Thanks Lynn! This is just what I have always done in the past...I have in the past, logged the day I started a new book. But if you know me and look at my log sheet, you can tell the day I started a new book. It is almost ALWAYS the same day I finish one! Although this past year, I've been very bad about reading too many at one time....

I'm still working on redoing my DL list of 17 books for 2010. That is the only list of books I make other than that I just see what my mood brings me.
I usually do a written book journal and this I'm going to start a listing on my shelves in good reads for 2010 and here of course.

Well (hanging head in shame) I just visited Amazon and spent a BUNCH of money on books that are being released over the next couple of weeks. They are for series that I read, so I HAD to have them, really I did. :o)

I'm really jacked for this! I have my on-deck-to-read list #1 ready to go along with my little counter and I'm just finishing up a book today for 2009. I feel like a bigger geek than usual but I'm having fun and that is all that counts. :D
I think it's great that so many people are doing this challenge as it will be great inspiration and support for all of us.

I finished a book yesterday so hit 100 books for the year so far and 11 books for the month. Maybe today I'll still get a book finished don't know. But 12 for the month is a possibly. I'm looking forward to starting the new count for the new year. Have to decide on my new book journal today I had bought a few just have to make a final decision which one to use.

Mine will be The Babe And The Baron. Its for another challenge--its a "reading royality" challenge where the books all have to have something to do with royality in their title--King, Queen, Duke, Duchess, Baron, Baroness etc. or with the paraphanalia of royality--crowns, septres, thrones etc.

Its going to take me a while to get my first book read as it is Under the Dome Which may ot have been the best idea as maybe should have read easy/normal sized books first month so can feel confident!!

LOL!! Under the Dome was the first book I started last night, but then I put it down for a bit and picked up Rainwater (which is a lot shorter!) so that I could put something down on my log. I'm somewhere around p. 390 on Under the Dome -- it's going to take quite a while before it's finished!!

You 2 with Under the Dome, just wait. All of a sudden the action picks up and it becomes really, really hard to put down. But I can see why you would not want to start with this one, 1100 pages is a daunting book, let alone the first one you want for a challenge. LOL

I finished The girl who played with fire on New Years Eve- so my first book for 2010 will be the sequel- The girl who kicked the hornets nest. I haven't read too much yet- although I think I might have an early night and read a bit more.

I am going to start Malicious Intent A Novel which was a December Group Read in another of my groups and I only got like 5 pages into the book before I got sick, so I will start over and make this my first 2010 book.

Just read fluff. Romance, book about vampires, etc. etc.
But no, this year I am planning on catching up with some classics, Nobel prize winners, Booker prize winners, 1001 books to read before you die and all those newcomers that critics are raving about.

So I most likely won't reach 144 but I guess quality over quantity ;-)

Well, I spend most of the day on a "Girl's day out" with my daughter and granddaughter. We went to JoAnne's, picked up some fabrics for new quilts, a couple of quilting magazinesa, quilting book and, oh yeah, batting for a quilt. Then we went to see Did you Hear About the Morgan's. Pretty good movie, and I did have fun. Then I came home and read. I'd already made dinner (it was homemade vegetable-beef soup) so I didn't have to stop to cook. But book 1 is now finished and put away. The Babe And The Baron is a very enjoyable Regency romance--and a re-read. But hey, I was still in the mood for light and fluffy when I got home. :o)

I am fascinated by the book and finding it hard to put down. I will definitely finish it today. I really enjoying it and highly recommend it. It does make you think.

I have a hard time digesting romance novels. They take longer than nonfiction to read. Although, I'm breaking through. Some fantasy fiction has been getting better (I am not talking of Twilight). It is a good idea to get some classics down. There are so many that I pretended to read in school. Now I have no idea what they are about.

I got 8 Books in 1, Jane Austen's Complete Novels Sense and Sensibility, Pride and Prejudice, Mansfield Park, Emma, Northanger Abbey, Persuasion, Lady Susan, and Love and Friendship from ebay--and plan on re-reading all my old fav's plus Lady Susan which I had never seen before at some time this year. Not sure when, but sometime. Maybe I'll treat myself to 1 a month, and make them last longer that way. aaahhh my, so many books, so little time.

I just finished my first book yesterday evening. I have 2 other books in the works, and I need to go to the library to pick up another audio.

Right now, I am re-listening to Rapture in Death by J.D. Robb. I love these books and in the absence of another audio, I thought I'd do this one next. I read Immortal in Death recently in November so I won't do that one again. Rapture in Death is the 4th one. I go through these books pretty fast. It may be a way I can make up some numbers. And yes, I do not skip and read the whole thing again. Often, I do hear something I missed or don't remember.

I'm going to try and pick up an audio from the library that's on my January read list, but I may end up getting a different one, thereby adding to my already overburdened list. But at least I have a lot to choose from.
