Sabrina sat up. "What's up, mom?" she asked.
"I was cleaning downstairs and I swear I heard...and I was afraid it was just me imagining things..." Sabrina's heart sped as she feared she and Alek had somehow overlooked something and her mom knew she'd had a boy in her room. "Anyway, I had to come up here to check. Was that you I heard laughing earlier?"
Sabrina was so taken aback by the question - as it went in a completely different direction than she'd been thinking - that she was quiet for too long, and her mom repeated the question before she said, "Oh, yeah." she said.
"I haven't heard you laugh like that since...you know," Shirley said. "What was so funny?"
"Nothing." Sabrina replied. "I was just talking to someone...on the phone."
"Who?" Shirley asked. "Anyone I know?" Sabrina just shook her head. "Well, I hope I get to meet this mystery, hilarious person." As she left she paused and said, "It was good to hear you laugh again, honey," before continuing back to her cleaning.

Sabrina mumbled in agreement, already half asleep.

"Will you sleep here again tonight?" Jacob requested.

"If you want me to," Susannah said. "But I worry I don't let you sleep comfortably. It might be better if I didn't." she added.

"Get dressed and come down to see." Shirley said, hurrying back down the stairs. "And be quick, don't leave him waiting!"
Though she had no idea who her mother was talking about, Sabrina got up and started getting dressed.

Sabrina stopped at the doorway, her feet wanting to take het anywhere but into that room.

When her mother said, "Come join us," and patted the seat next to her on the couch, right between her and Henry, there was nothing Sabrina could do but move forward and sit.

As soon as she left, Henry smiled and rested his hand on Sabrinas thigh. "How''ve you been, darlin'?" he asked.
Sabrina slapped his hand away. "Don't touch me," she hissed.
Henry laughed. "Honey, I know you liked it." he said in that slightly southern drawl Sabrina had come to so desperately hate.
Shirley answered the door. "Hello, what can I do for you?" she asked.

"Don't be so full of yourself. You might have fooled all of Aliey, but I know how twisted you are." Sabrina said.
Henry's smile turned into a sneer. "You were never more beautiful than when you cried and told me stop, Princess."
