"So do you want money? Are you working for somebody?" Shadow winced as she talked. She likely had a couple broken ribs.

He chuckled and shook his head "No, no, I live here alone by myself" he said "I don't need anything"
"I don't believe you." Shadow said, straightforwardly. "Nobody would take in somebody like me without expecting some kind of profit." If she forced herself to only look at his face she could finally stop her voice from shaking.
He stared right into her eyes "'Like me?' Is there anything I should know about you?"
Shadow laughed. "Only that I'm a stranger you found beat up and bloody in the woods," she lied.
"As long as I'm not in trouble for helping you out..." he sighed "Anyway, I'm sure you would've done the same"
Shadow shrugged. "You should be fine," she said. She couldn't figure him out. The fact that he would do that was baffling to her.
"So" he smiled "tell me a bit about yourself"
Shadow snorted. "Why would I do that? You first."
"Um, alright" he looked at her "well, as far as I know, an old professor created me using metal parts combined with body parts. But he died shortly after he finished, so I still have no idea why he did that. I live here because, you know, humans"
"Shit," shadow looked at him. "So that thing's metal?"
He nodded and tapped the two front ones together, making a metallic sound "I'm basically half human and half mechanic"
"Wow," shadow said. "That actually... Makes you a lot less creepy."
He chuckled "So I guess you don't want to meet my brother..."
Shadow jumped, and immediately regretted it as pain shot through her side. "Brother?" She cautiously looked at his face to see if he was joking.
He nodded "you see, the professor based me off of his previous invasion... A human and spider hybrid, also known as my brother"
Shadow laughed nervously and impulsively looked around the cave. "Is he... Here?" She could handle one, but two would be too much.
"Yeah, I'll call him" he smiled "Raem! We got a visitor!" Raem heard him and walked to them "A visitor?" he looked at her "Who is she?"
"Shit," Shadow said as she saw him. Why did it have to be spiders? She tried to breathe slowly to calm herself down.
"I found her laying injured in the forest" Dex explained. Raem gave her his hand "I'm Raem"
Shadow gave a nod in reply, not taking the offered hand. "Hi."
"Nice name" Dex said. Raem looked at her "so, shadow, I guess you're staying here until you're fully recovered. Feel yourself at home"
"It would seem that way," Shadow said. "Thanks."
"No problem" he smiled "you need anything?" Dex asked
Shadow looked back and forth between the two of them. "I don't think so," she said.
((I have an idea! Maybe something happens and she wants to rescue them but she have to choose which one to save?))
((Ooh that sounds really cool! (But cruel) lol. So what should happen? ))
((Maybe there's like an earthquake and there's a big hole in the ground and them both stuck holding the ledge))
((Should we like say some time has passed, maybe, and she's gotten to know them a little bit now?))
((Okay, so I'll say it's morning))Shadow woke up in the cave feeling a lot better.
"Morning," shadow replied. She stood up.
"Okay," shadow replied. Although she was almost completely healed, she could still barely move her left arm.
"A little bit," shadow replied. She looked around. "Where's Dex?"
"Went out to collect some food for breakfast" he explained
"Okay," shadow said. She ran a hand through her hair, trying to comb it the best as possible.
I wanted to ask you... What do you think about us?" He asked "I mean, you're the first human to ever see us"
Shadow gave a nervous laugh. "I don't know, really. I've gotten to know you a little bit, and that made you not as scary."
He nodded "Yeah, we're not bad or anything. Only... different"
"I know that now," shadow said. She wondered sometimes what they thought of her, but she didn't ask. She'd never told them anything about her past.
Dex came back with food "Oh, you woke up!" he smiled "I brought some food for breakfast"
Shadow gave him a small smile. "Thanks."
He separated the food between them and began to eat
