For those who haven't yet realised or missed the message above, Team Platypus is open!
So please come say hello :-)
now that i need to up my reading pace once uno starts.. does anyone know of an alternative to z-library? now that its down i dont know what to use, and my pile of unread books on kindle are slowly dwindling!
I use Overdrive (I think it’s called Libby now) but it connects to your local library card and you can check out book electronically.
NOTE TO PLAYERS ALREADY ASSIGNED TO TEAMS!All Teams have been set up and the threads are open. Captains have sent friend requests to all their team members or sent PMs to them.
You have until 25 January to check in to your team threads. (checking in here doesn't count)
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/...
Players who do not check-in by the deadline will be replaced.
Hello all,I didn't realize that signing up for UNO this year is over already. I would love to play again if you're still accepting late comers. I've been playing for a few years and would love to play this year as well.
Best regards to all.

It's an online library where you can borrow older books to read.

Exactly so.. 🤣 Next year's Uno teams.. Killer Animals of Oz!
Hehe, they could certainly name a team or 500...I've got to wonder though... With just about every native creature already wanting to kill you, why did you Aussies feel the need to go and invent more? (I do get it, the whole thing is hilarious! But it's almost as funny that there really is no need, and just about any real animal would have also worked pretty well, lol)

That was what was so funny when melindam started to find weird creatures and I’d actually seen / heard of most of them as they were Australian haha
I think drop bears are just like… we accept we have lots of killer animals so let’s create one so we can actually laugh about it rather than being worried about one that will actually kill you 😆😆

I reckon it started as a joke to play on tourists and it's still working.

Sadness!! I told this to my students and one said that the females are not poisonous.... could this be true? Or are they all deadly?
Have any of you from Australia (or other places) seen the children's movie Napolean? About a dog who goes to the outback and meets many Australian animals? It is a favorite in our household, and often quoted :)
hey! I wanted to join the UNO if that's okay. I signed up and everything. I didn't know we weren't allowed to pick teams (if we aren't) and commented on Team Luna Moth so I'm sorry if that's against the guidelines. Can I be added to any team maybe if that's possible??
📕 Lizzy📕 Nothing as of now
📕 Nope not yet
📕 Romance and thriller!
📕 I can't wait to read the divergent series!

thank you for signing up. You have been placed on the reserve list from which we contact players, if there are dropouts from teams and the players on the reserve list have a matching(similar) book/moth count.
If we contact you, it will be via a message.
I have a question about novels written in verse. I have searched for an answer in the general rules of the group and can't find a rule that answers the question I have. Poetry books have to have a Word Count of 25,000 words. Novels written in verse aren't really "true" poetry books but most of the time have that MPG of poetry. The adult novels written in verse usually can't be found on ARBF to get a word count and some of them don't have an audiobook edition(3+ hours) to get a word count that way. Is there a page count rule or some other rule to follow for novels written in verse?
For example: Both of these are Adult Novels written in verse with MPG of Poetry. Neither of these are on ARBF.
This one doesn't have an audiobook edition that I can find on my Overdrive accounts.
The Hunchback of Neiman Marcus: A Novel About Marriage, Motherhood, and Mayhem
This one does have an audiobook edition--13 :41:24
The Lehman Trilogy
So would the first book be disqualified from being used because of the MPG of poetry and no word count/audio length can be obtained?
Thank you for your help!
Hey Robin, this is usually the wrong place to ask but you're right. No verified word count /audio length for mpg poetry means it's not allowed in uno. The other one with the audiobook works though :)

Was just curious how adult novels written in verse were handled and thought I was on the right track : )
