Do it! Info is in the first post, try not to make it google-guessable, but distinctive enough to only apply to a (hopefully single) book.
In that case... :)13) After a freak accident a high school senior is able to talk to her freshman-year-self and change all the mistakes she made over the past 4 years, although some of these changes have undesirable results.
Justanotherbiblophile wrote: "HINT time: I suspect almost everyone has read #7"Well, I was going to say (view spoiler) but I doubt that everybody has read it!
::goes off to ponder some more::
Sophie wrote: "Oh! Is #9 [spoilers removed]?"Yes!! Well done :)
Edited: Sophie's guess for #9 is correct, (view spoiler)
Hmm, (view spoiler) is the only failed industrialist in that novel, Michele - most of those industrialists aren't failed, they're just on strike :)But no, it is not that novel... :)
And Michele, was I right on #6? You never actually said...
I'm guessing number 7 must be a children's book if almost everyone has read it. Can't for the life of me think what it is, though!
Justanotherbiblophile wrote: "Hmm, [spoilers removed] is the only failed industrialist in that novel, Michele - most of those industrialists aren't failed, they're just on strike :)Very true, very true. I'm leaving Monday on a cross-country train trip, I might have to take that book with me...
And yes, sorry, your guess for #6 is ccrrect!
#12 is nagging at me, there's something familiar about it but I can't put my finger on it. For some reason it makes me think of (view spoiler) but only some of them are siblings so I'm 99% sure that's not it.
Sophie wrote: "Not sure if this has been guessed for #7: [spoilers removed]?"I was kind of thinking that too.
That, or the reaction to Michele's guess for #3 is exactly what I was hoping to get out of this game.
Damn, I thought of the answer to #7 but then second-guessed myself!Tana, I don't remember those kids being rebellious at all, but it's been a long time.
Lobstergirl wrote: "15) A young Spaniard is chosen for a job that does not suit him."(view spoiler)?
That is incorrect, Michele. Or, perhaps that does happen in that novel, but I haven't read it so I wouldn't know.
Nobody has gotten 12 yet...and I'm worried I made it a tad too hard to guess. Unfortunately rewording it now would probably instantly give it away.I do have another this should be easy
16) Elderly man is fed up with obnoxiously loud neighbors and goes over to teach them a lesson.
Lobstergirl wrote: "I also feel that #16 could be [spoilers removed]."*snort* It's funny how many of these could be that, isn't it?
Aaron wrote: "Nobody has gotten 12 yet...and I'm worried I made it a tad too hard to guess. Unfortunately rewording it now would probably instantly give it away..."Would it give it away just to say what the genre is (fantasy, SF, YA, etc.)?
Guess for #15: (view spoiler)? Although actually he turns out to be quite well-suited so maybe not...
Boy, people do love the Outsiders... :)Aaron, I gave a hint, which helped people narrow it down to children's book.
Ruminate on what type of hint you could give that might not give it all away...
