I’m on a permanent mission to find a copy of The Witching Hour for a decent price! (I’ve limited funds! 😅) Let the Right One In is a phenomenal story, if you like your vampire tales weird, this will do! I’d say it is one of THE WEIRDEST I’ve ever read! I loved it! Enjoy!

I don't know if you're a member of PaperbackSwap or not, but that's where I listed my copy. There is a wait list for the book but I think it's only 8 people deep. For a while there were a lot of copies available but they all got grabbed up once the show started.

I just finished reading The Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires. I did not enjoy it. I think the next book I'm going to get is The September House. Has some good reviews so want to try it out.

I finished Dead Silence and while I enjoyed the book, the ending was a bit disappointing. I think it would be worth checking out, if you are interested in it, you may feel differently about how it all came together then I did.

I read half of this and stopped because I was so bored but I've wanted to pick it back up and just finish it! I love a good witchy story and the show looks so good.

I read it in pieces while reading other books. I don't think I could have powered through it all at once. Rice can just be a little too "extra" (as my daughter would say) at times.

I'm about 50 pages in and I agree. I also saw the movie - both of them I think - and while I don't remember much besides a few pieces, more of it is coming back as I read.

I’m reading a lot currently but I just started “On the Farm”. By Stevie Cameron. It’s a true crime book which depicts the true story/murders by serial killer Willie “Piggy” Pickton.

In the author's note, Cañas features a quote from Cheno Cortina, a paramilitary leader who defended the Mexican border against white settlers during the Texas Revolution. He used the word "vampires" to describe the invading force, and that is where Cañas got her next book idea. Obviously, the vampires in this book are supposed to be an allegory for the Yanquis. Key words: supposed to. The plot choice Cañas chose completely nips that in the bud to the point that the inclusion of the vampires, are first of all sparse, and second, irrelevant.

Just started The Brain Leeches and Other Eldritch Phenomena by Tim Curran. I’ve never read Mr. Curran; I love Lovecraftian fiction but I confess it was the title that pulled me in on this one.

uh, depending on if you hate rockefeller or not, this could be a horrific topic/book LOL

Colossal effort and care was put into chronicling this colossus of American industry, an engaging and insightful read that reveals the man behind the curtain. Chernow neither villainizes nor sanitizes Rockefeller's character or ascent to supremacy in the oil business, through the author's expert guidance, we clearly see the building blocks to his success, whether it be the circumstances of his childhood that propelled him away from what he was escaping, or his natural traits and Puritan work ethic that drove him towards wanting and acquiring more and more.
