Barbara (cinnabarb) | 9972 comments Love in the Time of Bertie Love in the Time of Bertie (44 Scotland Street, #15) by Alexander McCall Smith by Alexander McCall Smith

This humorous series follows the lives of a group of people who reside in Edinburgh's "New Town" neighborhood. The characters and situations are fun, especially the children.

Good book for a chuckle. 3.5 stars

Damo | 161 comments Just finished Mercy (Atlee Pine, #4) by David Baldacci - Mercy by David Baldacci

This is the 4th and final book in the Atlee Pine and brings the long search for her sister, Mercy, to a conclusion. In true Baldacci style this is a fact-paced thriller but it doesn't quite hit the heights of the previous book in the series.

Araych | 676 comments He Done Her Wrong He Done Her Wrong (Toby Peters, #8) by Stuart M. Kaminsky by Stuart Kaminsky

Toby Peters #8. April 1942. Someone has stolen Mae West's newly-written autobiography and Toby has the job of retrieving it. I love this series but this is the slowest and weakest entry so far. There's very little Mae in the story and Kaminsky wastes 30 pages keeping Toby locked in an insane asylum. 2 stars.

James Best (jamesbest) | 299 comments Now starting LYING BESIDE YOU by Michael Robotham. This is the third novel in the series featuring forensic psychologist Cyrus Haven and the girl-with-no-past Evie Cormac. The first two novels in the series were terrific, so I am hoping this one continues that trend.

Damo | 161 comments City of Dreams (City #2) by Don Winslow The second book in the Danny Ryan trilogy is very much a transitional story that takes us from the gang wars in Providence to the West Coast and life as a fugitive. I gave it 4 stars but I'm expecting it to lead to bigger things in book 3.
