story with Ivanna and Summerset? That would be cool too! My favorite Bella and Eve scene in this book. I was rolling in the floor laughing!
Just curious to your thoughts.
Those are some good questions Jillian. I think Commander Whitney was probably informed due to the case and needed to know. That would be my thought. I do think Mira shares with Dennis about things especially about Eve due to their relationship with her. As far as Feeney, hard to say. I think if he knows Roarke might have been the one to say something to him and I think he probably shared with Summerset too now that i think about it. I really hope his does the game for them. That would be great and would bring them closer too. Also gives McNab another outlet as well like Jaime.
I don't know about Summerset and Ivanna. It might be nice but you just never know. And the Eve and Bella scene was priceless!!!!!

And yes, I keep re-reading that Eve and Bella scene. I could just see the terror on Eve's face and the stubborn look on Bella's. Man, that was a great scene!

I would think Feeney knows, maybe not all the details but he knows she was raped. Considering he was her partner when she was a rookie, I would assume he clued into something or looked into her file. They don't talk about it much since they would both get emotional and uncomfortable.

Whitney would have to have been told because she was part of this case. Roarke told Feeney about her father in Ceremony in Death.
I'd be seriously surprised if Mira told her husband the details about Eve's past. That would be a serious ethical breach unless Eve gave her permission.

About Obsession...
I'd love seeing McNab and Yancy get some development help from Roarke for that game! I guess we have to stay tuned.
There must be a long-term plan for Ivanna beyond this book. Maybe Summerset gets a romance like you say.

I've checked to see if this has come up before here but cant seem to find anything, so I hope I'm not duplicating this question: why does Peabody (and her fellow colleagues) refer to Eve as "sir"?
I believe it was addressed in the book Loyalty in Death where Eve explained that women in rank had the option of being referred to as "sir" or "ma'am." In that story, Anne Malloy, head of the bomb squad division, opted for "ma'am" as is the discretion of the officer. Eve has opted for "sir" as it suits her.
The female captain in the Castle TV series also has her subordinates address her as "sir."

I always wonder about Eve's weapon. Is it like our kind taser or is it more like a Star Trek taser. I think it's probably similar to Star Trek.
I've always envisioned it to look like the early Star Trek phaser. Somewhere in this series it's been described and that's the image stuck in my brain.
Maggie wrote: "I always wonder about Eve's weapon. Is it like our kind taser or is it more like a Star Trek taser. I think it's probably similar to Star Trek."I think it's closer to Star Trek's. The reason I say is that they refer to the "stream" in several books. And they call it a laser in some. A taser shocks you and it has to have physical contact (the wires). Also, I think in some books, they refer to even close proximity affecting you.
I'm reading Ceremony In Death and really like Jamie's character! To me he's written in such a way that I can imagine him in future books. Do we get to read about him again?
Jonetta- I knew it!!! I'm SO glad and I'm looking forward to those books. Hope his character remains a good bad boy. Lol
He's such a complete opposite character to the other teenager in this book: Lobar. (Not sure of spelling cos I'm listening to the audiobook.) I found him to be one of the most detestable baddies in this series so far. That scene where Eve meets him got me so riled up. Disgusting little twit.
Michael-
I also wanna see many of the others in future books. At the same time I'm already stressing about the villains Eve's dealt with in past books, coming back to haunt her in future books.
Okay please help me because I love these two scenes. I know they are in two different books but can't remember which books or the whole conversation.Scene 1: Eve and Peabody are in her car and Peabody starts talking about the penis getting tired while Eve is getting pictures in her head of said penis Peabody is talking about. It was a really funny moment to me.
The other scene: Again, they are in the car and I think Peabody has some issue with McNabb. Eve tells her(don't quote me) that she doesn't get women. They see a man and say he is for me, get him, then spend the entire relationship trying to change him and if he does they don't want him anymore.
I have been trying to figure out for a while. Please help!!
