message 3502: by Fiona (Titch) (new)

Fiona (Titch) Hunt (titch) Just finished Shelter - Tara Shuler. Wasn't a bad book, was interesting in parts for the style of book. Found quite a few spelling and grammar errors and sent an email to the author telling her. Now I am going to read Vigilante - Kerry Wilkinson.

So much more happens in the book that was not in the show. I definitely recommend sticking with it. You will be SO excited for the next season of the show!

Still rereading Pern series books. I'm on my 6th. I love this series so. Though, I noticed a LOT of typos in Chronicles that I didn't remember......"

The Night Circus DID suck! I was mad that I had spent money on it- and time.

Fiona (Titch) Hunt (titch) I've had a 5hr bath and finished Vigilante - Kerry Wilkinson. Had some spelling/grammar mistakes, but all in all a very good thriller. I kinda guessed near the end who was doing it and will be carrying on reading the rest of the series. Now I think I will go back to reading Halfhead - Stuart MacBride.

message 3507: by Fiona (Titch) (new)

Fiona (Titch) Hunt (titch) I've finally given up on Halfhead - Stuart MacBride

"I am sorry to say that I have given this as much energy and time as I can, but I still can't get into the storyline. I have no idea the characters are like the way they are. Not sure where the story is going with a prolific serial killer not doing much as it is and why the police officer is just sat in a pub moaning.

Oh well, I do love Stuart MacBride's books. But I really couldn't get my head and teeth into this Sci-fi style book".

message 3523: by towner77 (new)

towner77 I'm reading Roger's Version by the late, great John Updike. Very religiously dense but delightfully thought provoking. Also, spicing in Robert Creamer's bio of Babe Ruth in reverence to the World Series in Boston. One hundred years ago Babe was a teenage delinquent residing in a Catholic reform school in Baltimore and no one had ever heard of him. In just a couple three years he was winning World Series games in the very same Fenway cathedral as a 21 year old prodigy.
