Sarah | 18549 comments Thanks guys. The intention is to look in a radius of where my job is. So Bristol, Bath and anywhere in between. Still have the cat, she's adjusted to being an indoor cat pretty well.

The Queue has been crazy here in London. I watched the main funeral earlier but it went on a bit lol I watched it at a friends and then we had lunch and played board games which was nice.

I had my 3 month evaluation at work this week and it went very well. Still have 3 months of probationary period left. Doing lots of training this month which has thrown things out a bit so it's been a stressful week and i feel a bit behind but should iron itself out once the training is done. I've also had more hypno clients than I'd planned to see so need to balance things out a bit so I'm not overdoing it.

Janice (jamasc) | 59851 comments I was watching a bit of the procession to Windsor Castle. There was a long boat moored along the river close to Windsor. Of course, I immediately thought of you. Did you ever take your boat along that way?

message 1104: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18549 comments No I didn't unfortunately. I always wanted to. I did go on the river thames but turned the other way at Reading. My parents live in Maidenhead, not far from Windsor and always wanted to go through the town and up past Windsor castle. Might have to hire one at some point.

message 1105: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59851 comments It looked beautiful and serene.

message 1106: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18549 comments It has been a nice 3 day week. On Saturday, I'm going on a bristol historic boat drawing and painting course. I haven't done much art this past 18 months and hoping this will jump start me ready for inktober next month. Would be good to get back into it. Feels like I stopped doing everything these past 18 months.

message 1107: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59851 comments I presume inktober is a month of painting challenges?

message 1108: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18549 comments There is a prompt each day and you're supposed to draw using ink of some kind. I did it a couple of years ago and really enjoyed it. My dad usually joins in too.

Not sure if we have many people on the East coast of Canada either, but hope all is well there after your massive storm as well.

message 1117: by Kristie, Moderator (new)

Kristie | 19130 comments Yes, every year just seems to go faster and faster. I'm afraid to blink at this point!

Sarah | 18549 comments I have covid! I have done so well avoiding it all this time. I started getting symptoms on Monday and thought it was just a cold. Tested positive this morning. Chest is not great. Hopefully it won't get any worse.

Saar The Book owl | 2647 comments I hope you will get better soon and it will only be minor symptoms. Take care!

message 1130: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18549 comments Thanks guys. I'm feeling about the same today. Well, I have a stonking headache but that can be fixed when the tesco delivery man arrives soon with paracetamol. Hopefully I'll be testing negative again by my birthday otherwise that will suck.

message 1131: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18549 comments I am very glad to not be on the boat with it though that is for sure!

Roz | 4524 comments Sorry to hear you got covid, Sarah. Hope it's a mild case and you start feeling better soon.

Janice (jamasc) | 59851 comments I hope you feel better quickly, Sarah, and that your asthma doesn't complicate things. Please keep up posted.

message 1134: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18549 comments Thanks guys. I'm on the tail end of it now. Had to go to the out of hours doctors at the weekend as my asthma flared but on the mend now. Still knackered and congested and testing positive. My 10 days is up on Saturday so I'll return to normal life then, although I can't return to work physically until I test negative. I went back to work yesterday, working from home. Possibly a little ambitious there as it has wiped me out. Hopefully I'll be feeling less knackered next week. It's my birthday on Sunday so wanted to be clear so that I could do something, although of course it will need to be reasonably low key.

message 1135: by Jenn (new)

Jenn | 3029 comments Oh Sarah, I don’t think that you can get a negative for up to 3 months after having Covid. We were told that it was just a matter of being symptom free for the designated period of time at the end of the illness. Glad that you are starting to turn the corner 🥰

message 1136: by Shirley (new)

Shirley | 1505 comments Happy birthday for Sunday Sarah.

I am pretty sure you can, as here in Australia until recently you couldn't leave quarantine until you tested negative. Depends on tests, and your specifics of course.

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19202 comments Hope all goes well, Sarah, and you heal up fast for at least something low key on the weekend. Happy birthday!

message 1139: by Esther (new)

Esther (nyctale) | 5190 comments Sarah, i hope you get that energy back and get to celerate.

message 1140: by Esther (new)

Esther (nyctale) | 5190 comments Am I the only one that are not yet permanently on the new GR book page? The site alternates between the old and the new pages, switching about every ten days or so. And every time I get 2 days of pops up after the change. At this point I would welcome any page as long as this stops.

message 1141: by Kristie, Moderator (new)

Kristie | 19130 comments My book pages just finally switched over. I've been on the old page the entire time until a day or two ago! It's so strange to click on a book link and have it go to such a different looking page. It's like a whole different site.

message 1142: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59851 comments My book page switched back to the old format about a week ago.

message 1143: by Sandra, Moderator (new)

Sandra (sanlema) | 11257 comments Same here. I had the new formar for months, but switched back to the oldest one at some point.

message 1144: by Rusalka, Moderator (new)

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19202 comments I never saw the new page until about 2 months ago when I had to look at something at work not logged in. But my personal goodreads switched over last night.

I couldn't find a thing.

message 1148: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18549 comments Thanks guys!

I had a lovely birthday. Wandered around Bath, had some lovely tapas and played board games at the board game cafe I go to. But it totally wiped me out. I'm testing negative now so can go back to normality. Well, sort of. I've actually been feeling really awful since my birthday. Had some rubbish side effects from the steroids I took which compounded the covid fatigue so I've been off work this week even though I'm testing negative. Hopefully I'll be ok next week.

message 1149: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59851 comments I hope you feel better and more alert, Sarah. Fatigue, no matter the cause, is difficult to cope with.

I'm glad your birthday was good.
