Stephen Pearl (stephenp11) | 272 comments Hi all, Just wanted to announce that my Paranormal detective story Nukekubi is available for pre-order from Dark Dragon Publishing: http://darkdragonpublishing.com .

From ancient times nukekubi have haunted the land of Japan. Living as men by day, these beasts slip their heads free of their flesh at night and go in search of human prey. These hapless souls are driven into a terrified madness that results in their death.
Ray McAndrues, a modern-day wizard, must neutralize a nukekubi that is feasting on the people of Toronto. He is aided by Cathy, a sorceress of numerous charms, and Toshiro and Kunio, two, Japanese, martial artists who have made hunting nukekubi their lives' work.
As the quest plays out, questions arise. Who is hunting who? How can you slay the beast that stalks the night without slaying the man who walks the day? What is the strange, millennia-old connection that binds Ray to the beast, and will it help or hinder the quest?

The book will be available March 1, 2012

Kashif Ross (kashifross) Hello! I'm an urban fantasy and science fiction writer. My novel, Barcode: The Legend of Apollo, just released this weekend. The story is about Spencer, an infamously well-known “god” uninterested in his own fate. He turns nineteen-years-old on the first day of his last year at Colt Academy, the academic institution for gladiators. To celebrate, he unwillingly mentors a mysterious nerd, watches his family's helicopter plunge into the ground, and meets a strange Louisianan boy that may want to kill him. With the future of his family's fortune on the line, Spencer not only has to fight the occasional trip to Hades, but also train with his most hated childhood friend, discover the truth about his mother's death, and reestablish his legend as America's savior.

Kenechi Udogu (trixycae) | 25 comments Hiya everyone,

I'm giving away free copies of my new e-book on Amazon.com from 12.00am Pacific time on 7th February till 11.59pm 8th February. Link and blurb below. Please spread the word and review it if you enjoy it (or dislike it) and have the time. Every little helps.

http://www.amazon.com/The-Altercation...

The people of Vira have long awaited the arrival of their lost princess, Elve. Legend has foretold a season of great change in the dawn of her return. For the Maracans, she brings the promise of fortified control over their rival kindred. For the Cefans, a glimmer of hope in an existence filled with oppression.

The only problem is their princess is eighteen year old Ama Brown, an ordinary girl living an ordinary life, who has no idea that she is about to be drawn into a world where an age old battle is brewing and nothing is quite as it seems.

James West (jawest) | 16 comments Hello,

My name is James A. West and I love to write epic fantasy! There is nothing better than being swept up into another world :)

If anyone is looking for a fast-paced apocalyptic fantasy novel, then feel free to check out The God King

The God King by James A. West

Heroes are not born, they are forged in the fires of apocalypse...

In the heavens above, the three moons crash together, streaming fire and death in their wake; below, the seas rage as the roiling face of the world shatters. After Prince Varis Kilvar steals powers to transform himself into a god, chaos reigns from the king's city of Ammathor to the forbidding walls of the Black Keep. At his heels marches a demonic army torn from the very bowels of the Thousand Hells, and the risen God King uses terror to stake his claim over all lands.

Betrayed and bound to Varis by powers he does not understand, mercenary Kian Valara is forced to masquerade as the world's savior, while a beautiful Sister of Najihar prepares him for his last battle. Victory against a living god is far from certain, but vengeance? For Kian, when the battle rage falls upon his soul and the sword hilt is hot and alive against his palm, vengeance is never out of reach.

You can get it for free at Smashwords with the following coupon code: NY35B

It's really nice to meet everyone, and I have to say I've already found many books I want to read in this group :)

Best wishes!
James

Janet McNulty | 17 comments Hi everyone! My name is Janet McNulty and I am writing the Legends Lost trilogy under the pen name Nova Rose. It is different from other trilogies because each book is set centuries later from the previous one. But they all take place within the same location.

I've already published Legends Lost Amborese, which is actually the second book, chronologically. It is available on Amazon and Barnes and Noble.

Legends Lost: Amborese

In this book Amborese is the heir to the throne of Tesnayr, but the throne has been empty for over three hundred years. She is unaware that she is the queen until her home is attacked by dark creatures who are ruled by an evil wizard named Clymorus. Amborese is thrust into a world of deception and cruelty as she tries to discover who she is and claim what is hers. At the same time, Amborese must unite the five lands of Tesnayr, which are currently separated by constant war. Assisted by a talking cat and her friend Zolo, Amborese must prove to the people of Tesnayr that she is not only the true heir to the throne, but that she is capable of leading them to victory.

As a side note, I am giving away 1 signed copy of Legends Lost Amborese. The contest ends Feb. 14, 2012.

I am currently writing the prequel to Amborese (Legends Lost Tesnayr). In this book, you learn about the man Tesnayr, who is the first king of the five lands of Tesnayr. THe kingdom was named after him.

Tesnayr first enters the kingdom as a emotionally broken soldier from another kingdom far across the sea. He befriends an older man and tries to start a new life, but his new start is shattered. Orcs invade the land, the same orcs that destroyed Tesnayr's home world. To protect his new friends, Tesnayr seeks to stop the invasion. He clashes with kings who fail to realize the gravity of the situation. However, he gains the trust of the people and form his own army. Tesnayr must face his past and learn from his past mistakes from the last time he fought the orcs. Can he save his new home, or will it perish like the lest one?

The third book in the series is Legends Lost Galdin. This one is set 500 years after Amborese. Right now it is just a few notes, I'm concentrating on Tesnayr right the moment.

This third book is about the prince Galdin who is lost as an infant and grows up unaware of who he is. When he is grown he saves his sister, though he doesn't know its his sister, from a bunch of slave traders. Eventually they discover they are siblings. Together they have to save the lands of Tesnayr from some faceless villain who is bent on conquest. (I'm still working that part out.) There will be court intrigue and epic battles.

This is the series I have planned. All three books will have a wizard, elves, and dwarves. To me it isn't fantasy without them. Also, the three books will have talking cats who assist the main character in their venture.

I hope to release Legends Lost Tesnayr by the end of this year. I am planning to release Legends Lost Galdin in the next two years.

Nick Marsden (nepharid) According to the Canticles of the Aramzin, five gods took human form and destroyed the creature known as the Necromancer.

But that's not what really happened...

The Legacy of Shatara is the story of the man who will discover the truth. Covan Korish, a savage warrior with a vendetta against the inhuman Gazzin, is forced from the war that has defined his life for almost twenty years. Soon, he finds himself unwillingly caught up in a more subtle war between the Devotees of the Aramzin and the Cult of Maruk. When the dust settles, his homeland will lie in ruins and the Necromancer will once again walk the world of the living. Only if Covan can put aside his anger and hate will he see that his true enemy is not the Gazzin, but one who shares his own blood-soaked fate and a terrible legacy... The Legacy of Shatara!

After a series of tragic events Katie cries herself to sleep on her sofa, only to find when she wakes up that she’s in a whole new world. A place where the worst creatures from your darkest nightmares exist, all their efforts bent on killing her.
But fate it seems has other ideas for her as she quickly forms a friendship with a man named Bargo; who not only reveals to her why she is in so much danger, but ultimately who she is. Through him she learns that she is being hunted by an army of witches, wizards, werewolves, orcs, trolls, ogres and all manner of other dark creatures. That they themselves are governed by a ruling race of vampires, led by Cilia. From the moment she meets Bargo her name doesn’t seem to right anymore and she quickly shortens it to Kate. Kate learns of the coven of sorcerers whose sole purpose it is to track down and destroy evil; and that she is destined to lead them to victory against Cilia and her armies.
Once united with the entire coven Kate feels as though she truly belongs for the first time in her life. Along with true friends Kate finds true love with Balthazar a fellow Coventian. Along her journey Kate also discovers the truth about the deaths of two of the founding coven members, and a secret that could change the fate of the coven.

Jennifer Bresnick Hi all! My first novel is now available on Amazon.com for only $0.99!

The Last Death of Tev Chrisini

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B007JZH9QC

Tev Chrisini is a soldier who can't die, caught in the middle of a war that won't end. Unable to discover the cause of his unique and puzzling condition, Tev has spent the last five hundred years avoiding the notice of the two rival powers that dominate the bitterly divided political landscape.

After a crushing defeat and an unexpected truce with an age-old enemy, he and his friend Lerien, an intelligence agent with a grim past, are sent on a seemingly simple mission with a delegation of peace.

Their errand takes a turn for the worse when Cerawen, a calculating young woman with her own agenda traveling under their protection, flees their care with a wanted murderer.

Her defection irreversibly sets them on an increasingly perilous path into strange and unfriendly lands, on a race against dark forces, to find a weapon capable of unparalleled destruction that could bring about the end of the war and unlock the secrets of Tev's past - and his future.
