"Yeah, but you used 'destroy' in the present tense." Sabrina replied. "Not the past. And you don't destroy anymore."

"No you didn't." Sabrina said, and she tried to smack him on the arm, overestimated and hit the car door, then moved her hand slightly to her left, only for her hand to catch his face. "Was that your face?" she squeaked. "Sorry!"
Alek took her hands and held them in his. "Yes I did," he said. "I destroyed your life starting the we met, and now I've taken it too."
"Stop saying that!" Sabrina snapped, yanking her hands back. "I loved the day we met, and I've loved every day since, and I love you, and I don't regret anything!"
"I love every minute with you," Alek said. "I don't regret a single moment. I regret the type of person I am. I regret the danger I always put you in."
"I'm not in danger now. Nothing's threatening my life." Sabrina replied.
"Every minute I spend alive is a threat," Alek said. "The cost is a life for a life, and you gave this too me."
"Remember what Christian said?" Sabrina said. "Because you weren't dead dead that wouldn't happen. And especially now that he's sealed my powers, this is as bad as things'll get."
"You say that like this is a minor thing. Like its a paper cut between you fingers," Alek said. "This is bad."
"Ok, so I'm underestimating a little." Sabrina conceded. "But you're also overreacting!"
"Overreacting keeps you cautious," Alek said. "Keeps you from letting things happen more than once."
Sabrina rolled her eyes. "Well it certainly doesn't seem to be working, so you should just drop it."
Alek didn't feel like having a full blown fight so he did let drop and just held her.
"I'm going back to my seat, and I'd like to go home." Sabrina said, reaching over until her hands touched the back of the passenger's seat, and then she very clumsily fell into it.
"Alright," Alek said softly. He turned the key and drove off.
"My real house." Sabrina clarified as they drove. "I haven't been home in two days and last I checked my mom had called me five times. It's probably more by now."
"You can't," Alek said, "not now. For one thing your mother will freak out when she finds out you can't see; and secondly, how will you protect yourself from Henry, or Balthazar, or whatever, if you can't see him?"
"I know the house...sort of. And I can't keep avoiding the house." Sabrina said. "It's going to be bad enough explaining as it is."
"Fine," Alek said. "Just get to your room as fast as you can okay? I'll meet you there. Tell your mom that you were with Jacob and Susannah, helping out now that Jacob's home, and that you might need to stay for a little bit longer, that they really need your help; it's not a lie, but it's not completely how it happened. Say that you were messing around with some color changing contact lenses and they messed with your eye, and that the impaired vision is only temporary. And don't get stuck in a room alone with Him."
Sabrina nodded. "Alright." she said, but she wrung her hands nervously.
"I'll be in your room the whole time," Alek said, putting a hand on hers. "If to need me just yell."
"Ok," Sabrina said, and when they stopped she stepped out of the car cautiously.
Alek got out and led her to the door. "Just try to get to your room," he said, then knocked for her.
When Shirley opened the door, she gasped, and pulled Sabrina into the house. "Where have you been?! I've been calling you and calling you, and you haven't answered, and I was two seconds away from calling Chief Swan!" she said. "Um...about that," Sabrina said, and she gave her mother the explanation that Alek had thought of.
Alek went and parked the car then teleported to Sabrina's room to wait for her, listening as best he could with his now normal hearing.
At the end of her explanation Shirley sighed. "We'll talk about it later. Just...go into the kitchen, Henry's already there. I'll bring out dinner in a second." she said.Sabrina nodded, then turned only to hear her mom say, "Where are you going? I said to wait in the kitchen."
"Right." Sabrina said, turning the other way, trying not to be too obvious about how she was keeping one hand just ahead of her to keep her from bumping into something. 'Impaired' vision didn't mean 'blind' and the last thing she needed was for Shirley to notice.
Alek paced around the room anxiously.
When she got into the kitchen - or what she hoped was the kitchen - Sabrina nearly tripped trying to find a chair. And then when she did, the hand that suddenly found its way to her thigh said that she'd ended up right next to Henry. "Everything alright, princess?" he asked, sounding like the Henry - sleazy and creepy as he was - that Sabrina had known all her life, and it was weird to think that he was really someone else altogether. Sabrina slapped at his hand, and only just hit it. "Everything's fine. Keep your hands to yourself." she said.
Though she couldn't see it, Henry smirked and withdrew his hand. "It's good to see you, darlin'" he said as Shirley came back and set the table. Sabrina mentally groaned as she realized she'd be hard pressed to serve herself when she couldn't see the dishes.
Alek started to get worried, wondering what was taking her so long.
"Actually," Sabrina said, standing suddenly. "It's been a long day and I'm really tired, so I'm just going to go up to my room." and she dashed out, not hitting anything by pure luck. Finding the stairs was difficult, but once she did, getting up them and to her room was no trouble once she could put her hands out in front of her without worrying about Henry or her mother seeing her.
As soon as she was inside Alek put his hand against the door and sealed it with magic. Then he wrapped his arms around her and kissed her head.
Sabrina pushed him back. "Don't do that." she said.
Alek shook his head and pulled her back into his arms. "No," he said. "I want to make every moment count until I can't."
Sabrina whimpered. "Why delay the inevitable?" she said.
"Because I'm not ready yet," Alek said, running his fingers through her hair.
Sabrina sighed, but let herself relax in his arms, leaning her head into his hand.
Alek tangled his fingers in her hair with one hand, the other pulling her closer.
Sabrinas arms looped around his neck and she deepened the kiss slightly.
Alek put both hands on her hips, holding her against him so that air could not get between them.
Sabrina moaned softly, running her tongue along his bottom lip.
Alek took her face in his hands and slid his tongue past her lip, moaning as the taste.
Sabrinas tongue moved against his teasingly, coaxing it further into her mouth.
Alek moaned, pushing his tongue in further, following hers obediently.
Sabrina moaned, sucking on his tongue.
Alek backed her into the wall that divided her room for the one on its right and slowly pushed up the hem of her shirt.
