Did you have a favorite book this month?
Fourth Wing was my favorite. "Romantasy" is my guilty pleasure. Also I refuse to say "romantasy" without ironic quotes.
Do you have a favorite tree or tree-related memory?
There was a tree at the park a block away from my house growing up. My dad and I would walk to the park and he would juggle under this tree while I sat and read or explored. We called it the Juggling Tree. It has since been cut down. If I had a little more artistic talent, I'd try to paint the scene just to have it.

βIt is not so much for its beauty that the forest makes a claim upon menβs hearts, as for that subtle something, that quality of air that emanation from old trees, that so wonderfully changes and renews a weary spirit.β
β Robert Louis Stevenson
What better way to mark the passing of seasons but with the changing of trees? Will you have a mighty Yggdrasil with all your branches connected to one giant trunk? Or an Amazon Rainforest with lots of different trees of every variety?
Instructions:
1. Choose a book that will be the trunk of your tree. This can be a book you read this year, or an old favorite.
2. Read books that somehow relate to your trunk for the branches of your tree. You should have at least 5 branches for each tree.
3. (Optional) Each branch may also have unlimited leaves, where books relate the branch book instead of the trunk book.
Connections include but are not limited to:
-same author
-same genre
-same publication or setting year
-same subject matter
-part of the same series or collection
-both made into movie/tv
-same format (play, epistolary, etc.)
-same color or type of cover
-same character names
-same setting
-recommended to you by the same person
-won the same award
-on the same listopia
-on the Goodreads section βreaders also enjoyedβ
Your tree should have at least 5 branches, but you can have as many as you want and you can have as many trees as you want. This challenge is very open. Have fun with it and get creative. For any of those artistically inclined, I would love to see visual renderings of your trees at the end of the year (this is of course not required).

I think my favorite book in January was Trust.
That sounds like a lovely tree-related memory! I am sorry the tree got cut down! What kind of tree was it? :)
We have this one apple tree at my parents place we would always climb while growing up (and I still sometimes climb up when I go there) - it is also the one with the best apples (in my opinion) - so I would say that one is my favorite. We also had a small tree house there when we were younger.
But it is hard to pick, because there is also a very old weeping willow in my university town - which I loved - and which would always lend a listening ear when I needed one.

Iβm enjoying the uniqueness of this challenge. Iβm glad I read the two books I read in January, but neither was a favorite.

I think it was some kind of pine maybe but I have no clue. I try to google it every once in a while and can never figure it out.

My family and I would go camping and there was this one tree that I would always climb and just spend all my time in. I always loved climbing trees.
