Task 4 - 9. Each player reads a book in the same series, teams decide. No pass for this task.

As a team, select a series listed on GR and everyone reads a book in that series. (Does not have to be a numbered series.) Please include the selected series in your completion posts. Teammates can read the same or different books for this task. No pass for this task.

Rating/Review ⭐⭐⭐⭐ I have enjoyed this small town Ireland series about contemporary witches, I consider it very lightly paranormal. In this book, #6 in the series, a young woman comes to terms with having healing power while dealing with a derelict dad, loving mum and the jealousy of small town rivals; while dabbling in romance. Available on a few libraries Libby catalogues, and 6 of series 12+ audiobooks are on ScribD

Lea, I typed a nice reply and of course goodreads didn’t work, but yes I get it. However I am enjoying the more relaxed pace right now to catch up on my library books from India. This challenge will always be a task every other day but the tasks get harder, more books and pages as it goes on. The key to winning is consistency from the team. If you get behind there is no recovering. I think there are 5-7 teams on pace with us right now. The good news is Sex in the City will be starting soon that will be a task oriented challenge like the Big Bang was last year. I really like Laura’s challenges! I saw she was setting up all the threads for it yesterday. If you are interested Tower X is starting soon, sign ups are going on. I haven’t played before but it seems to me to be a number of books per month with a task oriented challenge thrown in on the second half of the month, it runs for 3 months I think. Here is the link to the group https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/...

Benita if you want to join, I think you would need to be your own separate team! As it ONLY 233 books per month!

I have multiple challenges on the go so I quite like the relaxed pace of the early tasks.

The last task Kat sets, I think from the 2nd June onwards, will be the same for every team. There's usually a tie breaker element for the teams who haven't missed a call with the team reading the most (books or pages) winning.

Book: Breaking Silence by Linda Castillo
How Qualifies: Pub. June 21, 2011
Pages: 320

Review: ⭐⭐⭐⭐.5. #3 of the very popular
Kate Burkholder series (20+ books and counting), a police homicide procedural series set in Amish small town culture. This one, with many twists, follows the investigation of several members of an Amish farm family in a hog confinement barn. I think Castillo is one of the most popular murder writers because of her powerful use of descriptive adjectives deployed while keeping the plot moving swiftly.
