Dex looked at the little screen "The professor also had a machine like that!" He remembered "Maybe it's still here"

"He did?" Shadow asked. She wondered what sort of stuff he would have had on there.
Dex nodded and went away. After a while, he came back with a similar computer "You think it still works? What does it do?"
"You never know, it might," shadow said, coming over to look at it. "Well, you can search the Internet and create stuff, and well, I'll just show you."
Dex nodded and looked at it "it sure looks complicated"
Shadow shrugged. "It's not once you get used to it. Sure is dusty, though." She opened up the lid and a faint light began to glow.
Suddenly, his eyes turned white and a metallic voice came out of his mouth "Welcome back, Mr. Brown"
"Holy shit-" shadow jumped and almost dropped the computer.
The computer beeped and a menu popped open "what would you like to do, Mr. Brown?" Dex said in a metallic voice again
"Um..." Shadow looked at the screen, at Dex, and then back at the screen again. "Activate Dex?" She said hesitantly.
"Activates Dexter-version 2.0" Dex blinked and his eyes returned to normal "You found my manual!" He smiled "it was in that machine all along... I wish I knew that earlier"
Shadow breathed a silent sigh of relief.what did that thing do to you?" She asked.
"I'm connected to the machine" Dex explained "so you can activate my functions through it"
Shadow raised an eyebrow. "Yeah, maybe I'll let you do that. I don't like the thoughts of controlling someone."
Dex nodded "Neither do I like to be controlled, except when really needed, and only by the professor" he looked at the screen and began to click on buttons
"He would really do that to you?" Shadow asked.
Dex nodded while he read through the manual "not very often, though. You see, I think i has a certain purpose, which I don't know. And all the "version two" thing creeps me out. Who was version one? What happened to him? Or was it her? So many questions"
Shadow nodded. It did all seem kind of creepy, and she wasn't the one experiencing it. "Was it Raem?" She asked hesitantly.
Dex shook his head "no, he is... I mean was... Different. A completely living being, that could live by itself. I still needed some reboots and fixes from time to time"
"Oh," shadow said. She looked over his shoulder at the computer screen.
"Let's try this" he clicked on a button. He stood up and said in a metallic voice "starting operation" his legs got longer and longer until they were three times longer than before
Shadow took a step back. "Damn, that's cool," she said.
Dex grinned at her "and watch this" he typed a few things and little legs came out near the big ones, spinning around like a top "I think that's a self-defending function"
"Holy crap. This professor or whatever thought of everything, didn't he?" Shadow stared in awe.
Dex nodded "Except for his sudden death" he sighed "anyway, I think I can move all the information here into my head, so I won't need to use the computer anymore"
"Well yeah, I guess except that," shadow said. "You can really just download it like that?"
"Not exactly... I'm going to keep the computer here working. I can communicate with it through myself, so I'll send something to the computer, and it'll make it happen on me. The professor said it's one of my most useful abilities"
Dex sighed "I only wished I wasn't such a confusing machine..."
Shadow looked at him. "What's that supposed to mean?"
"Well, I feel like I'm incomplete. That there's something missing... That will always be"
"Oh," Shadow looked at him. "Like what?"
He sighed "I don't even know"((Do I make it too complicated? I just had an idea and it went on and on XD))
((No you're good lol :D I'm just role playing her like this because her people skills aren't that great. Do you want something to kind of start between them?)) Shadow nodded and looked away.
((Yeah I think they went through enough things for something to start. But Dex would never make the first move :p))"So um..." He sat down "crazy stuff, huh?"
((Yeah sounds good))Shadow nodded. She took a couple of steps closer and found herself taking his hand.
Not sure what to do, shadow leaned forward and gave him a light kiss on the lips.
Dex blushed and looked at her "Sh-shadow"
Shadow gave him a hint of a smile. "It's Lydia," she said. "My real name is Lydia."
Shadow shrugged. She looked away for a second before leaning in and kissing him again.
Dex blushed again "I don't understand..."
"Don't understand what?" Shadow pulled away and looked at him. She took a seat in a chair facing him.
"Why did you... Kiss me" he said "and told me your name"
Shadow fidgeted a little, taking some time with the answer. "I don't know- I guess it's just- I've never met someone who's stuck with me through stuff like you have, and..." her face turned red, embarrassed.
Dex looked at her and blushed "yeah it's ok, I get it"
Shadow glanced over at him, trying to see if he felt the same way.
Dex sighed "I'm only afraid I won't know how to react"
Shadow nodded. "Me neither," she paused. "I've never really... thought about someone like this."
