Grace (Calcat) I am no help I hated the first Vampires in America and Midnight Breed books ( felt like bad BDB rip roff) I have only read the first Robyn Peterman. I say go with Hell on Heels (Hot Damned #3) by Robyn Peterman and save Under the Final Moon (Underworld Detection Agency, #6) by Hannah Jayne for Sunday as no matter what we roll it will have a 6 in it.

I found this series by accident and I am really enjoying it. The main characters are strong and the secondary characters, from the hero’s father to the CIA agent to high school sweetheart to the ex were also interesting and brought a lot to the storyline. But most of all I loved the suspense. It is a page turner, the complexity of the plot, there was always something new happening. I can not wait to buy book three.

This is just a quick review as my schedule is about to go insane for the next couple of days and really I should already be asleep.

This story was ok. I liked the emphasis on the big cats and Aseem was so adorable. But the story was really a whole heap of insta-love fluff. There's no real dramatic impact, nothing to work against. These two meet, get together on one date that immediately leads to them in bed together, and they're quitting jobs and moving in with each other the next day.

I liked the characters well enough, but this was over quickly for me and I really didn't mind.

Read Heart of Venom (Elemental Assassin, #9) by Jennifer Estep book 9 in Elemental Assassin series
Rating★★★★
Finished 9th May 2015

Another great instalment in the series. Yes these are a bit samey and formulaic but they still grab my attention.

This time Gin has to rescue Sophia from the same who took her years. Fletcher saved her that time and this time it is up to Gin and she has to finish the job Fletcher started.

I like the flashbacks to young Gin in the boos, this one was about Sophia and showed the start of their friendship and mutual respect for each other.

Gin's relationship with Owen is still strained but he comes through to help her here.

The mysterious MM Monroe may be getting ready to show themselves soon so I will be moving on to the next book.

Well I guess this is the last one? The buildup was long and then the ending was over in less than 10 pages. I'm a little confused lol. While some things were wrapped up there's still something missing that keeps it from feeling final. I was glad to have Nina more of a presence in this one than the last book. I've enjoyed the ride when you're in a mood for a quirky read. I've kind of gone through all of my quirky series now...I'll have to find a new one or two!

I don't even know what to write....this book had a magnitude of good ratings, but for me, it was not a good book at all. It was hard to get into the book, the writing was not that great, the characters where blah, all the unfortunate events that happened where the characters own fault due to bad choices. It was just a waste of time, a mindless read, by the end of the book I was so upset with myself for not giving up in the beginning....I just knew it was not going to be my kind of book.

Couple Reed and Keith find Shane on their door step on a stormy Christmas Eve. They take care of the former soldier and slowly the three begin to trust each other. Shane's past catches up with them but they all pull together to deal with it.

I loved seeing Prophet in this one, snarky and adorable as ever.

Another great instalment in this series, I am not usually a huge fan of Ménage but I do like these three together.

Bound for Keeps (Men of Honor, #5) by S.E. Jakes

This falls into my happy, horny, enjoyable pile. :D There's a really nice erotic edge to this story without tipping over into their being all erotica and no story. I appreciate this story as a menage that works too. Things weren't perfect smooth sailing with these three, but it was more believable for the few bumps in the road.

Keith Masters and Johnny Lou Reed have been through buckets of things together. They've been together as a couple for 8 years, and they've been through the death of their third two years before. Both men had served in the military and now enjoy their work as mercenaries getting to do a bit of good around the globe. They've had their hardships and troubles, but are the stronger together. When Shane enters there life sick as a dog and near death on a cold and snowy night there's no way he could be that perfect third to fit back into their life, especially with all his secrets, right?

I liked that this story didn't have the three men pouring out all their secrets to each other in one fell swoop. There was a time for them to get to know each other and time to learn to trust. For three men all trained up through some of the most secretive branches of our military forces/government all out initial trust wouldn't have been believable. The instant attraction and yearning sure, but there were mental blocks to be overcome before they could really go there.

I liked Keith and Reed's dynamic from the start and Shane slides right in in his ability to be what both men need. He compliments there natural dom/sub relationship by being the strength for both men. While he still submits to Keith most of the time, he is a dom by nature and has that strength both for Reed when he needs it, but he also gives Keith a place he can let down on the rare occasion he needs to let go.

The military/mercenary aspects of this story are a lesser plot line, but highlight the changes in these men as they get to know each other. They give opportunities for each of them to be alone with the others as Shane recovers from his injuries and illness. As his strength returns it was nice to see the insecurities appearing for Reed and Keith too as they all found a balance as a triad. While Shane's past was an issue I appreciated that it didn't take over the story, but instead allowed for both Shane and Reed to find some closure over their tortured pasts and gave both men an opportunity to move on with a few less nightmares.

While this book isn't a heavy BDSM novel at all the elements that are used here make sense and add to the dynamic these three men share. It's a very enjoyable story, definitely with it's hot erotic moments, but also with a nice sense of love and caring as these three find themselves together.

I of course love seeing Prophet and his brief appearance in this story, but then again the more hot competent military types in one place the better. ;) All in all an enjoyable read.

Wild From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail by Cheryl Strayed
Rating★★ 1/2
Finished 15th May 2015

I picked this to read as I was intrigued by Cheryl's story and it fitted a few challenges. I found this book to be at times both interesting and mind numbingly boring.

I found her tales of the trail and the characters she met a lot more interesting than her past and reasons for doing. She picked an interesting way to start back packing with her monster pack and wrong sized boots. I also could have done without the history of the PCT. I respect Cheryl for undertaking such a gruelling experience. A reasonable read but not a great one and I have desire to see the movie.

Oh how I wish I could give this 10 stars!!!!! I've always like Than but now I looooove him and want a Death of my own! By far the best in the series and this book got under my skin. It's a sign of a good book when you're not reading and it's ALL you can think about! I can't imagine how Reseph's book is gonna go down after the events in this one. I was shocked at the history of the vamps...totally didn't see that coming. Speaking of vamps, Wraith's parts in the book were awesome! Makes me want to reread his book. Poor Reaver too...not sure how that'll play out either. An amazing book no doubt and Death is officially on the top 5 BB list now!

Eleanor the Queen by Norah Lofts

I love Eleanor of Aquitaine, Henry II, Richard the Lionhearted, King John (Lackland) and the Plantagenet intrigues and accomplishments of the 12th century. The author really engages the reader in making Eleanor a real woman: a woman both vulnerable and truly strong, she was both. I recommend this book wholeheartedly for those who might like to get a feel for what medieval life.

Nine-Tenths of the Law by L.A. Witt
Nine-Tenths of the Law by L.A. Witt

Read: 5/17

Rating: ★★★★

I like this story simply because of the premise, but then since I enjoy L.A. Witt's writing style it holds it's own. These two guys have a rough start to things, but are learning that each other is all they'll ever need.

Zack Owens has been dating his boyfriend Jake for about 6 months and always looks forward to the nights they can get together. Having Jake's four year relationship slip into the seat beside him is the last thing Zack ever expected. All he can do is track after the man and apologize for the hurt he invariably caused without ever knowing. But one conversation with Nathan and a night of angry retribution sex and Zack can't get the man out of his head.

I actually really enjoyed the idea that these two men have been hurt by their mutual interest and instead find something stronger with each other. I appreciated that as much as the feelings that developed between them happened quickly and packed a punch it didn't make their relationship easy. Nathan especially has a lot of trust issues and they definitely reared their ugly head. Of course Jake stepping in and trying to cause havoc between them doesn't help. It was just such an interesting way for these two to meet and find out they had more than just their similar taste in men.

The backdrop of Zach's work at his independent theater was fun too. It was a different setting and I giggled each time he had to deal with his temperamental projector. I kept waiting for him to start throwing things. ;)

All in all this one was fun and a little sweet. It's kept simple without a lot of extraneous pieces to distract from the story of these two men figuring out how to trust again and allowing them to find that the perfect man is the one you find in the strangest of places.
