That's it - I'm getting no work done today...
I've been checking every single day for weeks now. Thanks for the heads up!

Oh goodness. Same here!

Someone did this last year and shared it. It was my life at BEA, so I know I'd need it again this year.
Sometimes I hate being so organized, but I know I'd feel lost without it!
I'm putting it all in my own spreadsheet. I won't start to color-code things though until I get the full table schedule and the in-booth schedule.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE your spreadsheet. I break out my colored highlighters and am in organization heaven when you send those out! Thank you!

I'm okay so far...though its going to be a close call and some hard choices...I'm rather worried for my Weds at 3pm...I have three authors listed all of equal value to me...
If it follows historical precedent, next week on Tuesday or Wednesday. However since BEA decided to be different then the last 5 years and post something useful early, I'm kind of WHATEVER JUST GIVE IT ALL TO ME NOW THEN :flaily hands:

SO MUCH TRUTH
SO MUCH TRUTH

I'm okay so far too, but I really think this is only half the autographing schedule - there are usually 24-26 booths in the autographing area. Plus, we still have to get the in-booth schedule, too!

It's the May 4th issue. I'm not sure when that will be "out" though.

oh don't worry - I know it'll explode. I'm determined to be less obsessive this year though. My heart can't take the amount of running we'll have to do since the Autograph Area moved.

You are amazing. Seriously. That spreadsheet was AMAZING!
I agree - that spreadsheet is a LIFESAVER, Laura. You are made of all things awesome!!!!
My schedule is looking pretty darn good.

Mine isn't too bad either Hannah. I little iffy on Friday with closer times, but once I prioritize I'll be good.

E-mail sent - thanks again Laura!
E-mail sent - thanks again Laura!

Bless you Laura!

Email sent Laura. Thank you so much!

And I haven't looked yet for fear of getting overwhelmed. I'm working BEA on Thursday so I have a feeling that the universe will put the bulk of what I want on Thursday. :(

Yes!! My Friday is SRS BSNS!!

Thanks Laura just sent you an email. Your a life saver for a non organized gal like myself.

Just to confirm, for autographing sessions, if I have the autographing pass, I do not have to pay there for the autographs/books? First time BEA goer here, and I just want to make sure.
for the first Q - yes you won't need to donate the $1 per book. And realistically I've gone thru 3. if you time it well. Tho its possible to go thru more if the lines are short or the authors are fast.

Realisitically, I have done three in one hour, but that was because the lines were short. So if the lines are really long, maybe one or two...

I agree that three is do-able. Especially if you are early and in the front of the line for the first one. I've also seen authors with huge lines that have started an hour before have no one in their line by the end of their time slot and you can just walk right up to get the book (sometimes this even happens with ticketed authors that let you get the book even if you don't have a ticket). I wouldn't count on that, but it is good to check at the end, too. Especially if you don't have somewhere to be afterward.

Ohhh, thanks! Emailed. :D

I wouldn't plan on more than 3 an hour, and put them in order of importance/popularity.
One factor that helps, is how early you can line up.
Let's say that you know there are 3 authors you REALLY want to get at 2pm. Your best bet to get to them all, is if you only get 1 signing at 1pm. If you are there early, and can actually get in and out of the signing within the first 15 minutes of it starting, the best luck you will have for the remaining two.
It really is a numbers game. Where you are in line, how chatty the author is, how many people are in line, etc.
My husband and I saw very little of each other at BEA. He 'manned' the author lines while I went to the in-booth signings and drops. This year I figure it will be more of the same, since the two areas are sooo spread out from each other.
If you have free time, I always swing through the autograph area because inevitably there will be signings that are ending and the lines only have 5 people in them and you can get in and out quick.

Ps this group is helping me A ToN! I'm so nervicited it helps to have some idea of what to do. :-)
