Oh and I picked up a new book with a blue cover and just had a character called Etty turn up so I can use it for the WD4 😊

How did you like the ending? Had you guessed the truth about Atlas before the final book ? Enjoyable series.
It was so moving the Lucinda Riley's son was able to finish the series after her very sad passing.
I actually enjoyed that one more than most of the previous books in the series! A very suitable and satisfying end to the series, I thought.

I wasn't hugely surprised - she'd left a lot of hints along the way. Was good to have the whole series wrapped up though.I'm really glad she'd left enough notes and that her son felt able to finish it. Still annoyed that Sue Grafton's alphabet series will never have a Z.

Yaaaayyyy! Finally on the board! I have 2 more that I should finish in the next couple of days. We’ve had relatives visiting last week & I wasn’t getting too much book time in. I should be on track at least for a while now!

Sorry, I made a mistake. The book I finished yesterday, The Nightmare Before Kissmas, is actually first in a series not standalone. I fixed it on the spreadsheet. I wanted to let you know, though, in case you had already planned where to put it.

Quick update- we have completed 2 full hands and have books covering other cards also.
- all coloured covers we have claimed and are being read
- only one more reverse card left
It will only be a few more days until the mini is announced, so for the moment just keep on reading. We are doing really well!
What is the ruling on articles in names for Spell-outs? Are they to be used, or can they be ignored?(Dutch names are particularly pesky for them. If they were counted, most of the country could start with a D or V 😆)
We can do completion posts if we want or if using the SS is tricky for whatever reason. Sometimes they prompt questions about the books or conversation which can be good.Captains: I've just finished reading a book (Quinn the Jade Treasure Dragon) to my son which was 11000 words. It'll be on my read shelf but won't count for this.
EEP! I spy with my little eye: something yellow from a galaxy far, far away...*Impatiently waits for caps to come announce stuff before I go all giddy*
What I will say though is...
MURDERBOT!!! 😆
Yes, I heard that Murderbot was going to be a TV series. I haven't read the books but my trivia team are all super excited.

I went through the list of books read so far and I haven't read any of the ones others have read. If we're still looking for a Reverse card, that's a good way of figuring out if someone read a book you have. Then you could tell them and they can put it in as a Reverse. Maybe you all already thought of that.

yeah, I tend to check whenever I add a book. But we should be fine for reverses this round. We only need 1 and there are several on the sheet right now. I suspect we'll be needing plenty more in round 2 though!
Oh, I thought she said one more. Oops. Well next month I'll have more time to read books that fit because I'll be down to one other challenge halfway through the month where I can also read whatever I want.

Yes, she said one more, but several then got added to the sheet, so we don't need to go out of our way to find any until next month now 😁

February Mini ChallengeHas everyone had a look? ;) https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
We need to choose 6 characters that we want to read the tasks for. One needs to be a hero and one a villain and the rest our choice.
Remember, this is only for books finished after the start of this mini challenge on 14 February, 9am
Shout out your choice for characters if you have any preferences!
Edit- our preferences below-
1. R2D2 & C3PO
2.Jabba the Hutt
3.Darth Vader
4.
5.
6.
Yes, but why no Boba Fett!? He's my 💗I would definitely suggest 3PO, as Murderbot is all over the Artificial Intelligence list, in case anyone would like to read or re-read. (I would myself, but I only just did!)
Not that I'm trying to push those books on people or anything.
(but seriously, go read!)
Seriously though, I can read for pretty much anything there.
I can also read pretty much anything but who doesn't love Jabba the Hutt (Or Pizza the Hut, as my kids used to call him, LOL)

I can find something in most of these but since I mostly read romance, I vote for Darth Vader and request that I get task 34. :)

Question: Do I need to read separate books for the mini challenge? I have participated in Uno so many times yet I always get confused on this portion ... LOL
      1 more to go!1. R2D2 & C3PO
2.Jabba the Hutt
3.Darth Vader
4. Princess Leia
5. Hans Solo
6.

All good Karen. Captain's pick.
If it helps, you don't need to worry about chosing tricky ones like MPG war or horror because I can definitely cover those. And I even have a book on the 'boss' shelf (will surprise no-one as much as it does me! 😆)

      Ok, let's go with:1. R2D2 & C3PO
2.Jabba the Hutt
3.Darth Vader
4. Princess Leia
5. Hans Solo
6. Luke Skywalker
If we get stuck, we will just get Sammy to find an obscure book haha
I've dropped the books I have already planned to read into the mini where they fit, but I'll hang fire grabbing any more until I get an idea of what will need specific searching for 😉If there are any tasks people have a definite "heck no" reaction to, just holler and I'll concentrate on those.
I’m out of town and the hotel’s internet died so I only have my phone working. I may not be able to get into the spreadsheet until Tuesday but I’ve signed up for two mini game topics so far, one of which I’ve already completed. I’ll look for more when I get back Tuesday.

I finished this one today - book 22 of the series so I knew what to expect ;)
Easy read and generally good fun
Completion post. My work computer does not let me open the google spreadsheet, so I will have to put the date completed when I get home.

Amazon totally came through for once, so now I'm settling in for some quality audiobook time with a packet of dark chocolate Tim Tams, my Murderbot mug full of hot chocolate and a new audio to get stuck into.#todaylifeisgood
I've bought some timtams. Husband dearest put the food shop away and I have no idea where he's hidden them.
