All books read here can be used for any of my other (multiple) challenges.I will list all books , this year they do not HAVE to fit this challenge as it is not the main priority (which is to reduce ONR print pile and complete ATW80 books)
Have some prompts left over from 2022 challange - will initially double up but if I read enough books will read a seperate book for each prompt.
Not reading in order.

Most books read will have four or more colours on the cover so I'm not listing them all. Will read a Discworld book and list them here
A Note on Discworld cover Art: All titles have editions with colourful covers . namely the covers of Josh Kirby up to Thief of Time , and Paul Kidby from The Last Hero onwards. A set of new editions from 2022 are designed by Leo Nicholls and tend to have fewer colours, but still at least four. There are some editions that aren't colourful (eg the mostly black Corgi editions from the early 2000's)
Discworld editions read :
♻️The Fifth Elephant ( various /dominant colours are orange/blue/white/greige) (Josh Kirby edition)

✅The Truth ( the Leo Nicholls edition listened to this time mainly black/white with purple green blue pink.)

Death Comes as the End
There is a path on this (gorgeous) cover but this isn't my copy

The House in the Cerulean Sea
There is a road but I just wanted an excuse to put this cover up again

One Good Turn
Some covers have a road , as here, some an alley etc. Mine had a bird!

🚫The Reading List

I prefer to use a person shown without a face, rather than the face being not visible due to back being turned etc
Will use :

✅Nemesis( not my cover)
Read ( haven't necessarily read the edition pictured that has the faceless person)

Listopia : https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/1...
This states 'character' and I have stretched that a bit(lot) to fit the book I wanted to read which turned out to have no actual character that was a Taylor ( though it does have ex soldiers) I will try to fit in another book with a Taylor.
Additional read 🚫 ( not used anywhere else) fits for 'Spy'
Another additional read fits even better for 'Taylor'
Possibles
♻️The Hundred-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out of the Window and Disappeared(spy for a while)
♻️The Fifth Elephant Waldo Sleeps and Inigo Skimmer are sort of spy's
♻️Henry V, War Criminal? and Other Shakespeare Puzzles( several characters in the plays discussed are soldiers , possible other job titles too)
♻️White Teeth ( character job is to sew clothes )
♻️The Man Who Died Twice (spies/agents )
♻️Burial of Ghosts (ex soldier)
✅The Nine Tailors ( the title doesn't refer to a person , but there is a person who calls themselves 'Taylor' and, set in the -1930s most of the male characters have been soldiers in WWI, including one where it is plot point. )
♻️Death and the Dancing Footman two characters are soldiers ( set early WW2)
♻️One Good Turn Jackson Brodie is ex Militarty as is a hit man ( if he's being truthful )
♻️Maisie Dobbs soldiers
🚫Gallows View spy (peeper)
🚫The Zig Zag Girl Spy ( 'real ' one during war time and major plot point)
🚫The Christmas Murder Game main character is a dressmaker ( actually the best for for this prompt of any of the books )

♻️The Seven Moons of Maali Almeida
✅A Meditation on Murder
🚫The Killing of Polly Carter

I'm going to include Scandinavia as it is connected by land and I probably want to use a book by a Sweedish author here. But I hope to read several books by authors form 'true' continental Europe too.that I will use for other prompts
Probably :
✅The Dogs of Riga Author Henning Mankell from Sweeden
Read that fit
♻️The Hundred-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out of the Window and Disappeared Jonas Jonasson (Sweeden)
♻️The Metamorphosis Franz Kafka (Czech Republic/Bohemia)
♻️Drive Your Plow Over the Bones of the Dead ( Poland)
♻️The Rabbit Factor Antti Tuomainen (Finland )
♻️End of Summer Anders de la Motte (Sweden)
♻️Nemesis Jo Nesbø Norway
♻️The Boy in the Suitcase Agnete Friis Lene Kaaberbol DenmRk

This is subjective and I can't be bothered to decide if later books rad are 'dark' , these are some earlier ones that possibly are
✅The Hundred-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out of the Window and Disappeared ( dark humour - eg an elephant accidentally kills someone by sitting on them)
♻️The Metamorphosis ( does a man turning into an insect count as dark ? )
Killing the Shadows tartan noir ?
♻️The Seven Moons of Maali Almeida narrated by a corpse amongst other things
Nemesis Nordic noir

♻️Murder After Christmas (Murder is treated very lightly by most characters )
✅The Flat Share ( romance )
