DNF'd The Hitchcock Hotel by Stephanie Wrobel for being incredibly boring. Great cover but nothing inside worth investing time in."

I almost bought that one last week. Sadly, the one I did wasn't at all what I was hoping for, either...

You'll have to share your thoughts on this one! I read and loved The Only Good Indians but have heard mixed reviews on I Was a Teenage Slasher.

Bummer. :(
I usually don't advise avoiding a book but this Hitchcock one has plenty of bad reviews from people who felt like I did. It just didn't live up to the description. But if you can get a copy from a library so you don't waste book money on it, give it a try. Everyone likes something different.

For what it's worth, his Indian Lake Trilogy -- starting with My Heart is a Chainsaw -- is very good.

Nick Mason | 9 comments Right now I’m reading “Summer of Night” by Dan Simmons. It’s somewhat of a slow-burn, but I’m to point where more stuff is starting to happen. I will say it does a great job forming a sense of dread. I can’t wait to see where the rest of it goes.

I just started this too! Liking it so far.

I'm also reading The Last House on Needless Street The Last House on Needless Street by Catriona Ward which is pretty interesting in the way it gradually reveals more information from the perspective of a possible serial killer, his cat, and the women who believes he abducted her sister years ago.

Recently finished Our Wives Under the Sea Our Wives Under the Sea by Julia Armfield - less creepy and more heartbreaking - and Where the Dead Wait Where the Dead Wait by Ally Wilkes which was great, I love polar gothic horror.

The Casebook of Victor Frankenstein
I don’t understand why this book was written—it’s just “Frankenstein” with some real-world characters jumbled in. If you’ve read Mary Shelley’s original, there is no reason to read this.

Right now I'm trying to read Fairy Tale by Stephen King and I'm less than impressed. This may very well be the last book by King I try to read as so many of his recent books have been incredibly disappointing to the point where I haven't even bothered to finish them.

To review a different edition, when you're on the page of the book with your review, you should be under the section "Ratings & Reviews". On the right side should be an arrow, which will let you select a different edition. You then click the the "review" button for that edition. (I believe. It's been awhile since I did this, but I know it works something like that.)

Did you try this? GR actually explains it a little clearer than I was able. If you did try this and couldn't get it to work, I'd suggest messaging GR help. (You might also try using a different browser or device.)
