Clark, was that book worth reading? I'm curious enough to read it.

Gus, just got it from the library last night and haven't started it yet. It's cowritten by Legs McNeil. I say that's a good thing.
I'll let you know.

I have a copy on hold on the library wait list...

Christopher Moore is hit or miss, although I absolutely loved Lamb.
Cool. Will you write a review after you're done? It sounds fascinating, but I'm still not sold on reading it.

I've only read "Practical Demon Keeping." It was ok but there was one character I liked, the demon Catch. My good friend who loves Moore says he's in Lamb, I think. I just recently picked up "A Dirty Job." I think I'm going to like that one.

I'm currently reading Good Omens and it is the worst Gaiman I have read to date. Good enough to finish, it just seems to jump around willy nilly.

Already there, RA. I think I have certain sections of "Please Kill Me" memorized.
It's at once depressing and hilarious.

There's one thing that I can't quite figure out, that the character can't figure out either. I suspect it will come, eventually. It's great reading about the American characters, because they feel both overdone and completely true at the same time. I think my slight disconnect is from the fact that the book takes place in the 1980s. Maybe the 70s, actually? It mentions a pet rock...

Thank you! I like being blasphemous! :-)

I just finished Daughter of Fortune. It's going to be hard to find something that engrossing to follow it up with. I'm back to Sookie Stackhouse for the now.

Is that Terry Pratchett, Gretchen? I've never tried him. Something tells me he wouldn't float my boat.

I read Sookie Stackhouse at night for that reason. Charlaine Harris repeats the main plot details and explains who characters are every third page, so I'm never confused. If I read her during the day, however, I get annoyed.
*snort*
Book five? Ten? Are they sequential? Or is he just prolific? Do these books feature the same protagonist, or what?

For me, the series doesn't make me laugh out loud but I chuckle and giggle a lot. I agree that the first six aren't great but you get to meet two of the best characters in the first two: the Luggage and the Librarian. And I'm not saying any more about those two!
The Discworld books are also my go-to books when I'm reading a horror novel and I need something comforting to read in bed.

Thanks, kevin! I was trying to display the flurry of excitement that almost wiggled my grossly bloated human-producing body right out of its office chair.
I've already recalled it from the CSU library user who has it until next Monday.
