I think thats what I will do in the months to come..easier for me to keep track of everything that way.

This segregates what I have read this year from 2009, so I can remind myself...
I've finished my second one for the year and I am reading my third one. 2nd one finished is House of Reckoning by John Saul. One that I am reading now is Break no Bones by Kathy Reichs.
I've read 3 books so far, should finish #4 today and will start #5. We got a lot of snow last night, so I don't think I'll be going anywhere today!
Ooo, snowy weather sounds great for reading Catherine. :) We were supposed to get a tiny bit today (which would be awesome considering that we rarely get any), but I'm not so sure it's gonna happen.Vanessa, I find then when you feel pressured to read and finish a book, it loses a lot of its appeal. I don't know of a good solution to this.
Halfway through number 5!I've broken it down to "3 books a week" to help me keep track better. That way, if I read 5 books in week one, I can slack off a bit in week 2 if I need to. It's interesting to discover that I read more--and faster--than I thought.
Of course, it's only week one of month one...

Well this is my pen pal book, so I'm kind of stuck. But I think, even if that wasn't the case, I would still finish it. It's different from a lot of the books I read and so I'm determined to get through it, if not only for that reason. I do sometimes seem to get into a groove and a little variety helps. The injury part is a little graphic at times and a major part of the story, so you may not like it. But I'll wait until the end to reach any conclusions. My pen pal partner has already finished it and gave it 5 stars. Should make for some lively discussion!

This is one that I myself will definitely be skipping though - can't handle the injury stuff.
Kelly,I'm on leave from my job for another week, so I'm glad I didn't have to drive in the 6 inches of snow we got last night. We already had a few inches on the ground before that, and we might be getting a few more tonight or tomorrow! It's quite a bit for our area but living in Illinois you just never know. Iowa has gotten it a lot worse than we have.

The UK has come to a halt with the sow-stuck indoors
Catherine and Afsana, I am envious :) Snow is so beautiful. I'm glad you didn't have to get out in it Catherine. We just got a few flakes within the past half-hour, and I'm crossing my fingers for some more!

Cars stuck can't get up our hill.
Now everything will turn to ice and make things more difficult and we are meant to have freezing temps for next 10 days!!
Melissa--if you like mysteries, have you tried the Hannah Swensen series? (And for you cookbook/recipe collectors out there, this is a great series for you too.) The "detective" is the owner of a cookie bakery. And the cookies that she gives recipes for--yum, yum, yum. You can put on weight just READING the books. Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder this is the first book in the series. And Afsana--I agree, snow is VERY bad. I tell my family not to use 4 letter words when they say it. :oP We had 18 inches just before Christmas--so we had our FIRST white Christmas in like 40 years or so. The weather people said that that 1/100th inch we go in the 80's wasn't a "real" snow, it was just extra heavy frost. Sigh, and I'd been telling my daughter that she's had ONE before this year. Lousy weathermen. We are supposed to get 1 inch tonight--which means 1 of 2 things--we will either get nothing--or we'll have a foot. Anytime they predict only 1 inch where I live that's what happens. I'm tired of cold, snow, cold--and did I mention COLD?
I haven't read much the last couple of days--I've been run off my feet. And this Sunday I have a quilting class. So I won't get a lot of reading done on Sunday either. And I still need to finish getting ready for the class--prep fabrics, move the applique patterns over to my thumbdrive for the embroidery machine, get together border fabrics, etc. Sigh, so much to do, so little time for reading.
I just finished book 2 today, Blood Dreamsby: Kay Hooper. I'm starting Grave Sightby: Charlaine Harrisand BoneMan's Daughtersby: Ted Dekker.
I've finished 3 books and about to start my 4th. The Shack, if anyone has read this please let me know what you thought.
Book 8 is down. :o) It was a re-read. But again, one I'd read while my father-in-law was ill. So I didn't remember much (ok ANYTHING really) about it. PNR with a great deal of humour in it.
Lisa wrote: "I've finished 3 books and about to start my 4th. The Shack, if anyone has read this please let me know what you thought."I read this book just a little bit ago. Not my typical read, but I still enjoyed it. Very thought provoking like Catherine said, and it seems that people either love it or hate it!
Lisa wrote: "I've finished 3 books and about to start my 4th. The Shack, if anyone has read this please let me know what you thought."I read this a while back too. Parts of it I really liked. Other parts, I had a hard time with on many levels. I think a lot of how you view this book depends on your life experiences. It will make you think.
We had some of that white stuff today during the night. It stopped so they weren't coming around to clean up only put salt down so I went out real fast to clear the sidewalk and driveway before it iced up. then came in and finished another book.
I just finished book number three. It feels good to be adding books finally. I am not doing a list because I like choosing books on the fly. On to the next one!
So far this month I have readUnder the Dome (book addicts monthly read)
G is for Gumshoe (book addicts challlenge)
Drowning Ruth (personal reread challenge)
Mr. Monk and the Dirty Cop (my personal challenge
Am reading

and Diana: Her True Story - In Her Own Words
I have only finished my first book, but I am halfway through books 2 & 3 and hoping to start book 4 on Sunday.
I am going back and forth to NJ tomorrow by train so I hope to finish book 2 and 3. I only live in Connecticut so that is about 4 hours of reading.
Colleen, I make the reverse trek. I go from NJ to Connecticut almost every month to see my nieces and nephew, but I drive.Have fun tomorrow.
LOL that is so funny I am going to see my nieces and nephew. They live in Tenafly. Thank you I will, it is my sister-in-law's birthday.

I work in Hackensack, so you will be fairly close to where I work.
I'm at #11 now, since I finished #10 a few minutes ago. It was Jessica's Guide to Dating on the Dark Side, which is a YA book. Its a very good YA.
I'm reading that book now. And I'm sure If I like it or not yet.
I'm only in the middle of my 3rd b/c I just can't seem to separate myself from my laptop. After I type this, I'm going to shut it down for a while and READ! Congrats Ann, you're moving right along!
I just finished book three and going on to book four, five, and six.I just finished Grave Sight by: Charlaine Harris
going to read Grave Surpriseby: Charlaine Harris
Susan, those are good ones. Plus the best thing is that the author has finished the series so it is one you can read all at once and get a conclusion and not be left hanging.
I finished my 6th today Are You afraid? by Carla Cassidy. Probably will finish one on my ipod tomorrow I would have finished it today but it just went dead on me so it's charging.
Well, I finished 4 books today. Its amazing how much reading you can get done when you are trapped in the bathroom. I had a horrible bug that's going around where I live. So, I'm now at 14 books for the year. I hope I feel a LOT better tomorrow. On the plus side--I DID hold down the soup my hubby got me, so I'm trying to be optimisticBooks mentioned in this topic
