Apparently I've been needing comfort. lmfao

My work wife is OBSESSED with that series! lol

I've read both of these already. I really liked The Wishing Game. I found Starling House to be different than what I expected but still enjoyable!

I'm on my phone so it's not convenient to make a cute link. It's called Book-Games.

I'm also terrible at finishing series (serieses?) And have the last book in the Throne of Glass series to finish. As a matter of fact I've never read the last Harry Potter book either.

Barrons 🤤 haha everyone should read it!!

No need for fancy links. :) Thanks for sharing!

I enjoyed Wishing Game too. I might reread for points I think it's been long enough. I'm interested in Starling House, it's available at my library so I'll join in for sure.

@ MH - I will usually keep reading series if I enjoy them but if not or they are just eh then I'll move on.

Here is the link to my shelf: https://www.goodreads.com/review/list...
The last book that I gave 5 🌟 to is One for the Money by Janet Evanovich. It was a funny book with a likeable protagonist, very easy to read.
I'm looking forward to reading The Sword of Kaigen, just because I've heard a lot of good things about it.
I read the Hunger Games when I was younger and I liked it, but it's not on my list of top favorites. It's been a while since I read it though, and I may like it more this time around. I do want to participate in the reads. I've watched the first movie but again, it was a long time ago.
Food-wise, I love crepes, pasta, sushi, and soup.
My favorite weather is winter. I love the cold.

I read The Wishing Game at the beginning of the year and enjoyed it, I should be able to reread for points. Note to self - Do not finish until July 1st
Probably going to start with The Hunger Games first but see what fits my mood

Oh! I think I voted both of those. Off to reserve at the library. :)

Here is my shelf.
What was your last 5 🌟 book? Out on a Limb by Hannah Bonam-Young
What book are you excited to read from your TBR shelf? Evocation by S.T. Gibson and any Junji Ito manga I haven't had a chance to get to yet.
Have you read/watched the Hunger Games? Did you enjoy it? I have no read nor seen Hunger Games, sad I know considering the game we are in!
What is your favorite food? (Since we are the grain district!) My favorite food is anything with pasta, especially Ravioli!
What is your favorite season? ☀️❄️🌸🍁 I adore winter, but not the freezing winter Texas has been hit with in the last few years - we can't handle it down here!!
I look forward to chatting with everyone!!

I forget about series I started sometimes. It's not because they are bad just having to wait for the next book to come out sometimes takes forever and I forget. But I have a shelf that I named "series read" and I've gone back and made a list of series I have started and forgot about and am slowly going back and finishing them.

Love the series read shelf idea! I may try that. Right now I just have a shelf in my room that holds the next book in my neglected series -- and that's just the immediate ones I want to get back to.
And Kristen Ashley is also my go to when I can't find anything else to read. I can always count on her to get me completely wrapped up in the story. :)

Welcome Sunny and Kristina!
@Sunny - all you need to do is read and have fun! I love the snow but not the cold LOL
@Kristina - That age is the best :) They are just starting to have their own little personality!

@Sunny agree just read and have fun….
So happy everyone is checked in !!!!!

Thanks, Louise, I'll check it when I get home from work.

I’m going to assume that most books will be able to fit into a couple of categories so I would say at least in the beginning we’ll read whatever we want. When the challenge starts we will have a better idea as to what to expect and where to plan for.
New challenge means new ways for the Mods to torment us 😂 so it’ll be interesting to see what they come up with!

Is anyone planning on reading a BIG BOY book during this challenge? I'll more than likely read the Throne of Glass series throughout and some of them are bigger books.
But I've had The Way of Kings on my TBR for years and I really think I want to read it during Book Games!

What is considered a BIG BOY book? Over 500pgs? I've been debating reading When a Moth Loved a Bee which is 830pgs but it's the first book in a series and it came out in Feb 2023 and the second book hasn't even been announced yet, actually on the author's website under release date: On Hold, so I don't know if I want to start it. I think that's the biggest on my TBR list.

They will both be finished soon, likely, but won't count for the challenge. Sorry y'all.
I'll read more that length, though, during the challenge. I'm working through the Cosmere so..

To me probably anything over 700 would be a BIG BOY. Those 1000+ are not always easy to get through!

I tried to read anything within the last 2 weeks and I could not get past the first couple chapters so I’m ready to start. I think my brain was so focused on this game it didn’t want to attempt anything else lol

One was a buddy read so its not QUITE my fault hahaha"
LOL yea yea we’ll let it slide this time 😆

I can add a page count since I’m a librarian. What book is it? Can you link the version you’re reading?

Let me know if you do! We can chat about it

It's this version of Creed. Amazon says 432 pages. Thanks!

I loved The Way of Kings! I didn't enjoy the second book as much (still three stars though). I'm hoping I'll enjoy the next one more.

If you are participating in this BOM this is the chapter breakdown.
Date Chapters MPDQs
16 May: pages 1-71 - Chapters 1-8 Melindam
17 May: pages 72-141 - Chapters 9-18 Judith
18 May: pages 142-212 - Chapters 19-27 Alisha
** Break DAY **
20 May: pages 213-285 - Chapters 28-39 Jenny
21 May: pages 286-365 - Chapters 40-56 Rosina
No DQ points for us unfortunately but we get participation points.
20 points for at least 3 days of discussion questions answered.

When we finish a book are we just marking it on the sheet? For UNO our captains wanted us to complete it on the sheet and then do a completion post.
