Never be afraid to use the full range of colors from Crayola and other colorful companies.I could use A Madness of Sunshine for the "sunshine" part of the title.
Nadine wrote: I don't know why, the first color that pops into my head is YELLOW. Some really good books: The Yellow Wall-Paper, Half of a Yellow Sun, Yellow Crocus, Yellow Wife, Butterfly Yellow.Surprisingly I just read The Yellow Wallpaper for class this term. It was a good short story, I was surprised I liked it.
I'll have to think of some nonfiction ones. I'm sure I have some in my library at home already.
This is one prompt I actually liked! I am going to read The Gold Pawn since it fits with another challenge I'm doing.
I have my books on Yellowstone so those might work unless I find a different color since I read my YS books all the time.
Some nonfiction ideas, courtesy of my sports shelf:The Boys in the Boat: Nine Americans and Their Epic Quest for Gold at the 1936 Berlin Olympics
Francona: The Red Sox Years
Faithful: Two Diehard Boston Red Sox Fans Chronicle the Historic 2004 Season
Only the Ball Was White: A History of Legendary Black Players and All-Black Professional Teams
Eight Men Out: The Black Sox and the 1919 World Series
I found a BUNCH on my TBR:Under the Black Flag: The Romance and the Reality of Life Among the Pirates
Half of a Yellow Sun
Blue Lily, Lily Blue (I'm rereading The Raven Cycle this fall so I already know that's where I'll count this one)
Black Boy Joy
The Children of Green Knowe
Black Enough: Stories of Being Young & Black in America
A Black Women's History of the United States
How Long 'til Black Future Month?
Pushout: The Criminalization of Black Girls in Schools
No Ashes in the Fire: Coming of Age Black and Free in America
Red, White & Royal Blue
White Trash: The 400-Year Untold History of Class in America
A Shining Thread of Hope: The History of Black Women in America
Sister Citizen: Shame, Stereotypes, and Black Women in America
Found this one in my home library:Within the Walls of Yellowstone - Classic Accounts and Poetry of the World's First National Park
The listopia for the 2020 gold, silver, or bronze in the title could be useful.Black Panther, Green Lantern, Red Robin, and plenty of other comic book characters are featured in many collections. If the book cover mentions the Golden, Silver, or Bronze Age of comics, then that would also work.
If any of you are Star Trek fans and haven't yet read Redshirts, I recommend it! Clever, and lots of fun.
I'm going to live in hope that Red Side Story is actually going to be released this year. It's announced for April 2023, only 14 years after the first book.
For anyone who likes mystery series set in mid 20th century LA, Walter Mosley's Easy Rawlins series has a color in (almost) every title of the series.
The series starts with Devil in a Blue Dress
The series starts with Devil in a Blue Dress

I hope it's worth the wait!

Heartily agree! This opens up chartreuse, orchid, peony, Vermillion, coral.....
A rainbow side challenge is calling out to me for this prompt 😊. The Orange Girl by Jostein Gaarder
The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison
Taking things a political route since I do books on Yellowstone all the time.Going with this one:
Woke Racism: How a New Religion Has Betrayed Black America
Lots of choices on my shelves:A Solitary Blue
Red Clover
The Question of Red
The Red and the Black
The Window at the White Cat
The Black-Eyed Susan
Black Nowhere
One Thousand White Women: The Journals of May Dodd
These Happy Golden Years
The Gray House
Books I recommend:
The Black Stallion

Son of the Black Stallion (and most of the series)
Blue Bloods
Forever in Blue: The Fourth Summer of the Sisterhood
Clear Blue Sky
The Red Pony
White Fang
Plum Lovin'
Plum Lucky

I was looking at a sports section at an independent bookstore and came across this one. This book basically knocks out 3 of the prompts should I choose to do so.Sports/Independent Bookstore/Color:
Redskins: Insult and Brand
Some nonfiction color options:Blueprint for Revolution: How to Use Rice Pudding, Lego Men, and Other Nonviolent Techniques to Galvanize Communities, Overthrow Dictators, or Simply Change the World
Black Flags, Blue Waters: The Epic History of America's Most Notorious Pirates
Tangled Up in Blue: Policing the American City
Mo' Meta Blues: The World According to Questlove
The Blues: The Authentic Narrative of My Music and Culture
The White Wall: How Big Finance Bankrupts Black America
Black Against Empire: The History and Politics of the Black Panther Party
Nice White Ladies: The Truth about White Supremacy, Our Role in It, and How We Can Help Dismantle It
Orange Is the New Black
The Red Queen: Sex and the Evolution of Human Nature
If you need any recs from this list, I read The White Wall and it blew my mind and enraged me.
Kara wrote: "I'm going to live in hope that Red Side Story is actually going to be released this year. It's announced for April 2023, only 14 years after the first book."Omg no way! I had given up hope he would ever do the sequel.
I read Red Rising a while back, might go with the next book in the series.I have Indigo Ridge on my TBR, so i might do this one...
I think I am going to go with The House in the Cerulean Sea but I also have The Peach Rebellion . Yellowface also comes out this year and I am intrigued.
I just finished Black Water Lilies for this prompt and I cannot recommend it enough. If there are people who like art and thrillers, this is the book for you.
I have several to choose from on my TBR like:Lilac Girls by Martha Hall Kelly
Scarlet Feather by Maeve Binchy
Eight White Nights by André Aciman
The Green Lace Corset by Jill G. Hall
and, I could add several more :)
I decided to go with:
Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston
It was an amazing read and I highly recommend it!! Absolutely 5 stars!!
Happy Reading!!
Okay well with this book I decided not to double-dip so instead of reading Redskins: Insult and Brand for this challenge, I'll be using that for the independent bookstore one. That said, now I need to think of a nonfiction book with a color as part of it.

I know of two by a local author with “gold” in the title:
* Going for Wisconsin Gold: Stories of Our State Olympians by Jessie Garcia
* My Life with the Green & Gold: Tales from 20 Years of Sportscasting by Jessie Garcia
Full disclosure, I went to school with the author. I’ve skimmed one of the books, do not have the other one yet.
Thanks for those, Heather L.I'm going to also look through my home library to see if I can find others.
I am reading Red at the Bone by Jacqueline Woodson. I have never read anything by Woodson before, so I am very excited.
Some of the options from my TBR:Across the Green Grass Fields
The Color Purple
Gods of Jade and Shadow
The Priory of the Orange Tree
Song of the Crimson Flower
Spinning Silver
The Yellow Wall-Paper and Selected Writings
And a few recommendations:
The Blue Castle
Between Shades of Gray
The Purple Swamp Hen and Other Stories
I just finished White HorseWhite HorseIt is horror/supernatural based on Native American culture/spirituality. Highly recommend. Also a debut.
I may be a bit of smart*ss on this one: instead of looking for a color word in the title, I may just look through my spines to see which ones are not white and are colored red, blue, yellow, etc.... We don't have to be so literal, right? (hehe)
I've got so many of these on my tbr list, which is a nice change of pace! I'm choosing between:The Priory of the Orange Tree
Black Flags, Blue Waters: The Epic History of America's Most Notorious Pirates
Red, White & Royal Blue
Red Seas Under Red Skies (that one's a sequel, so it probably wouldn't work well for everybody)
Lavender House
The Black Veins
Half-Resurrection Blues
Beyond the Black Door
I wound up reading Black Birds in the Sky: The Story and Legacy of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre for this one.
I read In Every Mirror She's Black by Lola Akinmade Åkerström, the story of three black women living in Sweden, one a refugee, one a businesswoman and the third an air steward and former model. The three women are linked by a wealthy Swedish business man.
I thought the story of Muna, the refugee was the most successful in its telling.
Last night I finished Stay Gold on audio book. It was good about a trans teen. It would fit several categories, but for now I'm putting it here.
The Girl with the Hazel Eyes by Bajan author Callie Browning is a dual timeline historical fiction and suspense that shifts between Barbados in the 1950s and 60s, and contemporary Florida. Lia has been asked to write a biography of reclusive Bajan author Susan who mysteriously wrote one controversial book then disappeared from the public eye. ⭐⭐⭐⭐ here is my review
Can't seem to decide on one. This book has been on my tbr for a couple of months:We Refuse to Forget: A True Story of Black Creeks, American Identity, and Power

This could be a fun search! I don't know why, the first color that pops into my head is YELLOW. Some really good books: The Yellow Wall-Paper, Half of a Yellow Sun, Yellow Crocus, Yellow Wife, Butterfly Yellow.
One of the books I've really been wanting to read soon is The Secret Life of Violet Grant!! Looks like I've found a good category for it!
Are "black" and "white" and "gray" colors? I think so. You can find tubes of paint labeled "titanium white" and "bone black" and "Payne's gray" so I think they all count.
Listopia list is Here: A book with a color in the title
