Foster made a promise in his hospital bed when his leg was taken from him that he’d get back to one hundred percent. Leg or no leg, he’d get back on the SWAT team if it killed him.And he does get back. But he has a problem.He can’t let go of the past.The anger burns deep, making his emotions volatile at the best of times.Then he meets Blake with her haughty attitude and inability to distinguish the difference between a pocket knife and a sword.Little by little, she makes him whole again, one bad joke at a time.She doesn’t see the revenge in his eyes, though. Doesn’t see the rage burning deep.Rage so pure and all encompassing, that he knows it’ll explode.It’s just a matter of time.What Foster doesn’t realize, though, is that the love that Blake has for him is enough to fight his demons, one kiss at a time.Foster never stood a chance.

I have read a lot of Lani Lynn Vale"s books and I've really loved them all some of course more than others but I have to say this this book is in my top 3. It. hit me more emotionally than any of the other books I've read in a very long time. Foster is great , missing a piece of his leg or not he is pure Alpha just like I love my heros. And I loved Blake sweet,strong and someone who doesn't let life kick her without kicking back. It was a total romance with action and passion in spades. What made me an emotional wreck was the relationship between Blake and her Daddy. Her daddy was a badass state cop who loved his daughter to pieces and Blake was a daddy's girl through in through. When her father died I cried because I myself was a daddy's girl and new exactly how she felt. At the end when the priest reads a letter to her and Foster from her Daddy as they are about wed I cried. It was so well said and perfect for the couple to hear. I really do enjoy when a book sucks me into its universe and makes me feel apart of the story. This one was terrific.

Omg!! Foster & Blake!!! What a couple!!! Amazing book. Funny and emotional!!
This is a book about imperfect people and how someone can overcome whatever life throws his way. Foster is the perfect example of that. He lost his leg. Now he must return to his work as a police officer with a missing limb. But he makes it work. He is brave, he is good at his job but he keeps people at a distance.
Blake enters his life like a tornado and changes everything. She awakens feelings in Foster. He wants her, he is attracted to her and he wishes to protect her. The question is can he trust Blake to see beyond his disability?
Black was an amazing heroine. She did not stare, she did not judge; she never made Foster feel different or inferior.
Foster amazed me with his will to continue with his life despite everything. I loved him.
Their chemistry was off the charts and their banter funny and emotional at times.
Breath-taking book. Do not miss this one. I finished it in one sitting. A real page turner.

Charlie Foxtrot
Lani Lynn Vale

5 stars -- meaning that going back and picking up every single one of these books is a MUST!

I’m going to be all over the place with this review because one I’m ticked at myself. Little story; I have had these books on my radar for weeks and just hadn’t swung over to click them up. A few days ago, an ARC of Charlie Foxtrot showed up on my kindle I thought “NICE .. now I will get to see what these guys are all about.” I finished the current ARC I was reading and then dove in yesterday.

SILLY SILLY GIRL ….. Yeah that’s me. WHY am I silly – because I SHOULD HAVE BEEN THROWING EVEYRTHING ASIDE AND READING THIS THE MINUTE IT SHOWED UP ITS THAT DAMN GOOD. AND YES IM SQUEALING WITH DELIGHT!
Lani Lynn Vale is something else. I laughed; said hell yes, oh shit, or at minimum had a smile on my face throughout this entire book. This girl can write her ass off.

So if you hadn’t read any of Code 11 – KPD SWAT like my dumbass then you don’t know that Lani gives us words of wisdom at the beginning of each chapter. These words to live by are ether thoughts from the characters themselves or from … “words of wisdom.” I found myself highlighting several of these and reading them to my hubby last night the minute he worked through the door and headed for the shower. (Yes he was looking at me like I was cray cray but that’s normal.) At one point I was laughing so hard he said “I don’t even know what you are trying to say.” --- bwwwwaahhhh! That is your first gift from her in these books.

Second you have the most fascinating group of characters intertwined in the pages of the story. Charlie Foxtrot is the story of Foster Spurlock. Foster lost his leg in a horrific incident protecting his brother Miller and sister in law Mercy from “CB.” There is plenty of back story so if you haven’t read the previous books you are good. These books are written as standalones. Foster is bound and determined to make it back to SWAT and that is exactly what he has done. The guys at the station refer to Foster as “Crush” which is getting old, leaving him disgruntled. The constant rimming by the guys sucked so he was ready for the ticked off woman, whoever she was at the front of the station with her snotty attitude demanding she see Office Spurlock; Badge number 654.

Blake was a woman on fire. She was livid that some despicable police officer would give her grandfather, a fine man, a veteran a ticket for having a pocket knife on him. Who in the hell does that? After exchanging some more sass Foster pulls out his phone and shows Blake that not only was her grandfather carrying more than a pocket knife but it was closer to a butcher knife. Blake now reeling with her grandfather and being followed outside by Foster lays into her grandfather, comes back with a “pocket knife” that turns out to be a double sided switchblade that is also illegal. Storming off Blake is livid and runs for cover back home to drop her grandfather off with her parents hoping she hasn’t just screwed up the opportunity her Uncle Darren, also known as Chief Rhodes at KPD, had just gotten her at KPD as a dispatcher. LOL – this story just gets better and better … but right there is exactly what happens to open up the floodgates to this hysterical read.

The banter between all of these characters is entertainment in itself especially all the Foster brothers. You have everyone or what I believe is everyone on the pages of this book. There is the snake in the grass of an ex husband David whom also is an officer at KPD, the legendary Lou Shank Rhodes (Blake’s Dad), the SWAT team (Downy, Luke, Nico, Bennett, Michael, Miller, John and James), guys from the The Dixie Wardens and Free which let me just tell you is comprised of police officers, Marines, Army Rangers, Navy SEALS and more. Just throw me in a mosh pit with all of that and shut the door. DANG!

I know I absolutely cannot do this book justice through a simple review and it seems like Im babbling along here but I can tell you this series is a must read. Its an easy read but a great storyline. There is drama, crazy stuff happening to Blake, a pet bird that is awesome, continuous stages of hysterical laughter but also some pretty real to life heart wrenching events.

Im planning on picking up the previous releases as soon as I am done writing this and also the future releases. I get giddy with these types of series because with all the characters running through the pages the books we HOPE to get from Lani could be endless. I went back and counted six books in the Dixie Wardens series I have to pick up and an additional six in the Freebirds series. I have been lost and now I am FOUND ladies. Go grab all of these up including the other series I just listed and get to reading.

Lani gives up a preview of Kill Shot releasing September 3rd. Bennett’s story, at the end of Charlie Foxtrot

Coupe De Grace -- Michael’s story is coming soon --- (Fist pumps the air!)

Review to post on Ramblings From Beneath The Sheets blog on release day. I was so thankfully gifted an ARC for an honest review.

This h cried more than the h who'd been raped. No joke! Blake got divorced from her cheating ex who then moved his cheatee into their house and Blake moved a couple blocks away from them. In the beginning of this I heard way too much about David so I unfortunately started off annoyed. Then she cried, cried, cried.Then ppl broke in etc etc she went to stay with Foster, they have sex he protects her then they love each other,bad guys get caught,her dad dies,pregnancy,married,baby. The end. I was bored again! The reasoning behind the shooting and break in which led to her father's death was DUMB!!!!! Shank was a badass and didn't need to die so I was even more upset. Grandpa being a badass and cameos by other characters just didn't save this one. Definitely not a favorite which is sad because I loved Foster's reaction to being an amputee,I fully expected him to devolve into alcoholism and bitterness but he didn't.I wanted to enjoy his book but life doesn't always work out as planned😭

Foster has been bitter since he lost his leg, he doesn't blame anyone than the crazy woman who made him lose it. However, he is tired of being coddled and treated like he is made of glass. The only woman who treats him as a person is Blake who is busy chewing him out. Foster is intrigued and when Blake finds her house broken into, Foster is there to help her out. The attraction is undeniable and when it turns to something more, Foster will do everything to protect the woman who has stole his heart.

Loved this one, definitely a favorite. Foster I liked, he was an unusual hero and Blake was a hoot. One of the best series out there, each book is unique and entertaining.

This one got high stars because I loved Foster so much in the last book and he’s a pretty awesome guy in this book. There are some differences in the book description and what the actual book is, though, which I listed below. Overall, it’s on the good side of LLV’s books.

Foster (SWAT, lost his leg in the last book) meets Blake (divorcee, daughter of a legend) when she chews his butt out for giving her grandpa a ticket (discrepancy listed below). She is divorced from a fellow cop, whom she left when she found out he was cheating on her with his “beat wife”. For the first several chapters, she’s really hurt by his cheating. Sounds like she loved him which made it difficult to think Foster wasn’t just a rebound. She has a lot of self-esteem issues because of it, especially when her ex commits to the other woman. Personally, that happened to me IRL so I totally get her emotions involving it. Anyway, her house is vandalized and for some reason, Foster volunteers for her to stay at his place. I’m surprised by how many of these people just offer up their homes to virtual strangers, only to end up hooking up with them. Maybe that’s what I need to do to find my next ex-husband.

Anyway, she’s in danger for a while. They fall in love. Her mom was an utter b*tch and I’m so glad Blake stood up for herself. I really hated what they did with the lobsters. I thought it was really cruel. There was only one tiny mention of Foster’s promiscuity before Blake, but it turns out to be nothing. I’m not sure why they even put it in the book. Foster is really committed to her and she’s committed to him. Then the worst part - A prominent character not only dies, but they die in a brutal, gut-wrenching way. And I cried – which scared my mom because she didn’t see my earbud was in. I hate when characters we love die. I would rather have the miraculous healing. In the end, it’s no surprise who the bad person is. We get the same exact ending as with all the other books. They get married, have babies, and they live HEA.

POTENTIAL SPOILERS AND COMPLAINTS BELOW

First, the encounter between Foster & Blake in the last book made it sound like she was this little hellion and badass girl. Then the first part of this book, we think that might be true, but quickly see that Blake is really just depressed with low self-esteem. Not NEARLY as fiery as we’re led to believe. She kind of mopes around and thinks nobody likes her or wants her. So I didn’t really like that part of it because I wanted/expected her to be spunky and funny.

Then the book description says:
“He can’t let go of the past. The anger burns deep, making his emotions volatile at the best of times. Then he meets Blake with her haughty attitude …… . Little by little, she makes him whole again, …. She doesn’t see the revenge in his eyes, though. Doesn’t see the rage burning deep. Rage so pure and all encompassing, that he knows it’ll explode. It’s just a matter of time.”

None of that happens in the book. He’s a little irritable in the beginning of the book, but gets over it quickly. Def never see him expressing a rage so pure and encompassing. He’s a sweet and gentle giant.

Finally, her grandpa is a retired officer. Her dad is a Texas State Trooper, and also a living legend. When Foster first gives her grandpa a ticket, I’m pretty sure he should have recognized him. Then – when everyone discovers who Blakes dad is, they’re all shocked. If the man is a living legend that all of the SWAT team idolizes and claims that he’s their hero, how did none of them know he had a daughter with the same last name?? That part didn’t make sense to me.

Oh – you know LLV has to have vagina and potty humor in all her books. So Foster throws a fit when Blake uses his razor to shave her vagina. He’s like, you do know that I use that on my FACE. Um… you literally munch down on her coochie every chance you get and talk about how you love smelling her on your beard. Why does the fact she shaves her twat with your razor bother you so much?? That doesn’t make sense. Also, that same thing happened in another book. I hate when they recycle content.

Also, one of the animals is named Boris and that's the same name as the cat in Texas Tornado.

Overall, it’s not horrible.

I really want to know how she does it, how she can produce one amazing book after another!!!!!

What an amazing book.

I loved foster, he wasn't what I expected at all. He was your typical bossy alpha that lani writes so well, but he was different, I know they have all experienced something but nothing compared to the hurdles he had to overcome, and other than the fact he was less sociable and more moody, to me personally he didn't dwell on it or feel sorry for himself, he also wasn't ashamed or hide the fact he had a prosthetic leg(which in a lot of book i have read they have gone through them feelings) I was lovely to see him kick ass and prove he's just the same regardless. I loved how he just decided that Blake was his.they he was with her was hilarious, and God he was just smoking!

Blake really just cracked me up though most of the book. She's the type of heroine I love, full of sass and witty humour, strong yet soft when she needs to be... After what she went through with David the dick I'm surprised at how easily she accepted & trusted foster (if that was me I'd be evil about men lol) her crazy antics and attitude reminded me so much of boomtown lanis first book, it just warmed my heart. Also the way she was with foster, it was no big deal to her she loved him and didn't think twice about his leg, in fact a few times laughed about with his and wound him up about it(stealing his crutches so he had to hop after her, to which she pissed herself laughing because his dick was swinging! At this point I was choking on laughter haha ) lani is a genies with humour!!!!

There chemistry was smoking honestly I had to stop at one point to control myself. Just yummy. Together they rocked my world, between the hot sex, the witty banter and the hilarious fights just lol

the book wasn't all shits and giggle though at at a few points I really did break my heart, moments that make realise lani Lynn is not only a good writer but a truly fantastic writer! If she could bring out a new book ever day or even every week I proberly wouldn't read anything else.

I loved seeing all the gang from freebirds and Dixie wardens as well as the KPD swat guys too, they make the book with there antics!
I honestly could gush all day over this book, it was fantastic and if you don't buy it it's totally your loss.

If I could give more that 5stars I would

Charlie Foxtrot is book 5 in the Code 11-KPD SWAT series and is Foster Spurlock's story. We know from Execution Style that Foster loses part of his leg while while saving Mercy & Miller. Foster is former military and currently KPD SWAT and this is who he is. He does everything in his power to return to SWAT after his accident, but he is no longer the Foster that he was prior to the accident.

Blake is a woman scorned. Her ex-husband, David, is a cop with the Kilgore Police Department. She has recently found out that her ex husband had had side action for a long time and is now expecting a baby with his new girl. Newly divorced and on her own, Blake is starting over.

Blake's new job puts her at the very police station where both Foster and David are employed. Blake's new house is broken in to and then shot up during a drive by shooting. While waiting for her house to be repaired, Foster insists that she move in with him. Tensions are high but will they act?

What happens when David realizes that Blake has moved on from him? What happens when Foster finds out the details of what went down with Blake and David? Who is behind the drive by shooting meant to take out Blake?

Another amazing book by the amazing Lani Lynn Vale! KPD SWAT is easily becoming one of my favorite series - but I said the same thing about Dixie Wardens as well. I love Lani Lynn Vale's writing style and the smart ass banter between the characters. I LOVE the little blurbs at the beginning of each chapter as well!!

I'm pretty sure this was the best book in the series. I loved Blake and Foster together and I loved them as individuals even more.
It was very emotional. I had not expected that because Foster and his brothers were basically kids trapped in grown-up's bodies, which guaranteed hilarious banter and awesome chemistry among all characters, so the Shank's story kind of caught me unprepared. There were no paper issues on hand...

Uma coisa não consegui entender... se o pai da heroína era um badass, como ele não protegeu ela das atitudes horríveis do ex-marido dela? Ele ferrou a heroína totalmente e a família ficou quieta! E o tio dela também ficou na moita!!!
Mas como adoro a série, gostei muito da leitura e recomendo!
------------
One thing I couldn't figure out ... If the father of the heroine was a badass, how he didn't protect her from her ex-husband? He screwed the heroine and the family kept quiet! And her uncle also did nothing!!
But I love the series, I really enjoyed reading and recommend!

I love the KPD-Swat series and have really liked every single one. Unfortunately for me Charlie Foxtrot just didn't hit the standard of the other books. I was really expecting to see more from Foster's recovery side of things, but it was good to see him as a strong person for Blake to lean on during the hell she has to go through.

There are some definite sad parts during the book which i did well up at, as well at the humor you know you will experience through the Spurlock brothers.

All in all a good continuation of the series - i just felt like it was lacking something.

Blake Rhodes is 25 years old and newly divorced from her cheating, controlling high school sweetheart and ex-husband, David. She is moving on from her former life as a stay at home wife to a Kilgore police officer, who, as it turned out, had another wife in his life, a ‘beat wife’ of more than two and a half years. Thanks to her uncle, the Chief of the Kilgore Police Department, Blake has job as the KPD’s newest police dispatcher.

“I wanted to be me, not Chief Rhodes’ niece”

With the settlement from her divorce, she was able to buy her own home, which is unfortunately a few blocks away from the house she and David shared, the one he promptly moved his pregnant beat wife into upon Blake’s departure. She’s starting over in every way, considering how David’s controlling, less than fun, and unpleasant nature scared off all of Blake’s friends, leaving her only with David’s friends, who went with him in the divorce. She’s lonely, and what she really needs right now, is a friend.

”Maybe I was meant to be alone. Maybe, just maybe, there was no one out there for me.”

Foster Lager Spurlock is a different man than he once was. He’s angrier, full of rage and volatile emotions following the incident that caused him to lose of half of his leg. He no longer feels like a whole man, and the nickname his co-workers have given him – Crush – is not helping matters either. He meets Blake, and for the first time in months, he’s got something to smile about.

“Everything, and I do mean everything, was different now that I was missing a piece of myself.”

Blake is crushing hard on Foster; she thinks he is positively magnificent, but there is no way that he’d be interested in her. Foster is very attracted to Blake as well, but he’s fighting it; he’s just not ready to let anyone in yet. Slowly, however, Blake manages to chip away at his walls, and Foster finds that he likes it. With her goofy jokes, subtle flirting, and her easy-going, straight-shooting personality, the natural beauty was burrowing in deep, and Foster never stood a chance. Blake was the only person in Foster’s life who treated him like he was normal, and it was a breath of fresh air.

“I was just Foster to her, and I liked that. A lot.”

Blake’s life is upended, once again, when her home is broken into – twice – and then is the target of a dry-by shooting. Foster has had enough of Blake being used as target practice, and he’s decided that Blake is his – yes, he just made the decision, informed Blake and basically told her that she was just going to have to get on board with his plan. Following the dry-by shooting that left her house in need of repairs, Foster moves Blake and Boris, her talking Macaw, into his apartment. Boris the bird has a big mouth. He’s very chatty, and while what comes out of it is hilarious, his timing often sucks.

All of these incidents involving Blake add up to tragedy for the Rhodes family and the law enforcement community in the form of a devastating loss. Blake is positively heartbroken, but Foster is right there to keep her going forward. As the leads begin to point in one direction, will a connection to Blake’s past be at the root of all of this evil?

I loved Blake, and she was perfect for him, and Foster was perfect for her. Together, they were everything you’ve come to hope for in a LLV couple – they were hilarious in their back-and-forth banter, they were sexy and they fell for each other hard and completely. She brings him peace, love, happiness and normalcy. He fulfills her dreams of love, family, companionship, safety and loyalty.

“He doesn’t care that the woman he loves is the daughter of Shank Rhodes. He cares that you’re happy, and you’re you.”

I was so excited for Foster’s story, but I’ll admit to being a teensy bit apprehensive after I read the blurb and discovered how angry he had become. That just wasn’t the Foster I’d been introduced to or was expecting. I shouldn’t have worried though; this is Lani Lynn Vale, after all. She gave so much to her readers in this book. A realistic portrayal of Foster’s reaction to his injury and the adjustments he’s had to make in his life following it. A fantastic build up of Foster and Blake’s relationship that was ripe with Vale’s trademark blend of steam and humor. And an interesting plot that had me turning the pages in anticipation. Of course, no LLV novel would be complete without those witty little bits of hilarity with which she kicks off each chapter. It’s all there, delivered hugely by Vale in yet another well-written and richly developed book.

So, it’s another fabulous book down for the immensely talented Lani Lynn Vale, and it’s another book that she totally nailed. Love this author, love this series! #FanGirlForLife

Lani Lynn Vale creates such kickass heroes and heroines - characters willing to fight like hell through anything that comes their way because that’s how they’re made…that’s who they are at their core, which is a good thing because Vale sure provides her characters with a shitstorm of chaos and drama, forcing them to keep themselves in check and get things done in order to remain safe and protect those they love as well.

Another aspect of Vale’s Code 11-KPD Swat series is the camaraderie between the guys on SWAT and how they have each other’s back regardless of the situation, which is exactly what Foster and Blake need when their lives become dangerous and deadly in Charlie Foxtrot.

Foster’s a hard man to be around right now, and no one can blame him; he’s learning how to live and work without part of one of his legs, and while he seems to be getting the hang of everything, it’s not doing much for his attitude. But then Blake enters his life bringing her own strong willed demeanor, unconcerned with Foster’s disability and ready to give hell to the man harassing her grandfather.

Everything moves quickly in Charlie Foxtrot - Foster’s claiming of Blake, the drama that impacts their lives, and the heartache that they have to endure when complications arise. Lori Lynn Vale doesn’t drag anything out in stories, which works to her advantage because the action pulls readers in right from the start and the angst, steam, and danger keep them captivated until Vale reveals all and brings it to a head at the end of the text.

Foster and Blake are great characters determined to work through their respective issues and make a go at their new life the best they can. Their banter and connection is easy and their bodies definitely go together with ease.

Another aspect of the story that works well is Blake’s relationship with her father; it’s absolutely amazing, and I love how Vale showcases their connection throughout the text.

I love Vale’s SWAT men, and I can’t wait for Michael’s story!

5 Bullet Proof Vests

I absolutely, without a doubt loved this book. Charlie Foxtrot is book 5 of the Code 11- KPD SWAT series, with two more books in the works. Unfortunately I have not read the four previous book, but if they are anything like Charlie Foxtrot, I have to go get them. Charlie Foxtrot can be read as a stand alone book. To tell you the truth, I could not tell by reading it that this was part of a series. No cliffhangers, and no wondering what you missed.
Charlie Foxtrot is full of danger, sexual tension and lots of comic relief. Foster and his brother Miller are named after beer. Blake was named after her grandmother’s dog. I found this fact too cute not to mention. If you want the backstory, get the book. Foster, meets Blake at the police station when she accuses Foster of giving her grandfather a ticket without justification. Blake’s grandfather can only be compared to Grandma Mazur from the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich. They are both characters that add so much to the story.
Everyone can tell that there is a connection between Blake and Foster including her Ex-Husband who is also on the job, and let me tell you that Ex David is not happy. Blake’s dad is a State Trooper, with the reputation that demands respect from everyone, including his brother who is the Chief of Police.
When danger enters Blake’s life, we learn just how fierce the men around her can become to protect her.
If you like Janet Evanovich’s Stephanie Plum series, you will definitely enjoy this book.

4.5 star

The story has laughs, pain, murder, secrets, suspense, love, and heartbreak.

If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first
Center Mass (Code 11-KPD Swat)
Double Tap (Code 11- KPD SWAT #2)
Bang Switch (Code 11-KPD Swat #3)
Execution Style (Code 11-KPD Swat #4)

This is Blake and Foster’s story. After a horrific ordeal that caused Foster to lose part of his leg he turned into an angry bear. Blake was betrayed by her ex-husband a police officer and does not trust men. When she meets Foster she is attracted but he is moody and she is done with police officers. Foster wants Blake but he can resist her right? When Foster and Blake are thrown together after her house is broken into and shot up he takes her in and decides she is his. Now he just has to convince her of that fact. When danger comes for her at every turn will they be able to figure out who is behind the events and what they are after before it’s too late? Lives will be lost and hearts will be broken. In the end will Foster and Blake both get what they are after each other?

I loved these characters and also the side characters. I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I highly recommend this book and can’t wait for the next story from this author.

These Spurlock men have been absolutely divine!!
Foster was one of my fave's
He didn't let the cards he was dealt hold him down.. No W'oh is me from Foster!!
He got back into the game and came back better and stronger!!
A teeny bit jaded but nothing that deterred Blake..

Blake was what Foster needed in his life she was spunky, motivated, optimistic
and had tons of Love.. She didn't let her previous marriage affect her in anyway and had a great rock to lean on with her father, uncle & gramps..

Lani Lynn Vale definitely nailed it for me with this one..
Every single little thing I have raved about in her books was front and center..
I balled my freaking eyes out and then laughed through out!!
You know it's a good read when all these feels are brought out..

This year I've read every one of Lani Lynn Vale's books - and let me just say - that I am TOTALLY hooked on her writing style. I'm even about ready to start doing some re-reads of her books.

Her stories have yet to disappoint me, because they always have everything I love the most in my reading. This includes a hot, sexy alpha man - a strong heroine, with a great personality - humor - some smoking sex scenes - a story that holds my interest the entire book - great friends and families - and of course, a hea.

So that's what I got with this book and more - I also had an emotional moment a time or two, and things that touched my heart and made me cry. Seriously, if you haven't given her books a try, you are definitely missing out on some great reads!

This is the 2nd book in this series I have read. You can read these out of order so feel free to start with this one! I wasn't as crazy about Execution Style so I was less than excited to read this book. I'm glad I gave it a shot though!! Blake is a likable character-you feel her hurt and it doesn't come off as overly whiny or 'oh poor me'. And Foster is great too! He is dealing with the trauma of his war wounds and trying to get his life back. Its all very believable. The book moves at a quick pace and I read it all in one sitting. You do get to see some of the characters from the previous books but only because they are on the SWAT team so it won't affect your understanding at all. If you like romantic suspense, this is the perfect book to read!

French & English reviews

NO WAY !

Enfin, encore une romance parfaite pour les baisses de moral et le manque de vacances =)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Another romance full of drama, humor (I loved the reaction linked to the identity of Blake's father xD) and sex =)
I particularly liked the whole drama with his ex (I love evil exes xD)
Only one reproach, the behavior of her mother towards her ex ... NO WAY !
Anyway, another perfect romance for hard days =)
Book 5 in the Code 11 - KPD Swat series.
This book deserves more than 5 stars. I didn't want it to end. The best book I have read all year!!!!!
Foster and Blake have a lot to go though to get together in this book.
There are moments that make you laugh out loud (one crazy loud bird), and a section that made me cry.
Start the series and work your way up to this one. You won't be sorry.
So as I always state, I enjoy this author’s books, but for some reason I feel she brings up characters and situation that she goes nowhere with. For example Alice, there could have been more to that story but it was a dead end. Then her mother, what exactly was her issue with Blake and her father ? If you write these characters in, must be a reason, finish it! So frustrating!
