Ann (annrumsey) | 16925 comments Carol - I forgot we said we would definitely add the newest Peter Swanson, A Talent for Murder. The summer group reads are looking good!

Carol/Bonadie wrote: "Speaking of books coming out in 2024, I saw a post from Peter Swanson on IG that his latest, A Talent for Murder, is coming out in June. Any interest in putting that on the list? Sherry, who of course has already read it, says Lily Kintner puts in an appearance."

Carol/Bonadie (bonadie) | 9483 comments Thanks for keeping us organized, Ann. Breaking the Dark sounds right up my alley; they had me at "Luke Cage" and "S.A. Cosby"!!

Off to see if it's on order at any of my libraries.

Ann (annrumsey) | 16925 comments Now for an option to consider for July. This is from a different thread where we were discussing Breaking the Dark by Lisa Jewell.
Do we have others as well as this one to consider?
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

“Breaking the Dark, the first book in the brand-new Marvel Crime series, introduces fans to a grittier, street-level side of the Marvel Universe, and will continue with original novels featuring fan-favorite characters like Luke Cage, written by S.A. Cosby, and Daredevil, written by Alex Segura.”

Carol/Bonadie (bonadie) | 9483 comments Ann, I just attended an author event with Stuart Tupton being interviewed by Peter Swanson, and it was very entertaining. I haven't read any of his books but I think The 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle was a group read, correct? The new one, The Last Murder at the End of the World sounds intriguing. I wonder if anyone is interested in reading? If so we could add this to our upcoming group reads.

I already have on my TBR - so I'm in for doing it as a group read!

Carol/Bonadie (bonadie) | 9483 comments I heard on one of my podcasts that there will be a sequel to The Plot by Jean Hanff Korelitz coming out in October. It's called, appropriately enough, The Sequel.

We did The Plot as a Group Read a while ago and I can't imagine (view spoiler). Possible Group Read?

message 69: by GailW (new)

GailW (abbygg) | 520 comments I have The Plot but haven't read it yet. So I'll add it for september and then I'm game.

I’ll have to refresh my memory on The Plot. ;)

I remember a good deal of it but I'll definitely want to review, in whatever way I can, the last few chapters. I'm curious as to how she will pick up a sequel....

How about the first book in Richard Osman's new series, We Solve Murders

message 74: by Ann (new)

Carol/Bonadie (bonadie) | 9483 comments I wonder if anyone wants to read the next in the series by Annette Dashofy, the first of which we read earlier this year. We normally don't read series so as not to leave out people who have not read previous entries (and want to). When it was available on Kindle for $2.99 I bought it. It's called Keep Your Family Close and is billed as "a Detective Honeywell mystery."

message 79: by GailW (new)

GailW (abbygg) | 520 comments I'd love to. I bought it then as well. It's on my list for 2025 but I have 100 different ways to replace it, so I'm good!

message 80: by Ann (new)

Ann (annrumsey) | 16925 comments Carol and Gail, I am also on board for reading book two from Annette Dashify: Keep Your Family Close as a group read. I must have bought it for Kindle too, it’s in my library. Surely I can get my print TBR 📚📚📚under control enough to get to it in December. 😀

message 81: by Ann (new)

Ann (annrumsey) | 16925 comments I added the December 2024 entry for Keep Your Family Close! this is a foillow-up to May's group read of Where the Guilty Hide.
Another late 2024 or early 2025 book suggestion could be Alter Ego by Alex Segura. This is a continuation of the Marvel universe books started with our Aug-2024 Group Read of Lisa Jewell's Breaking the Dark.
