Hiya, Team Caps! Thanks for volunteering to guide your team through a round of BookShelf Bingo! Your job, should you choose to accept it, will require a few things:
1 ~ Be our go-to person should we have any questions about your team
2 ~ Organize your teammate's weekly reads for each shelf/category so that the BSB Ninjas can quickly and easily verify and approve your stamp request(s)
3 ~ Encourage and motivate your team (you may also ask to borrow Judithe's whip whenever necessary)
4 ~ Post regularly to ensure your team is communicating and on track each week (Send them a PM and friendly poke if they haven't posted at least once a week, noted their book choice, and/or appear to have dropped out of webspace)
5 ~ Send us a PM (Steph, Sandra or Judithe) should you need us for any reason throughout the game
Hi team! I'm Skandia and this is my favorite team challenge by far :) It might be my sixth or seventh time playing and I can't wait to start!
Woot woot! Teams are up!! Hi teamies. Looking forward to another round of bingo... Soooo needed bingo, it's the motivation I needed to get back to reading... Been playing since R3, on US EST time. Will work on some name ideas...
Hi everyone! This is my first time playing but I am looking forward to starting. I don't have any idea for a team name just yet...
Hi teamies! This is my second time playing, I thought I wouldn't participate again after last time but I couldn't resist!
So I found a name generating site and took some of the suggestions and modified to include reading... Here are some options:Chronic Readers
Series Minions
Wise Series Readers
The Desert Snakes
The Boomerang Readers
Dastardly Reading Silverfish
Los Reading Bugs
Any volunteers for a captain duty? I'm not overly eager, but if no one else wants to do it, I have done it before so at least I know what to do :)
I like Series Minions too for the team name :-)In regards to captain duty while I would be happy to do it I expect it probably be better if someone who has played before is captain.
I can do captain if no one else wishes to... I'm cool with "Series Minions" too. @Skandia. Like the pic
Great, Lis! Then I think we have a name and a captain.I'm looking through my to-read-next pile and trying to find options for free space book to get it done right away.
So far I have
to choose from
I was already planning to listen to
this month, so I'll probably use it for the free-space. @Skandia: I haven't read Daughter of Smoke & Bone yet and you're tempting me:)
I'm leaning towards
. But I also have
on standbyCan't go wrong with any of the Archangel series... It was very good!

I've decided on my Free Space book. I'll be reading
by Lara Adrian, unless "vampires" shelf is called first today.
First Shelf Shelf #1 ~ 18 Feb 2015: Favorite
Read a favorite ~ series, author, genre, paranormal ability or being, etc
Time to search Goodreads for a book that matches then! :-) I will be back to post my choice in about 10 hours probably (due to time zone differences I am off to work right now).
I'm excited about bingo starting! I'll browse my books later tonight after work and my nieces high school basketball playoff game... Have to go cheer from the stands and heckle the ref's calls first... @Skandia - just finishing Crave The Night #11 in Adrian's series... Still good even with the strange twists...
I'm going to read
for my favorite shelf (Nalini Singh: favorite author) and I'll find something else for the Free read

Me, too! Except for the last one - very disappointing!
I just finished it and I have to say as much as I really enjoy Richelle Mead's other series I really think this book is the best book of hers that I have read (of course of the others are not what I would classify as the same genre so might not be a fair comparison). I will be posting a review (with a 5 star rating) a bit later. :-) Gosh I really want to read the next one now (definitely added to my purchase list).
For free space I'm going with
which I found on the SOS bookshelf. After several serious reads I want something lighter and fluffy... I see a lot if good choices so our first couple of shelves should be good ones with lots of stars...

Review: I thoroughly enjoyed reading Succubus Blues. It was the perfect combination of paranormal, humour, romance and intriguing plot concepts woven together. While I really liked the main characters it was the inclusion of so many interesting supporting characters and their whole dynamic really makes the book. I must admit I immediately purchased book 2 after finished this one since this one, despite ending fantastically, leaves this reader wanting more.
I am about halfway through Stray (Freespace book) now and considering the weather I am expecting to have it finished by the end of the weekend.
Yay Danielle! I hope you continue to enjoy that series... Georgina is a unique and interesting character.
How's everyone doing on their picks? Mine started dragging so I started on my free space book and got sucked in... Thought it would be a light fun read, boy was I wrong. Still good...
Not good, Lis :(I have had literally no time to read for last few days. Life got crazy and I have worked my ass off. But the busy stuff is done now and I'm going to catch up this week with my reading for sure! I hate to fall behind.
I'm half way done with Lara Adrian's book and that goes quickly now when I actually have time to read.
Finished
Book: Roaring Up the Wrong Tree by Celia Kyle

Review: This is the 3rd book in the Grayslake series. Trista is a half hyena and half human trying to use shifter law to keep a step ahead of the wolf alpha that has been harassing her and her mother for years and also the Bears who ordered all hyenas purged from Grayslake territory. Her life gets even more difficult when she is evicted from her crappy apartment and all her stuff taken including her money stash. Enter Keen Abrams the youngest brother of the local Itan of the Bears. A little insta attraction and Keen's inner beast is telling him she's Mine and the challenge begins as he tries to convince a very damaged and fearful Tris to trust that he can protect her and keep her safe, something she has never felt or known.
This was a heart wrenching story of two very damaged characters finally finding peace and security together which they never had from their families. And a hope for a future that too quickly becomes threatened and possibly out of reach. This series edition sucked me in and didn't let go.
I've started both books and I'm about 50% in at Archangel's Shadows. Currently trying to finish the SRC challenge, I'll be done tomorrow, so I'll focus on finishing both books after that. Sorry for the delay!
Book:Midnight Awakening by Lara Adrian
Date Read: 2/25/2015
Shelf: Free Shelf (Best PNR list)
Rating: ★★★★☆
Third book in Midnight Breed series had all the elements I like in PNR - action, fast moving plot, clever and kick-ass heroine, strong tortured hero and great hot chemistry between characters.
Once again The Order vampires are fighting against the bloodthirsty Rogues and Elise Chase, a widowed human breedmate has her own agenda in this fight. Her son and husband have been killed by Rogues and she's taking up an one woman army to hunt down their minions and kill them. Soon she discovers something that is very valuable for both fighting parties and nearly escapes her death with a help from Order fighter Tegan. Elise offers her help to find out the secret. This offer is not received well by Tegan who doesn't want anything to do with her.
I loved how unafraid and decisive Elise was. Her cleverness and fast thinking were great help and she was truly kickass. Although her solo actions in the beginning were suicidal and kind of stupid, she never lost her head afterwards. Even grumpy Tegan had to surrender to her charm and fearless behavior.
I must say that I'm looking forward reading next book in this series and now I'm sure I do prefer Midnight Breed to BDB books.
Yay Skandia! I've made it half way on my "Favorites" pick, starting to pick up now... And today is shelf day already, what a fast week!
Happy Shelf Day Minions! It has been crazy fast week for me too. I've been running around nonstop and now I want to get on with my "Favorites" book and very curious about new shelf today!

Review: Overall I did enjoy this book (and have been powering through this series since finishing it); I have always liked books containing shifters so werecats definitely appealed as a concept. The main character occasionally got on my nerves, though I really did like that she was a good fighter and was capable of defending herself, and that was the biggest low point in the book for me. I did like the secondary characters but this book, unlike the later ones, does not really give any of them a chance to shine so to speak. Definitely worth a read though.
