Ah... well crackers in bed... the crumbs!! But other than that... well I do have to admit that I do have a bit of a thing for Timothy Dalton in "Licence to Kill" hehe. In truth though, I just don't like Lazenby and I'm not much of a Roger Moore fan. The others though.. ;-)
The books, like Sammy already said, are fun!

"Casino Royale" is probably my favourite for some reason.
And I really like "Licence to Kill".
I watched them all again last year with a friend who had never seen them. One per week, and then off to cinema for the latest one. :-)

That movie terrified me as a child. It is up there with "All Dogs go to Heaven" as deeply scarring.

I've never actually seen it! The only watchable things I was scared of as a kid were The Darkness from The Never-ending Story and the Daleks :D

📕 Favourite genres: Sci fi and fantasy
📕 Book you can't wait to read in 2023: The way of kings from Brandon Sanderson. Bought the book already but wil start reading it in februari.

I've read 1 Ian Fleming (Dr. No) and in my view it was a poor 'procedural'. I made a mental note not to read others.
Sean Connery is my favorite bond...I'd eat crackers with any of the actors though.

My favourite JB movie was The World is not enough

crying....

I'm Denise in California. I just recently finished my bachelor's degree after many years away from school. I plan on having time to read more now that I am not in school.
This is one of my favorite challenges and I'm excited to get started again.
This year, my goal is to reduce the number of books stacked by my bed. I plan on reading on paper more than I usually do, and I hope to pass books on before replacing them with new ones. Two books out before one comes in, I hope.
I look forward to getting to know you and working together.

If you can get over your aversion, Knives Out and Glass Onion are very fun movies.

I always knew you were a lady of good taste... :D

Glad you enjoyed it! I thought it was really nicely done in the way he was nice about all the other actors. It could have so easily become a "look at me I'm better than everyone" book instead.

Sean Connery was my favorite. I'm fine with Daniel Craig, but didn't like Pierce Brosnan as Bond.

I'll bear that in mind... Been a long time since I made myself watch anything with him in. (I honestly have no idea why, he just makes my skin crawl for some reason.)

You can answer all or pick 1 or only a few. :)

Mostly I read by mood and pretty much always in my spare time (or lunch break for that matter). My favorite genres would be Thriller, LGBTQ+ novels of any kind (often Young Adult), Fantasy, Classics every now and then, and I love mangas.
It's safe to say that Oscar Wilde is my favorite author and I'm looking forward to read Collins' Complete Works of Oscar Wilde this year and the new thriller of Erik Axl Sund.

I you end up giving Knives Out a try, remember that you will be able to see Chris Evans looking beautiful and acting like a complete jackass. Very fun.

When I first started the book I really disliked Scarlett, but as it went on I came to respect her, even though she was never actually likeable

LOL
love this early Sunday morning reading

📕 Been doing these challenges for roughly 3 years now!
📕 Yep! My first and favorite group challenge. I've co-captained and captained before too. UNO time is my favorite time of the year.
📕 Fantasy, sci-fi, mystery/thriller, horror (though I read everything those are my preferred)
📕 Can't wait to re-read Eragon and finally finish the Inheritance Cycle! I've been terrible about finishing the series. Only ever finish book one and stop.

📕 My comfort read
Any Harry Dresden book

📕 Team Challenge experience: I love team challenges and so far I have been on great teams.
📕 Have you joined UNO before? YES, UNO is my favorite team challenge and this will be my third year playing.
📕 Favourite genre: Romance. Mostly any sub-genre of romance but not a fan of historical romance. Love suspense and thrillers also.
📕 Book you can't wait to read in 2023: Free Me (WITSEC, #4)
by Ashley N. Rostek. Fell in love with this series in 2022.
SO excited for book UNO! I think my favorite part is that it's a challenge to find my next read. I love that I have to choose for the challenge and not just blindly plucking one off my TBR list.

📘 My earliest reading memory

📗 My favourite book growing up
See above. haha. The other was Wuthering Heights - same reason, it was a copy from my grandmother's collection. There was also a French book I loved but I can't remember the name of it
📒 The book that changed me as a teenager
Tricky! I actually don't know... I don't feel like I read a lot as a teenager
📕 The book I came back to

took me a year to finish it originally. Then I ended up reading it two more times over the years. Love it
📘The book I could never read again
So many...! haha

📗 The book I discovered later in life
All of our weighty tomes! Including GWTW as discussed above

Agatha Christie is an easy go to. Same with Phryne Fisher or Daisy Dalrymple!

Loved knifes out but couldn’t get into glass onion

📘 My earliest reading memory

Daisy Dalrymple is a great comfort read. It has been my go-to Uno book to fill in for book series. I'm kinda sad because I'm on book 9 this year so it will be the last one to count.
hello, i’m grey! this will be my first time playing uno, i’m very excited haha! i really like romance, ya, fantasy, and mystery. i don’t really have any books that i’m looking forward to, mostly just working on my tbr :)
sorry if i don’t read as much as a lot of other members, i am still in school so i don’t have much free time. hoping that i can still have fun though!

Pollyanna is one of those books I have not read as a child (a Hungarian translation was not available at that time), but I may try it one of these days.
I read Wuthering Heights and Jane Eyre at 13, I also came across them on my grandmother's shelf. :)

📘 My earliest reading memory

I honestly can't recall all the books I must've read once I learned reading but according to my mom and elementary school teacher I read all the time.
📗 My favourite book growing up

📒 The book that changed me as a teenager

I think maybe this. I vividly remember the subtle LGBTQ+ scenes were my favorite.
📕 The book I came back to

Recently gave it another try. It wasn't as awful as when I first read it but it won't ever be my favorite.
📘The book I could never read again

📗 The book I discovered later in life

My greatest discovery really.
📒The book I am currently reading

📕 My comfort read

📘 Favorite Fictional Relationship (Romantic or Otherwise)

I just love Magnus and Alec so much.
📗 A book(s) everyone (including friends) seems to love, but you ended up disliking (hating) it

I just don't feel the hype at all.
📒 A Book(s) You Feel Guilty About Liking
I don't think there is any reason to feel ever guilty about the books one likes (or even dislikes for that matter).
📕 Any books/authors that you feel you should really try, but have never got round to reading yet
It's more like I feel the need to read a few more classics and thus some authors would be on the list as well. Like more works of Shakespeare, Jane Austen, the sisters Bronte and the Mann family.

Das Doppelte Lottchen was a favourite book of mine growing up (alongside Emil und die Detektive) and I still love them. :)
I recently read Emil to my 8-year-old son and he loved it too. :)

To this day remains one of the very few books I've actually read in German. And since I've not spoken/read German for a couple of decades now, it will probably stay that way, lol!

Ah that's awesome!
Das Doppelte Lottchen had a few well done German TV adaptations as well that I enjoyed watching. But Erich Kästner had a hand for childrens' books no matter how you look at it. :-)
He was also the one who said: "Nur wer erwachsen wird und Kind bleibt, ist ein Mensch." Not a bad motto to have actually!

I've never read it but I remember that I was scared shitless with the movie o.O
Loved "All Dogs go to Heaven" though! (Mentioned as a scarring movie above.) Cried my eyes out every time but loved it.

Kästner just knew how to write about children to children.
Even as an adult I find his style and attitude very refreshing and I am so glad my son also enjoyed Emil. :)
I think we will soon start reading Das Doppelte Lottchen together as well. Very conveniently my edition has a yellow cover ;), but it contains the original drawings which I love.
