Yes, from now on, you have to update any changes to your spreadsheets on your own. They will not send me an updated one.

Ummmm... the email that BEA sent out today has a list of ticketed authors that DOES include JLA signing Scorched, but I doubled checked too and it still isn't listed on the ones to pick - but I've already picked my tickets, as I'm sure many other people have, so if that suddenly shows up, people are going to be very upset. I emailed BEA to see if this is a typo or a mistake that she wasn't included on the ones to choose. I'll see what they say. At this point, they should void everyone's tickets and start over if it turns out she is indeed on this list.

message 203: by Laura (new)

Laura (bookcaselaura) | 202 comments Jennifer Armentrout is signing Scorched twice on Friday - first at 11:30 table 9 which is not ticketed and then again at 1:30 table 1 which is. She is going to be one busy girl that week! Maybe she is trying to set a record for the most BEA signings - I think she has 5 or 6 scheduled this year!

Take Me Away To A Great Read (awaytogreatread) | 11 comments Wahoo, I need Scorched!!!

Bonnie (A Backwards Story) (abackwardsstory) | 36 comments What are the chances of getting tickets day of? Bernadette Peters and Gregory Maguire and Meg Cabot all interest me...and wait, Nicola Yoon is ticketed!? Maybe they'll just do a drop for that one? I just want to read that. Ummm, and how many tickets can you pick up if you didn't buy a pass?

message 206: by Liza (new)

Liza Wiemer Jennifer Armentrout is ticketed for only certain signings. I believe she is doing a total of 4. Two require tickets.

Also, for anyone who may be interested, I am happy to say that I'll be signing ARCs of my YA debut novel HELLO? at the Midpoint (Spencer Hill) booth on Friday morning, 11:00-11:30 am. :D

You can only get tickets for that day's ticketed events. They won't give you tickets on Thursday for Friday's signings. So, if there's a ticketed author each day you want to see, you'll have to wait in the line to get tickets three times.

The good news is, once you reach the desk, you can get only one ticket or all of them. It's best, though, to be sure about the signings you want tickets for, and not to just get tickets for speculation. Someone else might REALLY want that ticket. You know? :)

UGH. I'm so confused. According to the schedule, she's going to be in two places at once on Friday. Because, she's also supposed to be doing the Harlequin Teen signing from 1 until 2:30. ARGH.

That is confusing, but I saw a preliminary version of the Harlequin schedule a week or so ago and she only was on the teen hour on Thurs, but not included on the Friday one, so that's probably right. There are always last minute changes...

I did know it would be day of for each...and I think each one is a different day, erk!!

Do you have to get there really early? Do they let you in before seven?

I'm glad they'd let you do more than one if there were two in a day!! Thanks for the info :)

Jessica - yeah, its about 7am when they open the Ticketed Authors Line, but the line itself, depending on who is on that day, starts usually 40 minutes to a hour before that.

message 215: by Carrie (new)

Carrie How do the lines work? Do you wait in line to get your badge/preselected tickets then get on a different on to get tickets for ticketed authors? I'm just a little confused about where I'm supposed to go when I get there.

At least an hour. I'd check in at the book about 75 minutes before the start to see if the line has started yet. If not, ask if you can start it.

When you arrive, you'll go to the lower level to check in. You will get your badge and other conference materials at the desk there - you can't miss it. If you're in town on Tuesday, I'd recommend getting checked in then, so at least that's one less thing to do on day 1.

After that, you'll go up a flight of steps to the main level. If it's not immediately visible where the tickets for the ticketed authors are being handed out, ask a volunteer - there are tons of them wandering around, and they're pretty helpful for the most part. Once you find it, you'll get in line there to get your tickets. Then, you'll get in line to enter the conference hall (unless it's after 9 a.m. - then you can go right in).

Both are Table signings so the publishers won't ticket those. pubs only ticket in booth which I think Leigh has but does Richelle?

Jessica | Bookish Serendipity (bookishserendipity) | 30 comments How early do you think I should be for the Susan Dennard signing?

message 227: by Carrie (new)

Carrie When do publishers typically tell you which tables are going to be ticketed? (Not the handful that BEA lets you pick your tickets from.) Do you find out morning of when you check out their booths? And is that when/where you'd get the tickets?

message 228: by Laura (new)

Laura (bookcaselaura) | 202 comments Care wrote: "When do publishers typically tell you which tables are going to be ticketed? (Not the handful that BEA lets you pick your tickets from.) Do you find out morning of when you check out their booths? ..."

It really depends on the publisher and the author/book. Sometimes it'll be earlier that same day, and sometimes they just decide once they see the line forming, which is actually nice because then you don't end up waiting for an hour and not end up with a book. And sometimes you just happen to be in the right place at the right time and you see them handing out tickets. It is good to check out the daily magazine and the publishers' booths each morning. Ask ahead of time if there is a specific book you are looking for. And it definitely pays to make friends with the people around you in line at different signings because a lot of great things are around that you find out about from word of mouth alone.

Jessica | Bookish Serendipity (bookishserendipity) | 30 comments I purchased the Reader's pass. Could I use this for the Harlequin teen signing, which has several authors at once? Would I be have to use it for one author, and then get back in line?

message 236: by Lexie (new)

Jessica - I believe the Reader's Pass doesn't include in-booth signings, its only for Table signings.

In the six years I've attended BEA, I have never seen a request for purchase. People definitely put donations in the donation boxes in the autograph area to offset the costs, but this isn't at all a requirement.

Laura (bookcaselaura) | 202 comments PW's galley guide states that Adriana Trigiani will be there with "excerpt galleys" of All the Stars in the Heavens. Do you think that means that her ticketed signing is just of an "excerpt galley" too? That's just wrong if they didn't state that up front -- but Stan Lee just signed that little pamphlet thing last year, too, so it definitely could be true...

BookCon will have publishers that request purchase of the books, just like at ALA.

There were several last year that did require purchase, on BookCon day.

Liza Wiemer So, sometimes life just works this way. Turns out that my signing for HELLO?, my debut YA contemporary novel, has been LEFT OFF the BEA in-booth schedule. As of now, you can't find me anywhere on the BEA website. But I am signing!!! Friday at 11:00 at the Midpoint Booth 1357! (For Spencer Hill Press and Spencer Hill Contemporary)

If you think someone might be interested, I would deeply appreciate you letting them know. :D
