2022 - A year for Themes!
I decided to do a theme every month so I will be keeping track of said themes I decide upon right here as I continue my never ending reading regiment through out the year.

January (How the West was Drawn)
For the beginning of the year I have decided to shy away from my usual literary diet of manga to read more comic book style graphic novels. Cheers to you all as we strive to meet our reading goals yet to come. :)

February (Divine and Demonic Disruptions)
While some consider Valentine's Day a day for love and happiness there are also those that flip those emotion seeing only hate and sadness (of course there are an assortment of emotions in-between.) Historically known to inspire these emotions in we mere mortals there are stories spun of beings of considerable power influencing our lives and emotions in the eternal struggles between themselves. Whether they be angels, demons, or even gods their influence affects the mortals within the stories for this short and often colder month.

March (Little Things that Matter)
With the coming of March people often think of St. Patrick's Day and when thinking of that day the things people often think about are the colors green, beer, and the wee folk known as leprechauns. For this month I plan to read a variety of stories revolving on the little characters that make a story move regardless of their smaller size. Whether the stories involve actual little people, smaller monsters, or even children having to deal with their own stories I am hoping to enjoy these tales as the weather begins to get warmer.

April (The Future is Now)
The first month after the start of spring brings images of warmer weather and rain to repopulate the world with living nature after a cold winter. However making a theme for the month to celebrate rebirth and nature would be simple enough (imagine many of the reborn again isekai books out there) I instead decided to flip it and go with the antithesis of nature and read some books dealing with more science fiction style subject matters so let us see what kind of books I have on my self and hope things don't get to dark and gritty this month. :)

May (Omnibus Overload!)
Having been rather efficient at reducing my to read list this year I want to tackle some of the big books compiling multiple volumes this month. Even though technically each book could count as 2 or 3 (and sometimes they are even bigger) the ease of having several volumes at a lower price can be nice too. :)

June (Legends and Lore)
This month I am going to work on my books inspired by tales of old whether they are inspires by fairy tales, mythology, or other things of lore I am excited to read some of these inspirations come to life in graphic novels. :)

July (A Slice of Reality)
After having a month based on famous tales how about a little reality to bring things back a bit. Whether dealing with romance, war, or any number of other real world things I will be attempting to get real with my reads this month. As such some elements may still waiver out of the classic definition of slice of life such as monster girls attending school so long as I determine the series is more about real world experiences than the powers granted from being different.

August (Monster Menageries)
While monsters come in many shapes and sizes not all of them are humanoid and that is what I will be trying to focus on this month. Whether as small as a slime or as large as a dragon such figures have existed in many stories as either foe or friend but are influential to the story nonetheless.

September (Transmogrification Elation)
Just as Summer transforms into Autumn I am going to try to read books about characters that transform to achieve their goals. Whether they are magical girls, aliens, monsters or other beings sometimes to really make an impact you have to break your normal limits and become something more. Maybe we will even get to see some final forms. :)

October (Humanoid Horrors)
Movies about vampires, zombies, ghosts, were-creatures, and all sort of other terrifying things that go bump in the night have become synonymous with Halloween for years so for this month I am going to look into books with some of these classic and often times humanoid looking monsters to read whether they be the protagonist or the antagonist.

November (Free For All Feast)
With Christmas coming next month and Thanksgiving this month I am going to drop the themes for November in favor of preparing for one of the busiest times of the year. As such I am going to grab some books from all sorts of genres in-between preparations and other everyday activities perhaps even getting to series I haven't been able to fit into this year. I wonder what kind of book leftovers I will find by time I get to the end of the month. :)

December (These Three Kings)
Like the three kings that visited Jesus in the manger (though it is believed the date for Christmas was chosen more due to the Winter Equinox that pagans celebrated) December's books will more or less have some kind of royalty theme like Yona of the Dawn, Magi, and The Heroic Legend of Arslan. Honestly considering how many of the books I have to read just those three series could fill the month but due to the kindle challenge I will have to read a few from my tablet now and there too. :)

Serena Marie (smileyy_serenaaa) | 28 comments I was just wondering how you pasted the titles of the books as a link on your list? Whenever I go to the book and click share, it pasted a URL link instead. Thanks!

When you click on the add book/author link above the box you are typing in there should be bubbles for Add Link or Cover on the bottom even after you do a search (I find it easiest to search for the ASIN for kindle books and ISBN for physical ones.) Choosing Link makes the links like my monthly tracking and Cover shows covers like my total count. :)

Here is another source in case you can't find the links I mentioned. :)

It helps a majority of the stuff at the beginning of the year are mostly single issue books as opposed to some of the omnibus volumes I will be reading coming up. You are welcomed to be inspired by any and all on my list (or even my manga, e-manga, comic, and e-comic bookshelves) but be careful if you buy any of the books yourself as there are many levels of maturity in graphic novels as well as subject matters that may make or break an interest (like excessive fanservice for example.) :)
