Wendy, just remember this is a personal challenge, not a race with everyone else. The important thing is to enjoy reading!!

Thank God for lunch at work!

So far I have read two books Ravens of Avalon: Avalon Book 3 and The Forest House.
I will be finishing up tonight my 3rd and 4th books because they had to be read together according to their time lines and they are
Lady of Avalon (Avalon Series) and Priestess of Avalon
I love this series so far. Happy reading everyone

Which 2 books do you want to go back to?
you should enjoy reading and do not think of this as a race. if you aree not in the mood it is difficult o read and if you read for the sake of reading and do read a lot you get overloaded and on't want to read after a couple of months

I will be some time later this yr read the book

Afsana, Regarding the two books, I meant that I need to stop reading three books at a time, and get back to my usual routine where I only read 2 books at a time.

My current/sixth read is another pnr: [image error]

144 books a year works out to an average of 1 book every 2.5 days. 11 days divided by 2.5 = 4.4 books, so you are right on track!
:P

LOL Kelly, you sound like me with the math! I'm an accountant so this is totally something I've been keeping track of :)

I find it interesting how much you liked this book and your comments about the beginning. I tried it when it first came out and got bored at the start so I gave it up. But some people from another group on here talked me into trying it again, said it a little slow, but the second one was better. So I did, and it took me until the last 1/4 of the book before it was interesting, and then there was the ending which had me cursing the second one wasn't in my house. I got that one right away and now am waiting for the third.

Yay, bring on the flu!! LOL, jk. :P

I will have to give it another go as I got half way and gave up and didn't bother with the rest!!

...and then there was the ending which had me cursing the second one wasn't in my house. I got that one right away and now am waiting for the third. "
Darcy, that was my reaction exactly, and my library system doesn't have even one copy of The Awakening so I'm off to the UBS to see if they have it.
Afsana, I almost took it back to the library several times after starting it, but gave it 'one more chance' at apparently the right time. Sounds like Darcy liked the 2nd one - I was really surprised that my entire library system doesn't have even one copy, but I know budgets are tight everywhere.

I feel like then as long as I am buying later ones in the series I should just have all of them. One good thing about the library system in MN is they do an interlibrary loan, and I have been able to get books from all over the state and sometimes they even go out of state to get the things I have requested.

I will definatly give it a go- found it the other day and will read it in within the next month
I like her women of the otherworld
what did you thing of the nadia stafford book? exit strategy couldn't get into that

I listen to audio at work & currently I am listening to Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell & Salvation in Death & the book I am reading is Witch & Wizard on my Kindle.
Ok time to quit playing on the computer & READ!!! LOL

I loved the suggestion of making a list for this challenge. I've started a mini list and I'm so excited to get some of these books knocked off my TBR list. Good luck everyone!

Our library system also does interlibrary loans, but I'm usually too impatient to wait that long!!
Where in MN are you, Darcy? I grew up about 50 miles from the Twin Cities.

It's dull. If you read a lot, you'll find exactly the same book out there by another rom..."
Oh! No!! I have that in my TBR. I thought, 'New author, try one.'

Ok, one of the last 2 books I read was Kitty Goes to Washington. As a resident of the Washington DC metropolitan area, I wish to state my protests at the way Carrie Vaughn portrayed DC. She just did NOT get the amount of traffic right. I mean, it takes me 15 minutes to get from my house the 2 miles to the Mall--and that's NOT during rush hour. So her having Kitty zipping around (even in a chauffer driven car) and taking very little time to get anywhere is just unrealistic. (lol, bet you all thougth I was going to object to her portrayal of that Senator, right? Nope, spot ON with him.) Still I enjoyed the book a great deal, and I now know how to dispose of an unwanted UnSeelie fae. :o)
