**Remember to use the first edition Kindle page count only! If your page count comes from a Kindle edition published on the initial publication date on the editions page, it will count. If your page count comes from a Kindle edition labeled '1st edition', it will count. If your page count comes from the earliest dated English language Kindle edition, it will count. I am looking for one of those three things when confirming your books! As long the page count you list is correct, I will accept any link to the book. Ebook page count will be acceptable if no Kindle page count available. The acceptability of other page counts will be made on an individual basis.**
Please note that a rating is now required in your completion posts! A small review is also welcome. 😊

Please select a team leader to help keep track of where your team is in any given task. And as necessary guide discussions for task decisions. Any teammate can report your completions though. I will use the team leader as a point of contact if needed.
Remember, it is the team's responsibility to notify the host (me) if a teammate fails to complete the task in a timely manner or otherwise goes missing! I am not checking all the team threads regularly to notice and may only check when notified a task is complete.
PS - If you want to be known as anything other than Team 7, you are free to come up with a team name. 😉

I'm from sunny Australia and live with husband, 3 teens, and my lazy cattle dog. Reading is my main hobby and I make time to read each day to keep me same.
MountainKat advised that the first Task will be assigned on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at 6 PM US EDT - which will be Sun 8am for me.
This is my first time with this challenge. I'm happy to to have a go at Team Leader, but if anyone else wants the job, its yours!
Any thoughts about a name? Here's a few I found online:
Paperback Riders
One more Chapter
Read It and Weep

I live in Portland, Oregon. Mom and Grandmother. Love to cook, craft, read, do puzzles, garden, movie buff and what not.
Julie if you want to be captain I am all for it.
I would suggest that on the tasks that are ones we all have to do same author etc we get those preplanned so there is not a rush if selected to figure out what to do.
I like Read it and Weep
Looking forward to this challenge one of my favorites.

I'm in Louisiana, so central time zone. I usually don't get a chance to login to Gr until after 5pm my time during the week, and not at all or really late if my sister asks me to babysit. On the weekends it varies due to plans, but I will definitely check in through the week.
I also like Read it and Weep for a team name and am happy to have you be our fearless leader, Julie.
I'll login at some point tomorrow to post some options for the tasks that we need to plan for.

I have amended message 5 to show our team challenge tasks.
I agree with Emily it would be better to make some decisions about the tasks we need to agree on beforehand.
To start, rather than clog these posts (as there are a few to decide on) I will message each of you a list with all the questions that need a group decision. Please reply with your suggestions/ choices asap.
The tasks that need further discussion we can chat more about here.

I'm off to the hairdresser then I will update list and raise anything still undecided.

Task 1 - Each teammate reads a book initially published in April of any year OR a book with flowers on the cover - teams decide. No pass for this task.
April showers bring May flowers. Or so the saying goes… It’s been mostly snow showers for us lately, though my daffodils are trying valiantly to bloom! As a team, decide if you are reading books initially published in April of any year OR books with flowers on the cover. (Please note that says ‘flowers’ - plural. Your book must have more than one flower on the cover to qualify.) If the team has decided on April for this task, you will be using the initial publication date - if there is a date at the top of the editions page USE IT! Otherwise I will be looking for the earliest dated English language edition of any format for the qualification. If the team has decided on flowers on the cover, you may use any edition’s cover to qualify your book. The qualifying cover must distinctly and clearly show more than one flower on the cover. Please include the qualifying cover in your completion post. Remember to use the first edition Kindle page count. No pass for this task.
A book in April of any year or more than one flower on a cover - I'm ok with either, but maybe flowers would be easier??

It sounds like Emily has started & I'm ok with either. I was hoping Chris would comment, but it would be good to decide.

I've chosen: Russian Roulette which has flowers on cover and first published in April!

A female hacker, with three broken hotties, trying to stay one step ahead of the mafia - this may not be an original plot but I was hooked. I liked the easy to read writing style, character & relationship development between Jade and Kit, Seven and Vulcan. The book ended on a great cliffhanger and I'm eagerly seeking out the next in series to see how they all get together to defeat the bad guys.
Fav Quote:
“Where have you been all my life?” she asks, propping her head up to gaze deep into my eyes. “I’m serious.” Time crashes to a stop as we gaze at each other, both of us realizing the truth. We’ve both been charging recklessly toward this one moment our whole lives. I thread my fingers through her hair and pull her lips down to mine. “I don’t know, sweetheart. I’ve been lost for the longest time. I’m here now, though, and I’m not leaving.”

Molly gets a chance to cover a crime story about the a body of a newborn infant being found. Molly struggles with the story as it resonates with a loss of her own. Molly will find out that not everything is as it seems.
Told from multiple points of view, I found myself having difficulty connecting with most of the characters. The story was definitely a tangled web and I thought it was going one way and then something would happen to steer it in another direction. I think for me it just hopped to much between characters that it muddled it for me.

Review: Wren walks up on a very uncomfortable scene between her fiancé and his employee. She thinks she may be making too much of what she sees, but her mother told her to always trust her instincts. She quickly learns that she was right to do so.
Now she's going to visit her father to get away from the small English town she and her ex-fiancé live in. Things are not exactly smooth on that end either, but it's better than running into her ex with his new lady love.
Not longer after getting there she meets Anders. His family owns the neighboring farm to her father and stepmother's farm. They become friends of a sort, but things evolve over time. The problem, Anders is not ready for a relationship. She thinks she knows why, but it's definitely more than she bargained for.
This story was about healing. Was it heartbreaking? Yes. There were a few times when I got misty eyed, but overall, all of these characters had things they needed to deal with and heal from. Each family as a unit, had things from the past that affected their dynamics in the present and each character has some things from the past that carried over into how they behaved and treated others. I was glad to see Wren get some closure from events from her childhood.

I've been stuck reading this other book that I choose for a challenge and waited too late to change it after realizing I didn't like it very much, so It's taking me entirely too long. I've only been able to get through a few pages each night, but the goal is to finish that one by Thursday or Friday. 🤞🏽🤞🏽

Review: I read this years ago and loved it and I'm glad I found a reason to relive the greatness that is the writing duo. Carter is our playboy pilot. He meets Kendall when she is on the cusp of a major life decision (at the airport). The end up embarking on this adventure together that is full of fun, but also heartwarming conversation. All the while realizing that they have a strong connection that just can't be explained. I laughed and I misted up a bit and let me tell you the sexual tension is palpable.

Bella Keating was going about building the life she had created for herself only to find that her Father, who she never knew the name of, has died and left her his NFL team The Bruins. Now she is supposed to run it and prove herself in a way that she is not all that comfortable with. Give her algorithms and she can hold court, give her people and it is not quite as easy. Bella finds herself with an ally she did not expect, Quarterback Christian Knox who agrees to help her. Problem is he also wants to date her.
From the first page you are pulled in and turning the pages as fast as you can read. I fully relished every moment of this story. Christian makes his interest known from the get go, he is intrigued by Bella who is unlike any woman he has met. A bit of a Cinderella type story which I was absolutely entertained with.

Playboy Pilot Going to have to check this one out. I do not read a bunch of pilot ones, not sure why but your review and reread makes me want to seek this out.
